Pregnant Angelababy Still Skinny As Ever

Although already nine months pregnant, Angelababy (楊穎) is still as skinny as ever.

According to Hong Kong reports, Angelababy will be giving birth to her first child with Huang Xiaoming (黃曉明) sometime around Chinese New Year. The 27-year-old model-actress is currently resting in Hong Kong, enjoying the end of her pregnancy.

Recently, the actress and her manager, Kim, were spotted in a shopping mall in Central. Angelababy was dressed in all black—black dress, black leggings, black cap, and even a black mask, but she surprisingly looked a lot skinnier than expected.

After walking around for an hour, the extremely pregnant Angelababy decided to take a rest inside the lounge room of a store. She was then picked up by her driver, and boarded the seven-seater mini van for home.

  1. Wonder why and how everyone from mainland is coming to Hong Kong to give birth? I thought Hong Kong did not allow mainlanders to do that anymore. I guess people with money like celebs are exceptions. I just saw this other pretty unknown mainland actor’s wife just gave birth in Hong Kong too. I guess it is just mainly people with money whether they are celebs or not. I am shocked they did not go to the US like some of the others do.

Thanks for the info! Are the hospitals in China that bad that even the rich like to go elsewhere for their healthcare needs? In terms of giving birth, I think besides the better healthcare, they also want to gain the citizenship of that particular country. We all know that too well with so many flopping over to the US and other countries to give birth and gain citizenship so they can reap all of the benefits of the citizens here.

      2. @hetieshou I think you are right about the “citizenship’ part. China hospital can’t be that bad if you have money i think. But then I’m not that impress with the HK ones. A friend who is a nurse here once said that some dr in HK are worst then the nurses here in the States.

  2. She’s having a girl right? Usually women with low body weight end up having girls because the female chromosome is hardier and can withstand harsher climates in the womb.

too much superstition. but i think she’s having a girl b/c i read somewhere that she plans to have more babies. usually that means they already know it’s a girl. chinese people ma.

      1. @hetieshou women with weaker constitution do have more daughters than sons. But other factors, including one’s wealth and other environmental issues can also affect the baby’s sex. But there are, ofc, exceptions to the rule

      2. @coralie Doesn’t the men sperm determine the sex of the baby?? As from what I remember, male sperm (XY) swim faster but doesn’t last as long but female one (XX) last longer but doesn’t swim as fast. Woman eggs only produce XX chromosome.

      3. @jimmyszeto I can cite online scientific articles if there are any doubts regarding whether wealth, a woman’s physical weight, environmental factors and maybe even sexual positions at time of conception can determine a child’s gender. But of course since there are many factors involved and not every factor becomes a dominant force, it’s still a guessing game in the end. Just certain attributes like the ones mentioned above can play a hand in contributing to a child’s sex.

I tried to find articles backing the wealth proponent but seems that’s been debunked, so that is not a factor in determining a gender anymore. And same goes for the shettles method which endorses certain intercourse positions in determining a child’s gender. But the body weight thing is real and even what foods you eat prepregancy can also affect the baby’s gender: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2602810/

      4. @happybi yes but lots of things can also affect a baby’s gender during time of conception, even sexual positions. I can cite online scientific articles if there are any doubts regarding whether wealth, a woman’s physical weight, environmental factors and maybe even sexual positions at time of conception can determine a child’s gender. But of course since there are many factors involved and not every factor becomes a dominant force, it’s still a guessing game in the end. 5. @coralie Yes I remember reading that certain position can influence the sex of the baby and that’s because the closer the sperm is deposited to the egg the more likely it’s a boy as male sperm swim faster. Never heard of wealth and environment before. Interesting though.

      6. @happybi i think that’s closely associated with ‘the shettles method’ which has been debunked according to the articles i just googled earlier this morning lol. the wealth one was actually a hot topic a while back, but since i did more research on this today, they say it’s not true either (womp womp.) but the environment like how much hormone is in your water, your air, your food, can all affect a baby’s gender too. even tadpoles have been known to be affected by the water they swim in so i can see some association there.

this is just food for thought. but low maternal weight and what foods mothers eat, has been shown to produce more female offsprings

      7. @coralie It’s interesting for sure. But then if one is wealthy, can pick the sex via IVF procedure. I’m not a fan of that but then for parents who really want a girl or a boy after many kids, then I don’t see it being bad.

      8. @happybi LOL if you really don’t want to take a chance with the natural way, IVF is indeed better. but i don’t think most clinics allow gender selection (most places don’t even allow entry unless there’s a dire need for it.)

Just certain attributes like the ones mentioned above can play a hand in contributing to a child’s sex. Ofc you can look it up on Google too with a few clicks. And no, not everything is determined by women for obvious reasons (no ‘Y’ chromosome for instance), but there are things women do that can also put favor a gender

Yes, news this morning. But about the gender, boy, was known very early, when first news about her pregnancy,
About ppl moving to HK for delivery I think it’s about politics
