Grace Wong Leads the Virgin Pack

TVB actress and devout Christian, Grace Wong (王君馨), has recently led the paparazzi on a “virgin search” in the Hong Kong entertainment industry. Although Grace had always believed that a person’s sexual encounters and experiences should be kept private, Grace’s recent comment on her virginity and purity became a hot topic of discussion.

Grace stated, “My Christian beliefs started three years ago, and I was baptized two years ago. Before I became a Christian, I already believed that I should protect [my virginity]. I perform Latin dance and an actress, so there will be many chances for me to wear sexy clothing and film intimate scenes. If I feel that a scene is unacceptable, I will discuss it with the director. Whenever I wear revealing clothes, I will pray to God first. If I don’t feel safe wearing it, it means that God does not like it, and I will not wear it. I had my first boyfriend at 17, and every time I date, I would treat them as my marriage partner.

“I feel that my first time should be with my husband. It would be an amazing feeling to do it with my husband on our marriage night. That way, I don’t have to worry about getting an abortion or contract any sexually-transmitted diseases. If my boyfriend really loves me and treats me as his marriage partner, then he should be able to wait until marriage night!”

Grace also revealed that she has a room in her apartment that is especially for praying.

Grace is close friends with Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), Christine Kuo (苟芸慧), Eliza Sam (岑麗香), and Leanne Li (李亞男). The five women are also Christians and reportedly virgins. Last week, Linda, Christine, Leanne, and Grace were caught doing grocery shopping together. They later went to Grace’s new apartment and had dinner.

Grace said, “We had a housewarming party. Eliza also came later that night after she finished work. We chatted for over ten hours. We ate and prayed together. Envy is a sin for Christians. Sometimes, we can become envious of each other, but that is wrong. We will pray for each other for forgiveness.”

Other Virgins in the Hong Kong Entertainment Industry

Laurinda Ho (何超蓮): The 21-year-old daughter of Stanley Ho (何鴻燊) and his third wife, Ina Chan (陳婉珍), expressed that she has never dated, and has never had any kind of sexual encounter with anyone before.

Mag Lam (林欣彤): The Voice 2 <超級巨聲2> star once stated in an interview regarding premarital sex, “I am a Christian. [Premarital sex] is a bad thing!”

Leanne Li: Both Leanne and boyfriend, Wong Cho Lam (王祖藍) are devout Christians. Although they live together, they both pledged to abstain from sex before marriage.  When going out in romantic dates, they will ask their friends to come along, to help the couple “control their fire.”

G.E.M. (鄧紫棋): The 21-year-old with powerful vocals once revealed in an interview, “I am a virgin, and I will save [my virginity] for my husband after marriage.”

Eliza Sam: TVB’s new goddess openly expressed that she is a Christian, and that sex should not be treated casually.

Linda Chung: Although the Best Actress-hopeful once revealed that she was still a virgin during the beginning of her acting career.

Helena Law (羅蘭): The 77-year-old award-winning actress is a Catholic. Unmarried, it is not at all surprising that she may still be a virgin.

Yu Mo Lin (余慕蓮): The veteran actress has been single for many years, and dedicates most of her time doing volunteer work.

    1. 1. NO, they are probably not all virgins.
      2. If they are, then NO, no props to them. They are just incredibly stupid. Repressing an evolutionary need because of some imaginary being that they think live in the sky will not bring them to heaven. It will just leave them old maids, the end.
      3. Hong Kong needs to get over this obsession with purity and virginity. Just take a look at Gillian Chung from twin. Not so pure, and not so virginal. HK, WAKE UP and stop obsessing over such stupid and unrealistic illusions.

  1. I think that it is great these actresses have their point of view and religious beliefs, but no need for media to assume all Christians are against premarital sex or that only “bad” girls engage in premarital sex.

    1. Not all Christians are against premarital sex? really? Which church you attend?

      1. alot of Christians are only ‘Christians by name’, that’s why she said that

    2. Just because someone believes that Christ exists does not make him or her a Christian. Even the devil knows of Christ’s existence. A Christian by definition is a FOLLOWER of Christ, one who follows and obeys God.

A devout Christian is one who reads the Scripture, and if one reads the scripture, one would know that the Bible repeatedly says to abstain from sexual immorality.

“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality”
      1 Thessalonians 4:3

“Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled.” – Hebrews 13:4

  2. I agree and who will truly believe that they are telling the truth?? As we all know, celebs are known for lying through their teeth.

