Damian Lau Popped Vincent Wong’s Jaw

Vincent Wong (王浩信) revealed at a recent promotional event that Damian Lau (劉松仁) had dislocated his jaw while they were filming for the infamous slapping scene in last year’s Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles <名門望族>.

The said scene involved Vincent’s character, Jimmy, getting slapped fourteen times in the face by his father, portrayed by Damian, while getting scolded.

Vincent said that he received fourteen harsh slaps in a row by Damian. A few days later, Vincent discovered that his jaw had been dislocated. After going through regular medical checkups, Vincent’s jaw is now popped back into place.

Vincent was asked if Damian’s slaps were as serious as Kenny Wee’s (黃浩) slap from Eric Tsang (曾志偉). Vincent laughed, “I don’t know who ‘Wong Ho’ is, but I do know ‘Wong Ho Shun’! He was slapped at least fourteen times in the face, but he didn’t sue anyone.”

It turns out that Vincent’s birth name, Wong Ho (王昊), is pronounced the same way as Kenny’s Chinese name, Wong Ho (黃浩).

  1. Hahaha..Wong Ho (王昊), is pronounced the same way as Kenny’s Chinese name, Wong Ho (黃浩), this is hilarious

Now Vincent Wong new nickname -> “14 Par”

  2. Vincent did a brilliant job in SSSS. It was 14 unbearable slaps that made me gasps! Well done!!!

    1. I agree too. He’s one of those very few supporting actors who has convincing acting skill.

    1. Id like to see you get slapped 14 times sandcherry. Maybe you can tell us if it’s too much lol

  3. i so love the ‘slapping’ scene. it was sooo good! both the slapper and slappee did well! lolz~!
high chauvinist dad taught his son a lesson by slapping him hard in his face.
    thumbs up!

  4. Clever answer!! I wonder how many takes until he dislocated his jaw? Can’t be just 1 take!

    1. Feel very bad for Vincent Wong. He was a very professional actor. My goodness ……1 take = 14 slaps, and if there were 3 takes, he would have had 14 x 3 = 42 slaps. No wonder his jaw was dislocated.

      1. Didn’t he mention in the award show that he got 90 over slaps because of the repeated takes?

      2. No, I did not watch that. Poor Vincent! Damian should have slapped him lightly if there were so many takes.

  5. I like Vincent Wong. He is tall and good looking. He acts quite well and deserves to be promoted by TVB, more than Oscar Leung and Edwin Siu.

    1. I don’t agree about Oscar. He deserve to be promoted by tvb more. I’m glad he won the most improved actor award.

      1. Oscar Leung has acted for a long time, too, ever since 2004.

    2. I am not fans of any of them…but I like to see all of them get promote (Vincent Wong, Edwin Siu, Oscar Leung) much more than Him Law (who only sale handsome look).

  6. Vincent Wong definitely is a good candidate for Most Improved/Best Supporting. Hopefully he will start taking lead roles.

    1. I don’t think he is ready for lead role yet, he doesn’t have too much of a present yet. Is kinda like Jason chan.

      1. Jason Chan is a god awful actor. Vincent Wong is a fantastic actor with great potential and he can play good guy, bad guy, whatever. He deserves a chance, unlike Mr Fidgeting Around Jason Chan who really needs to get his body checked or maybe in his previous life he was a female supermodel. He talks like one, and acts like one.

      2. He is much much better than Jason Chan. Do not know why he got the lead in Missing You. So far, I have not seen any improvement in his acting since Be Home For Dinner. Vincent Wong is surpasses in Jason in many ways.

      3. Agree. Vincent Wong is a lot better than Jason Chan. He can act good or villainous characters, plus he is tall and good looking. He deserves to be the next artiste for promotion.

      4. vincent’s definitely better than jason. i think tvb should take the time and slowly nurture vincent into lead roles instead of making the same mistake and just throwing lead roles at him right away (like what they did with jason), because jason’s case is seriously turning out bad lol. no one likes his acting as lead.

  7. At the beginning, I always messed them up …….. between Wong Ho Yin (Raymond) and Wong Ho Shun (Vincent). I thought they were the same person, or biological brothers. Later I found out that their Chinese surnames were not the same.

    1. They don’t look the same, but they both are good looking. I like Vincent’s voice more than Raymond’s.

      1. Vincent is a better actor although I think Raymond has more charisma.

      2. I think they are compatible, but I don’t quite like Raymond’s boring voice – one-toned. Raymond is a more experienced actor than Vincent though. Raymond has been acting for over 10 years (in ATV and films), while Vincent is a rising star in the last few years

  8. Ouch!! I can’t believe that he dislocated his jaw. Luckily slapping is prohibited in my family…

  9. Poor Vincent! What these actors have to go through to make it all seem realistic. Was it REAL slapping or just sounds of that?

    1. I think it was REAL slapping. Otherwise Vincent’s jaw would not be dislocated.

  10. I cried at the part where Vincent kneeled and keep slapping himself apologizing to Damian 🙁 🙁
And OMGoshh the same part where Elena scolding Damian!! Superb!!
Honestly, I really love this drama so much that I hope Damian is the one that get the Best Actor award!!
And yup, hopefully Vincent will get the recognition that he deserves soon ^^v

  11. Vincent is a great actor and should be given more opportunities by TVB. He actually started off as a singer first in his career which I had no idea until he disclosed it himself when he came over to Toronto as a guest performer for the Miss Chinese Toronto pageant. He actually can sing and has the voice too. I’m sure he had training before and I was impressed when he began singing.

    1. Yup, Vincent is a singer-turned-actor. His voice is quite nice too, but no luck as a singer, just like Edwin Siu. I think his first role in TVB was in War of In-Laws 2. He sang a duet with Myolie around that time.

  12. Glad that he’s fine now! During that scene, you can really tell that Damian didn’t “留手” LOL

    1. Feel sorry for Vincent after hearing that his jaw was dislocated as a result of those slaps. He should get an award for all these slaps! Unfortunately, he had many very good competitors in 2012 for Best Supporting Actor award.

  13. That was a great scene and Vincent did very well in this series. I hope, his star is rising and he gets promoted.

I was surprised to see Jason Chan taking the male lead in Missing You. He is tall and handsome but has no charm and needs improvement in acting. I think that all the supporting actors and guest stars were better than him.
