Claudia Wang’s Husband Arrested for Fraud
Chinese actress Claudia Wang Likun (王麗坤), 37, is currently in the process of getting a divorce after her husband was exposed to be a fraudster. The case is currently under investigation by the police.
Claudia was previously rumored to be dating Kenny Lin Gengxin (林更新) after collaborating in Stephen Chow’s (周星馳) 2017 Chinese New Year film Journey to the West: The Demons Strike Back <西遊伏妖篇>. They never confirmed their status but were often spotted on dates. Their relationship did not work out, and she ended up marrying a rich businessman who had been aggressively pursuing her in 2019.
However, Claudia’s husband is currently arrested for fraudulent activities. He had sold many homes in a schooling district, but in reality never received the developmental rights for the land. He is said to have defrauded homebuyers out of 800 million Chinese yuan.
Netizens suspect that Claudia has been living a life of luxury off the backs of the elderly whom her husband had defrauded of their life savings. It is said that her husband used CNY 50 million to buy Claudia a luxury home and a Rolls Royce.
After the news came to light, the actress’ CNY 220 million home and luxury car assets were frozen. It is also said that she has been summoned and taken away by the police.