    1. thats very true. I do believe it’s good that showbiz females in HK still have this mindset i mean at least she’s not promiscuous but never know if they are really true but still surprising n good to hear since this Grace wong seem quite westernized and surprised and yet have this mindset to save herself for marriage. i think it’s rare to see and whether or not they are hypocritical is another story hahaa… remember that twins girl w/edison. i thinks she said somethign to that effect too and look what did ahahaa..lol…

  3. And Britney Spears also once said that she was a virgin …

      1. ahhahahah LOL…i think she openly disclosed it that Justin Timberlake is her first and she went downhill from there and cant believe she is still making tons of money after that crap hahaa…

  4. Lol…Hong kong ppl are so “mo liu”….they make sex seem like a big deal or news topic. who cares if they are virgins or not… in the US everything is open and it’s not a big deal… peaple have sex…people don’t. this shows HK people are so reserved…and they have to go for a “virgin hunt”….gawd

    1. Is she another crazy Christian?? Reminds me of Vanness Wu. His posts are really religion based.

      1. yeh all she post was thank god this and that, and also posted thing from the bible.

      2. Really?? Boy people that are too religious get brainwashed and strong opinionated as well as close minded to some extent.

      3. yep, she’s too obsess. I don’t see Eliza or Linda posted things about god or jesus.

      4. They are devoted in their religions and beliefs, why u can assume he or she is crazy christian? U definitely have very extraordinary definition for the word CRAZY.

      5. Vaness Wu said he’s a born again virgin. He may have sex before, but after he became a christian he practice celibacy.
        Definitely not a real virgin.
A born again virgin? I also doubt this. LOL

      6. @highliter123,
Have you encountered people who are obsessed with religion(I mean any religion in general) before?? If you have not, then you do not know what I mean. My mom, aunt and other family members are very religious too and it drives me nuts. They base everything on religion and are controlled by it. They knock anyone that is against them down and think anything their religion says is right. Trust me, if you have not encountered it yet, you will not know what I mean..

      7. Vanness Wu is not a virgin. He admitted to losing it at 17. But now he claims that he will not have sex again until he is married. I heard that that is why his current girlfriend wanted to break up with him many times.

      8. No, she is not a crazy Christian. She’s a devout Christian.

      9. What’s wrong with thanking God and posting meaningful quotes from the Bible in HER OWN weibo?

Thanking God is a good thing. It means she’s thankful for the things she has. Posting meaningful quote is to encourage people. Also a good thing.

I have a friend who likes to post meaningful quotes from the Bible on her Facebook too and I don’t think she’s crazy or a fanatic. In fact, I read her quotes too.

      10. Nothing wrong with Grace posting about God on her weibo. That’s her blog, if you don’t want to read it then don’t go. But those controlling freaks.. They also exists. Those that try to force christianity in your life? That exists, but people can do what they want with their lives. Just leave it out of mine.

      11. Kidd, agree with you. Same thing like quoting from Buddha’s teaching etc. It’s her weibo and she is religious so what’s wrong? Not like she is training some women to fly 2 helicopters straight st some twin buildings.

By the way in the above picture she looks a bit like Shirley Yeung.

      12. “No, she is not a crazy Christian. She’s a devout Christian.”

An example of a devout Christian.

“May the graces of God bless you always. Amen”

An example of a crazy Christian.

“Jesus is the ONLY true son of God. All others are not. If you say otherwise, you will die a terrible death and your soul cast into the abyss of deepest hell. Amen.”

    2. I believe whether you’re a Christian or not u should save it till you’re married.

      1. Not for girls these days unfortunately. Her friends will laugh at them. Sad …..

      2. I believe in checking out the merchandise. But whatever rocks your boat, Just don’t do, and upload to youtube or facebook for the world to see.

      3. I agree. My partner and I are both virgins until we’re married despite dating for about 10 years and it’s not due to religious beliefs. We knew each other when we were in our teens and knowing we’re too young to take the responsibility of taking care of a child, we both agreed on abstinence. Of course there’s hugging and kissing but we don’t proceed all the way.

      4. Marriage is a status, not everyone view this status as equally important. One could simply found the love of their life, but for some reason of not getting that certified paper, they can’t have sex?

I think whether have sex pre or after marriage is not as important as you are not a slut, and don’t sleep around. Should save yourself after marriage is again a bit naive, my aunt always says you need to check the goods, if he can’t make you happy in bed, you will not have a happy marriage :p and only when you venture into this area that you know for sure whether you are truly made for each other. And to go through the whole marriage then divorce due to unhappy sex life, I rather just do it before hand :p

    3. I’m so confused with these devouted Christians, they all claims that they’re virgins & here to serve god…this and that but at the same time they all sell sex. Look at Grace, she dresses like a hoochie half the time…is that her way of serving god?
Speaking of Vanness, is guys is all about selling his body, he’s worst than Usher lol. Another one is Wong Cho Lam, who loves to preach about god, but makes a living from cross dressing & doing stripper moves. So, the Christian moto is “it’s ok to sell your body visually & be the biggest tease in the room as long as there’s no intercourse”….interesting.

