C-Kwan Takes on New Role as TVB J2’s Creative Director of Production

Under the new management guidance of Eric Tsang (曾志偉) and Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍), TVB has been heading into a new direction. Aside from launching new variety shows and dramas to compete against local station ViuTV, Eric has been scouting for new talent and recently appointed C-Kwan (Stephen Cheng 鄭詩君) to be J2’s new Creative Director of Production Division.

The 37-year-old member FAMA rapper and actor has hosted multiple variety shows, and appeared in supporting roles in TVB dramas. This year, C-Kwan also established his own production company with Tony Hung (洪永城) and Tommy Loz (盧思麟). The trio successfully pitched horror mini-drama The Haunted House Cleaner <凶宅清潔師> and secured TVB’s financial backing, with C-Kwan and Tommy as the scriptwriters.

Recognizing C-Kwan’s creativity and ability to light up screens with humor as he often brings up show ideas, Eric invited C-Kwan to join TVB’s management team. Eric hopes C-Kwan will be able to generate new content for J2 to attract younger audiences.

Beginning his new role on September 1, C-Kwan shared that he already has ideas for some creative projects. Asked what are his big plans for J2, C-Kwan answered humbly that he only has “small ideas” and that he would continue to build upon them. At the moment, he is not allowed to announce any details, but hopes others can feel his sincerity and look out for future content.

Although he will be reducing his onscreen workload, C-Kwan’s new position would not affect his music career and involvement with FAMA.

  1. C-kwan is pretty good. he does appear to be the thinking outside of the box type. i hope the bureaucracy of tvb won’t tie him down.

  2. Okay, I don’t understand what Eric Tsang is doing because he’s just appointing execs to do the work. WCL is smart to jump a sinking ship, there’s not much you can do when people don’t like your company. Good luck to C Kwan, he’s very creative.
