Faye Wong’s Daughter Shows Off Lesbian Lover?

Faye Wong‘s (王菲) daughter Dou Jingtong (Leah 竇靖童) may have dropped a hint about her sexuality when she posted an intimate close-up shot of herself and a blonde female friend on Instagram last week.

Currently studying in the United States, Leah has immersed herself into the local culture and music scene. Dabbling in song-writing in recent years, the 17-year-old has released several singles online and last week released an official music video for her song My Days. With a beautiful singing voice similar to her mother’s, many expect her to do well in the music industry and believe that she may one day become Faye’s successor.

As the child of a well-known superstar, Leah’s every move is constantly under public scrutiny. Last year, she was seen spending a day out in Hong Kong with a male friend, causing endless dating speculations. This week, reports are claiming that she has come out of the closet when several photos of herself with a female friend appeared online, each paired with ambiguous captions.

The press first noticed that a blonde woman, who goes by the username “blainerubenson”, posted a photo on April 12 showing herself pouting her lips at Leah’s face. The caption reads “Means the world to me… 8 months and I couldn’t be happier. My love.” A few hours later, Leah also shared a different photo of the two under her own Instagram account, saying, “8 is a good number.. can’t ask for anything better love.”

Both have previously posted other photos of each other with equally ambiguous messages, which further fueled the speculations. Although some feel that this is ordinary behavior between two close female friends, many seem to believe that the two are a couple and have flooded their Instagram with messages of blessings and support.

  1. I think the media is kind of jumping to conclusions………..girls in the Western society are always buddying up and being cozy to each other and doesn’t mean they are a couple……Asian media is so lame.

    1. For once,I agree with you. Just because 2 girls are close friends or take photos together does not mean that they are a couple. It is not just the Asian media, but Asians in general are like that. If they see people together, especially if it is a male and female then they just automatically assume that they are dating or are a couple.

    2. I am clear as a crystal that I am a straight female, but I get really close to my girlfriends too, even linking hands whenever we hang out. That doesnt mean I’m gay. These photos are selfies, you wouldnt expect in a selfie for people in it to be two human-space apart.

And even if her daughter turns out to be a lesbian, WHAT’S THE PROBLEM WITH THAT……….. it shouldn’t be a news headline. Especially when she’s a student and she hasn’t chosen entertainment as her career,so she shouldnt be in the medialol.

      1. 90% if not more women link arms when shopping or whatever. The fact that Jaynestars posts this means youre desperate for content.. is the Asian entertainment well all dried up really??

    3. Omg. You’re actually saying something nice. And I agree with you. Even if Leah is exploring her sexual orientation, so what?

      1. TOTALLY.

(1)Go into any high-schooler’s Facebook page these days – it’s all them blowing kisses at each other, or pouting at the camera in their selfies.

Most of them love cam-whoring. And yes all same sex. Some even have bikini shots of themselves and their friends all pouting at each other.

Times have changed. Mindsets have to change with it.

        (2) Even with she is lesbian, or bi … so what really? I am sure her avante-garde (supposedly) mom can stomach that.

        BIG deal about nothing.

    4. I think the media is jumping into conclusion because of the caption:
“Means the world to me… 8 months and I couldn’t be happier. My love.”

It’s not normal to declare something like that for a “friend.” I just wish the media would stop making such a big deal over someone’s sexual orientation.

  2. Don’t dismiss it. I guarantee she is lesbian.

Now if you are wrong, you’d better give me a billion dollars. Don’t defend her or be defensive. Don’t deny.

  3. faye wong life is already very eccentric and full of enigma…glad her daughter possess her singing skill which hope she will be her mother successor as faye is legend diva who do not want to record music anymore…hope her daughter can continue her singing career if she indeed have same voice

  4. anyways I get the impression she’s a junkie. complete disgrace to her parents, completely spoiled and westernised.

the image on the right, mocking the cleft lips of younger sister? btw she looks gross. certainly not someone I would want to meet irl.

    1. There is nothing wrong with being westernized. But yea it is not good to be a junkie if she is one. Her parents really need to keep an eye out for her and teach her well.

    2. @bob: she’s doing the duck lips. Many girls to it to make it look like they have fuller lips. I highly doubt she’s mocking anyone. Also, just because you have a certain ‘impression’ of someone, doesn’t make it true. How do you know she’s a junkie and spoiled and westernised? And even if she is, how is it immediately or necessarily a bad thing? Perhaps your jumping to judge is more of a disgrace.

    3. this is the current ‘selfie’ trend of modern teens across the world.
also actually these days ppl in hk are more westernised

  5. anyway that is not going to happen cuz i don’t want
to hear this show off lesbain lover………..i just hate
    hearing it……………

  6. These photos are just BFFs taking selfies and such. No need to even worry if they locked lips. But may need to worry when they’re on holiday and locked lips in private.

  7. So what happens if she is lesbian? It is not our business. What is wrong is those who think they are “more normal” than others

  8. Nothing wrong with that. If she’s a lesbian or not, That’s her business and not ours.

  9. She has a very complicated family background. Parents are divorced, parents are so famous, mother with 2 failed marriages, etc. And we expect this poor kid to grow up normal and obedient? Come on. She’s rebellious!

    1. Mom’s a very strong rebel too. So why should anyone, including Faye expect her child to grow up conventionally docile?

Just support the kid, in whichever direction she wants to go.

And why do people think she’s doing drugs?

If handled right – sometimes individualistic kids like that are normally wayyyyy more intelligent and creative than the socially docile/socially acceptable, listening type kids.

  10. her daughter is 17 already? Damn I must be getting old