      1. Sometimes religion is really hard to understand and depends on each individual’s understanding of its teachings. I always believe it all boils down to us personally. We should have our own principles and moral conduct to live by and not based on pressure by other factors (religious or otherwise). Whatever we choose to believe in, we should not force our beliefs on others thinking we’re superior. You want to teach someone, give birth to your own child and teach him/her.

      2. @LOL –

I get what you are saying and I honestly felt the same way for the longest time, however, I recently found God (Aug. 4th, 2012 – to be exact) and my perspective on things have changed. Even though God is in my heart and I am 100% sure of his existence, I still have a lot to learn from his Scriptures. I may still be doing a lot of bad things in the eyes of other Christians because of my ignorance.

I pray that these mistakes will not be the cause for nonbelievers to think poorly of God.

        God bless.

  5. Is there an error in Stanley Ho’s Chinese name?? His name sounds like a woman’s name.

      1. Jayne,
Thanks and no wonder his name sounded strange and feminine.

    1. I hate to construct a pun, but someone with the last name of “Ho” is a virgin.

  6. I don’t feel it’s necessary to start compiling a list of virgins. It’s their private life and has no bearing on any of else. Besides, there’s no true way to know who is really a virgin. The list is just pointless and I find it insulting discussing the sex lives of senior actresses in the article. I doubt they appreciate being talked about in such a manner.

    1. Exactly, there is no need to speculate on the sex lives of celebrities. People should be able to have some control of their personal lives and change their mind about things said in early 20s.

Complete insult to make assumptions about senior single actresses.

      1. Complete insult to make assumptions about senior single actresses.
        ——————————————
        Agree.

    2. I agree with you, it is rude to put Helena Law & other senior actresses on this stupid list or even mentioning them.

      1. Not to mention, the article just assumes they’re virgins because they’re Christians. That’s like assuming all Christians are against homosexuality, which isn’t true.

      2. Christians should not be having pre-marital sex. If you have sex before marriage, you are committing a sin.

  7. If these actresses are truly still virgins, props to them, I really respect their perseverance.

But for some from the list above, I don’t believe that they really are virgins.

I’m not religious, but I still believe that sex shouldn’t be treated casually. Yet I don’t think that it makes a girl “bad” if she engages in premarital sex, as long as she’s in a committed relationship, and truly loves her other half.

    1. Yes. I agree with you too. Most girls enter a relationship with a guy hoping it’ll end in marriage. Usually guys equate love with the physical act of it while girls place importance on the emotion. Just because she’s not a virgin doesn’t mean she’s a bad girl.

  8. ” That way, I don’t have to worry about getting an abortion or contract any sexually-transmitted diseases.”

If you are in a committed relationship with a responsible boyfriend, you shouldn’t have to worry about those either.

    1. The problem is you may be responsible, but you can’t be 100% sure about your partner. Haven’t anyone heard of contraception and safe sex?

      1. Is she Catholic? LOL, Catholics are mostly against contraceptives.
        Maybe that’s why?

  9. Helena Law I am not surprised. Always thought her other career choice would have been a nun. Mag Lam of course, she is still very young. Linda? Really?

The rest I am not familiar with them.

What’s with the press lately? Guys saying they love porn, now girls saying they haven’t been touched, so to speak.

    1. Seems like only sex related topics get on the news now
      – Porn loving
      – Think about sex everyday
      – Car shaking
      – Virgins
      Choose one.

      1. Car shaking is a non issue. The only shaking in the car is Him’s excitement that he is getting some good publicity.

    2. I think the artistes just want to get more publicity when they talk about sex which should be a very personal matter.

Life is very different in Hong Kong now I guess.

    3. I did not know before that Helena Law was not ever married.

  10. This is 2012. Are there seriously still virgins above 18 these days? nah i’m just kidding. please don’t take me seriously.

This article is fishy.. I suspect whoever wrote this article did it so that the former boyfriends of these five girls would suddenly appear and say “nah she’s not a virgin and I wouldn know it”

Like what Justin said about Britney a few years back? And what Cyndi Wang’s ex boyfriend did?

  11. Anyway why are people so interested in whether the people they watch on tv everyday are virgins or not. does it make a difference on your impression of them?

  12. It’s good to save your virginity for your husband, but there’s no need to impose your ideas, flaunt it to people, or demoralize people who do practice pre-marital sex.

