Leanne Li and Louis Cheung’s Kisses in “Black Heart White Soul” Become Talking Point

In currently airing TVB drama, Black Heart White Soul <忠奸人>, Louis Cheung (張繼聰) has many rough and physical kissing scenes with Leanne Li (李亞男). Leanne’s boyfriend, Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍), said he was irked by the kissing scenes. Louis admitted that before filming them he had contacted Cho Lam.

Leanne joked that Cho Lam had already kissed her friends in past productions. She said, “He had many [kissing] scenes before; now’s it’s time for payback. Maybe he’ll take revenge next time. I showed him the script before; it’s about mutual trust.” Leanne also added that she has reached close to her bottom line with regards to bold scenes.

Louis laughed, “I’m really afraid of filming [kissing] scenes. My wife [Kay Tse 謝安琪] said our family has been watching the drama. My son was also very engaged in the storyline, but once [the kissing scenes] came, my father had to turn off the TV. My mother-in-law said she is worried that Kay married the wrong man. I guess I was very good in the role. My neighbors are scare of me now.”

Louis laughed and admitted that he too would be afraid to see his wife, Kay, film kissing scenes with other actors. “I’m not going to watch those scenes either!”

Grace Chan Considers Kissing Louis Cheung

The cast of TVB’s legal drama Quid Pro Quo <四個女仔三個Bar>, including Ben Wong (黃智賢),L ouis Cheung (張繼聰), Elaine Yiu (姚子羚), and Miss Hong Kong Grace Chan (陳凱琳), were seen filming the series at Hong Kong’s High Court building in Admiralty on Sunday afternoon.

In the series, which is produced by Joe Chan (陳維冠), Louis and Grace portray a couple. Asked if they would share any kissing scenes together, Louis said, “It’s an implied relationship. We don’t realize our connection until after episode 25. It’s not as physical as in . I don’t know if we’ll have kissing scenes.” Would he request these scenes to the producer? “I don’t do those things.”

Louis said Grace is a fast learner, while Grace said Louis is a kind senior and very willing to help her. Asked if she would mind filming kissing scenes with Louis, Grace said, “I’ll think about it when the time comes. It depends on the script.”

  1. If I were Louis, I’d insist on having a kiss scene with Grace or I’d quit filming halfway through.

    1. Cho Lam’s jealous cause when Leanne kisses Louis, she doesn’t have to bend down……She can stand face-to-face with him and feel the kiss of a man and not that of a puberty-boy……..On the other hand, Louis has already got Kay Tse and she’s already quite hot so kissing Leanne is nothing fresh……But I’m sure he and Leanne enjoyed it…….

      1. I really hope you were joking about Cho Lams’s height. I’m not a fan of either but what you said was pretty f&$@ed up!

  2. It’ll be so hard to see your wife or gf passionately kissing another man on screen. I bet Cho Lam’s going to be so jealous.

    1. No big deal, just one more ugly guy for her to kiss. 😀 🙁 LOL!

      1. Guess you’re right. Compared to Cholam, Louis is probably hotter.

  3. Sometimes no choice if the script required you to kiss. This is part of being an actor/actress, that’s why it’s really important to be able to leave the character once the camera stops rolling.

  4. Side note: Leanne’s acting has improved so much along with her Cantonese! I’m very impressed!

    1. Yes, I completely agree. Her Cantonese is so much better.

    2. Yea thought im the only one who think she has weird cantonese accent before, especially in OY drama. It is little bit better now, though still can catch her sometimes.

  5. In last night ep Louis should have taken the wheel chair back from roger

    1. hahaha i was thinking the same thing! like push him off and say ok crawl out, you traitor.

  6. Coincidentally, there are many casts in this drama that are also part of Wong cho lam’s cousin drama.

  7. Watched the latest episode and wow, Leanne’s character was such a bi-tch

  8. Oh I hate her Scarlet! What a scarlet woman!!

By the way how come no article ever mention her rape scene which was longer, more graphic and very very audio unfriendly scene as opposed to the other attention grabbing rape scenes solely for publicity? Brave performance but oh poor poor Marco.

