Esther Kwan Films ‘Five Flavors of Life’ with Derek Kwok
Esther Kwan Wing Hor and Derek Kwok Ching Hung were filming at an ancestral hall in Sheung Shui for TVB’s new series, “Five Flavors of Life” 《五味人生》. In the scene, the pair were suspected to have an affair. Thus, there was a public trial at the ancestral hall.
To prove his innocence, Derek had to open his pants and reveal that he was an eunuch. To give the illusion that he was nude before the camera, Derek had to roll up his boxers for the scene.
Was Derek embarrassed? “No! We are only filming! The purpose of the scene is to convey embarrassment. However, I feel that passionate love scenes are more awkward to film!”
Esther laughed, “There is nothing to see! Derek is an eunuch!”
On the day of filming, the weather was extremely hot. The cast had to constantly wipe their sweat and replenish their make-up. Esther laughed and said she was used to filming under “sauna-like” conditions.