    1. Probably when they do that it’s to give them the strength to go on – after all, if I’m not getting it, you shouldn’t too? Ha, ha, ha…

  13. There is no need for celebrities to talk about their personal sex lives to the public!!!

  14. I don’t know if I’m the only one who is feeling this, and by no means does my opinion speak the truth, but I feel like Christians are way more devout and bible-loving than the Catholics. All the Catholics I know are pretty chill, and they don’t preach their religion. They also don’t seem to be easily offended when others are attacking/joking about their religion.

As for the Christians, I feel like they’re the more extreme ones.

    1. Agreed. Met many cool Catholics who laughs along the Jesus jokes. I once had a school friend who was having stomach ache and refuses to see a dr because she says God will cure her if her faith is strong enough. What more can you say except the best of luck since God is pretty busy.

      1. That girl is quite the extremist. None of my Christian friends are like that at all.

    2. That is true from what I have encountered too. Catholics generally are not as bad as those devout Christians are.

      1. So are you saying it is bad to be devoted to something such as religion? It takes courage to speak up and stand out differently in a society where people no longer care about their virginity. I admire grace greatly for her this.

      2. I am not saying it is bad but it depends how you go about it. If you try to force your beliefs on others or go on and on about religion 24/7 then I do not feel that is necessarily a good thing. I personally believe that we need to think for ourselves instead basing every aspect of our lives on religion. It is ok to when appropriate but not all the time. However, people can do what they like as long as they do not bother others or force their beliefs on others.

    3. I only have Christians come knocking on my door trying to convert me.

    4. I know for sure this is true. -_-

My old friend dated a Christian and she was a Catholic. It did not goes well, he wanted her to tell her parents that she will convert to his religion, and she says no…it all went down-hill.

However, in this generation, Catholic are more chill now a day instead of during the previous one. And now Christian are going out and saying “against homosexual and kill them.” But, it is the Catholic or the whole God’s religion name that gets blame. So tire of it… -_-

    5. When you guys are already into this then to tell the truth im a catholic, and me and my parents even that we practice our religion, then we still are open minded about other religions. Like my mom said to me “religion is something you can’t see, is up to each of us to decide what we want to believe on”

on the other hand I have my aunt that is christian, all i hear from her is God is the right thing to believe in and that he is the only God.

      1. But then again, i also know christian people that actually don’t care, so i guess it will always be extreme Christian/catholic people, people who practice but still open minded and people that don’t care.

    6. The Catholic Church IS a CHRISTIAN denomination.

By isolating Catholics from the general Christians population, are you suggesting otherwise?

Boy, the Vatican would definitely hit the roof to hear this. LOL!

As for Catholic being more laid back on attacks in comparison with their Protestant and Orthodox co-religionists,go take a look at Northern Ireland, or what happened to Sinead O’Connor after she had torn up a picture of the Pope on TV. LMAO!

      1. That’s why I wrote on my second post, there will always be extreme christian/Catholic people, people who is more open minded and people that don’t care. One thing is for sure, never put people under one boat. I never saw the pope picture, but we can take the rosary necklace, For Catholic people, then this necklace is really holy, chatolism use it to pray, and should only use it as a pray necklace, but on the other hand, nowdays those necklace has become fashion, people who don’t believe use it as a fashion necklace, and I haven’t heard anything about that.

      2. But then again it is something calling respect, if you want respect you should respect other people, and for this one, she may not find the pope important, but to catholic people, the pope is really important. Maybe banning her was overboard, but in my oppinion then it was not right of her to do that either.

      3. They’re different which is why in history they kill each other.

      4. P/S

“As for Catholic being more laid back on attacks in comparison with their Protestant and Orthodox co-religionists,go take a look at Northern Ireland, or what happened to Sinead O’Connor after she had torn up a picture of the Pope on TV. LMAO!”

I believe the same reaction if the Dalai Lama’s picture is torn. Laid back means Jesus jokes Tearing the representative of the religion’s picture is not funny and the reaction is understandable.

      5. By the way, Sinead O’Connor, who had torn up the Pope’s picture on TV, was herself an Irish Catholic.

I am still confused by the distinction between Christian and Catholics. Could this be due to the chinglish confusion over Protestantism?

      6. The differences is Catholic people pray and look up to virgin Mary as an ideal person. And Catholic people also believed that Virgin Mary was living her whole life as a virgin person, while Christian people only see Virgin Mary as Jesus mom, and they don’t believe she was a virgin untill she died, and Catholic people believes that when they are havin mass, then the bread and wine becomes Jesus flesh and blood, while Christian believes that the bread and whine is just symbol on Jesus flesh and blood, I think It was something like that.