    1. I think actually the kissing scene is more intimate?. You can actually see they locked lips. The rape scene mostly angle and the sounds..no comment..,

  9. everything about this drama fits the theme perfectly – the thin line between the ambiguous evil and the vaguely good i.e. 忠奸人 in every “good” person there is some sort of “evil” and in every “evil” person there is a pinch of “good”. no matter how bad/selfish/evil marco was, his love for scarlet was unbelievable

  10. i’m impressed with leanne’s intimate scenes (including the kissing/making out scenes with louis and the scene where to yee hang rapes scarlet) – its pretty convincing given her stance on premarital sex. also thumbs up for louis’ portrayal of marco

    1. Yeah!!! Louis and Leanne acted so well as if they are very much in love!!
Louis is such a good actor!

  11. Leanne is good in this. She is so pretty and stylish. I keep thinking she should go for a hotter guy than WCL. I love WCL’s acting but this is just a pure physical compatibility comment.

    1. i think so too. i’ve always wondered why she goes for wcl. i never agreed w/ the saying that appearance doesn’t matter. sorry in real life it matters. she’s such a beauty, she can pick a rich and handsome guy who matches her physique.

      1. Love is blind, besides Cho Lam is a talented and funny guy…maybe he won her heart through his jokes.

      2. They won’t be blind when they see the results of their offspring. 😀 🙁 LOL!

      3. ” she’s such a beauty, she can pick a rich and handsome guy who matches her physique.”

Then, people will call her shallow and a gold-digger.

      4. Cant satisfy everyone. She chose the guy she loves, not the guy outsiders love.

      5. just a thought – its probably going to be difficult for her to ever break off with WCL because even if they DO break up due to genuine personality incompatibility or relationship issues, people will quickly jump to conclusions it was due to physical incompatibility or she wanted someone better looking. Such is the woe of being much better looking than her partner!

    2. Ironically it wasn’t her bf WCL who uncovers Leanne’s great acting and breakthrough role but it is this series.

      1. I think the man/WCL behind the woman/Leanne “helped tremendously”.

      2. Leanne got a pretty face & figure but her acting skill needs improvement. This is one of her biggest role so far. hope we can see much more of her in the future TVB dramas

  12. So far, Louis is my favorite character. Despite Marco is evil, at least he has a heart. On the other hand, I love Leanne, but Scarlet is such a selfish and materialistic character.
This drama is quite interesting. I like how each person has their own background history and they way they collab together. ^^

    1. I don’t see Marco as evil, I don’t even see Roger as evil. I see Roger as ruthless and ambitious, but Marco at the end of the day tries to retain his humanity when it comes to Ah Fo and Scarlet and failed spectacularly. His fault was he wasn’t ruthless enough. He should have gone for Denise. Like how I felt in BK with Sam. Same actress also.

      1. serious? what is the meaning of evil then? i think they are both evil as hell but the difference is that roger are even more wicked and revengeful than marco, you right that roger is ambitious and ruthless but when he can kill ppl because they stands in his way to reach his goal then this is for me 100% evil.

      2. The series is good but it does has loop holes. I am not quite sure why Roger want Marco die. How about Dennis? she also know Roger’s secret as well.

      3. I think aside from his secretly vindictive and ambitious personality, Matt’s character is also one that feels everyone else is to be blamed for whatever he does since he has the suffering “excuse” of his disability.

Hence he wants Marco dead because:
        – Retrospectively, he blames Marco for making him put the woman he loves now, in jail in the first place
        – It was Marco’s kindness that resulted in Fire (Lau Yim) being able to escape and reveal to May the truth about how her lawyer (now lover) actually had a hand in putting her in jail

      4. Good-time-girl Scarlet has Marco “wrapped around her fingers”. But, maybe Marco will wake up and end up with Denise later?

BTW, I think Matt is “on a mission” to get to the bottom of that murder case (that he drew out on paper and locked in the drawer at one point).

  13. I vote this pair to get Best Supporting Actor/tress or at very least Most Improved! They shine in this drama.

  14. He’s a skeeze in real life and she’s a horrible actress. Good pairing TVB!

  15. Louis plays great evil role and Leanne did great in this drama, huge improvement. But someone please get rid of Becky Lee, it was brutal to watch her “Denise” character.

    1. Louis has charisma. He may not be classic handsome not even close to Jason Chan but he has so much more charisma. I love all his series. He is a like able villain. Becky has a very bony face that makes her look old not feminine. But she too has some charisma…just not typical beauty.

  16. How come nobody talks about that rich girl who’s the daughter of the big boss? Who is she anyway? And why they pick her, her acting is ok but her nose is so fake. I can’t stand it.

    1. Lisa lau, former pageant contestant. I think she had too much Botox. The cheek iis so plump and high mk her eyes looks wierd.

    2. Ya plastic surgery gone overboard. Hope those cheeks are fillers which will go away over time. She can act decent though. Agree nose is too fake. See her photos in web. Some of them look pretty nice since the cheeks are smaller and nose slightly broader.

  17. I am not a fans of any actor or actress in this drama…but I like this drama…at least I want to watch it everyday…well done every one (of course, the rich girl is not good looking, but I respect everyone…not going to say mean thing la)

    1. The fatty is irritating. Why much she act so childish. Fat and funny is ok like her boyfriend in the series. But can’t stand her way of talking and pouting like a small kid. Feel like telling her enough is enough. Not cute!!

  18. I like Leanne Li in this drama. The other character that stand out is Matt Yeung’s Lau Yim. Such a badass portrayal, excellent underrated actor. Most Improved belong to these two this yr!!

    1. Agreed that Lau Yim also did very well. A pity that Ron Ng’s acting is still so weak and fake even after all these years…

    2. Leanne Li has potential to be great. I’m in awe with Scarlet. Why hasn’t anyone recognize her before? I rather see Leanne than the repetitive face of current fadans of Tavia and Kate Tsui.

      1. Agree a million times. Kate is like plastic and so conscious of how good she looks. Her pout and eyes irritates me like anything. I won’t watch a series by her.. Leanne is a much more natural. LAU Yim, yeah, surprisingly good too. I was scared of his character. But I am not a fan of Roger. He can act. But his smile is ugly whilst he thinks it’s handsome.

  19. agreed with Sasa, I am fixated on Gillian’s nose and can’t stop staring at it that I probably can’t do justice to her acting, why in the world she want to uglyfy herself. She’s actually ok looking
And agreed that Leanne acting is vastly improved and Louis’s is top-notch. He is such a natural and has many scene stealing moments

  20. I support these two for Most Improved! Leanne surprised me!

  21. Pardon me as I really only watch TVB serials and don’t really chase or know much about the HK movie and HK entertainment scene so I don’t know if this Louis Cheung guy is maybe very popular/well-known in those circles …but he is such a score for TVB! (Esp at a point in the last couple of years where it seemed their actors were leaving in droves..)
I am very impressed by him portraying Marco in this series! He has that bad boy look, bad boy stance, bad boy demeanour and THEN, managed to convey the tragic flaw in his successful persona so well that I find he eclipses other main characters. Agree with the above he has done quite a bit of scene stealing. To me he’s a new face, but kudos to TVB for finding themselves such a natural.

    1. Agreed. He’s a newbie and he’s only been in four tv series but he’s never been the weak link and has impressed me each time. I think he will be one of the main leads in his next series.

      1. I rather see Louis than the other current newbies TVB is promoting. Him Law and Jason Chan and all these other newbies have more experience than Louis who started late I only saw in 2-3 series but Louis is acting like a veteran. Although Louis is much older which I assume he is at Ruco age, he is much better than these other newbies TVB is promoting to replace the exodus of current siu sang.

    2. Agree Louis certainly much better and more natural than another newbies in the same promotion level such as Him law, Jason Chan, Tony Hung, Sammy Shum and some forgettable newbies.

      1. Except for Sammy who acts pretty unique like Louis the rests are vain pots and a big joke.. Jason is the worst! Him is so self promoting. I wanna laugh each time I see his young and dangerous pose. Omg. He really thinks he can be an Ekin Cheng. Dream.

      2. Hmm I did not realise he may be same promotion level as Him Law, Jason Chan (?!!) and uh yes the other forgettable newbies (so forgettable I really can’t rem their roles/names). Sammy Shum (had to google there) does have this bad boy look too but he hasn’t yet been breakthrough in the character development for his roles so far. This bunch seem much younger (maybe cos of their boyish faces) and less experienced onscreen than Louis to me.

I think with this series and now I recall Gilded Chopsticks too (didn’t watch much of Inbound Troubles), he may well be leapfrogging past these pretty-faced type young ‘uns up to the higher ranks of more substance/calibre.

      3. TVB sadly has no young actor capable of the charisma of LF and Bosco so far, and TVB seriously need some since this batch already moves on to outside. While waiting for the new gen of Him Law, Sammi Shum, Vincent Wang, Benjamin Yuen, Jason Chan, I too think Louis can fill in the empty spots although he’s a bit old, but he’s still new in TVB and the female target viewers of age 29-50 loves this age of 35-40 for the males. The age of Louis, Ruco and Kenneth Ma are in their prime time for TVB dramas.

      4. The next Wong CL series – Inbound Troubles 2 is chosen to be a headline drama in an upcoming TV festival in China. Louis is one of the main character where he has a TV groundbreaking romantic relationship with Mary Hon who’s 20 years senior and will show his buff hot muscles.

      5. Yes Daniel, I think Louis is definitely more pegged to the rank in which Ruco and Kenneth are in (anymore within that same calibre? I can’t quite recall..).
I visited Louis’ Facebook page after trying to find out more about this “newbie” and yup, was surprised to see how ripped fit he is. With Mary Hon in Inbound Troubles 2?? Interesting already!

      6. Louis age is in Ruco Kenneth group but I only saw him in 2-3 dramas so far so that means his experience is not up to Ruco/Kenneth but only at stage of Him/Sammi/Benjamin/Vincent or maybe less than them idols. But Louis is the mature type and not these ‘young’ type like other new generation.

LF has leave TVB for music and mainland and movies and Bosco also now focusing in mainland and movies and investment more than TVB so what TVB should do now is quickly pushing new generation actors to achieve the same level of charisma. Only Vincent Wang from new batch has some potential. I don’t like Him Law’s work.

      7. To me, I think he shows almost the same experience and ease onscreen as Ruco and Kenneth, despite him only being in a few dramas. And this is why he is promising and so impressive.

You nailed it with the word “charisma” though. Louis possesses this. Ruco does too. Kenneth took awhile to find his own brand of charisma (and was also lucky to be quite favoured internally at TVB whilst he was still getting in the groove) which is different from Ruco and Louis’ that gave him leading-man quality.

There are other good actors too like Raymond Wong (always almost a leading man), Edwin Siu but they lack the leading-men charisma.
I also find Vincent Wang having potential but he hasn’t been cast in enough dramas to determine if he has that leading-man charisma.
The new batch looks pretty-boy but can’t identify any with a striking charisma yet.

    3. Louis Cheung started out as a singer and I think he still sings.

He only got into serious acting these few years. We should thank Wong Cho Lam for casting him in ‘Inbound Troubles’ and letting people see his acting, thus, opening more doors for him.

      Check out his info here.
      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Cheung

He’s not a new staff in TVB. He hosted the first season of ‘Book of Words’ back in 2009.

The guy is multi-talented. He can sing, dance, act and compose songs. Too bad for years, he was overshadowed by his more famous wife, Kay Tse.

  22. Oh you guys are terrible. I so dont want to watch this drama – too many conspiratorial dramas with tvb lately – and the theme looked so intense and tragic. I get too emotionally wrapped up with the characters and then that depresses me too.

But… this is Louis Cheung! Even Roger Kwok doesnt sway me (since hes done this sort of role before AND i expect him to do a great job at it) but you guys are throwing me a curveball with comments like Leanne Li’s amazing and Louis Cheung is fabulous. Honestly, Louis for me is the contender right now for Raymond’s spot lol. I know that’s weird since Louis doesnt have Raymond’s clout but hot damn if he doesnt have Raymond’s swagger!!

Ohhh to watch or not to watch??!!

    1. Yes! I just picked up the series again, lol So exciting!

  23. Guys, don’t forget Louis Cheung was chosen by Cho Lam in Inbound Troubles to play that Chiu Chiu, so I’m quite sure he’s okay with Leanne’s kissing scene with Louis. Not like it’s real anyway 🙂

Support Louis Cheung/Marco for being such a badass and having a heart as well. Good portrayal and I agree that he and that Matt Yeung (Ugh, hating him in Come Home Love as Jaden, too sneaky and bending the rules) should be promoted more.

Also, do note that Matt had a criminal record before (Driving under the influence of alcohol) so he had to be demoted and took acting classes again. So, I feel kinda sorry for him.

    1. Also, Roger Kwok, how can you be so despicable in one drama and so funny in another? I like Roger and I think he is quite versatile, especially that role in Last One Standing woah..

      1. imho, Roger’s acting in LOS was better than the 26 or so episodes I’ve seen here.