      7. The basic difference I know of between protestants (general) and catholics is this;

Catholics path to god is through the priests as a conduit. Which is why they have confessional booths; you confess your sins and is absolved through the priests hence the importance of the priest.

Protestants need not do that. They confess directly to god, needing no middle person so to speak.

Whilst christians generally encourage charity, in Catholic they can only absolve their sins and go to heaven not just by accepting jesus as the son of god and confessing your sins but as an act of penetance (how to spell it?!) or remorse or to absolve your sin and go to heaven you earn points by doing charity like the catholics having missionaries going to some god forsaken place (no pun intended).

And I also believe virgin mary is also a huge difference.

I am not an expert but that much I do know.

But in the past the denomination is because of politics. Religious implications were rather frivolous, it was more about money, power, politics.

And the most extremes are not christians. Nowadays extreme belongs to one religion I shall not speak of.

      8. “And Catholic people also believed that Virgin Mary was living her whole life as a virgin person, while Christian people only see Virgin Mary as Jesus mom, and they don’t believe she was a virgin untill she died”

Hmm.. I don’t understand. How can a mother be a virgin? Sorry, I’m not familiar with religions.

I think the level of extremity is dependent on the countries they live in.

      9. uhm I am bad at explanation but Virgin Mary got pregnant with Jesus by the holy spirit from God. Let make it easy, God just sended Jesus down from heaven, and chosed Virgin Mary to be his mom. So she didn’t do anything but just got pregnant aka no sex. Off course Angel Gabrel came down and told her about her pregnancy.

The country is one thing, family is another.

      10. @Terminator

“I am still confused by the distinction between Christian and Catholics. Could this be due to the chinglish confusion over Protestantism?”

Same here, I wonder if the distinction is a linguistic or regional thing. The way I understand it, Catholicism is one of the denominations/branches under the umbrella term Christianity. But over here (I’m in Singapore) I’ve heard people insist that Catholics aren’t Christians i.e. they treat “Christian” to be a synonym for “Protestant”.

      11. @Linnh
Oh I see, thanks! Yup, I agree family impacts too, basically the surrounding.

      12. This has gone back to the days of The Reformation when both Catholics and Protestants accused each other of not being “true Christians”. Prior to the Reformation, all Christians belonged to the Catholic Church.

I am just surprised by how some here MISUSED the term “Christians” as only applicable to those from Protestant denominations, especially the evangelicals. Such misuse is not always innocuous because of the implications. Say one tells the Pope that he is not a Christian but only a Catholic. Hmm…

      13. In that Term then I agree with you Terminator, I should have used protestant or baptism, instead. Because Christian is a common word for everybody that believes in God and Jesus.

      14. The immaculate conception. Long story short; she got pregnant but she was still a virgin. The rest is up to your imagination.

      15. Some scholars think that the term ‘virgin’ is a mistranslation and the original Hebrew word used (ha-almah) just mean ‘young girl’.

      16. The Catholic Church IS a CHRISTIAN denomination.

I am very aware of that. I apologize for my ignorance as I am not religious nor am I a theologist, and the only religion lesson I ever had in my life was from my European History class way back in high school. I have never heard Catholics refer to themselves as Christians, but I have heard Protestants call themselves Christians.

It’s exactly like saying to people “I speak Chinese” and people start to converse with you in Mandarin, but the Chinese you were actually referring to was Cantonese.

  15. Honestly I doubt about the news, but Christian, should they keep their virgin until marriage, most of my friends are Catholic so I don’t really know but still this sounds weird and even Bollywood stars can have sex before marriage.

    1. Well then you are award of that catholic should keep their virginity untill they are married too? lol I think the virginity thing is a common thing for all christian, but the question is only do they keep the law of virginity.

  16. Agree with you lot, some things should be kept private.

It’s sad that some people are afraid of Christians because i have been one
since i was a kid. As a Christian we are suppose to spread the words of God
but I don’t preach to my friends, i guess this makes me not a very good Christian.

Being a Christian really helped me throughout my life, like when i lost my dad
and this year when i had a difficult pregnancy.

    1. Then you’re not the fanatic kind. I have some devout Christian friends who are not fanatic – they’re very kind and supportive. I also have those fanatic kind who wants to convert you on every occasion and gets worked up when someone tells a dirty joke. Even seeing an ad from a company about choosing the sex of a baby gets her worked up due to the killing of sperms (while she’s frothing about it, i didn’t dare mention about those poor sperms drowning in the shower when one masturbates).
Then there is the talk about saving you from going to hell on judgement day if you believe in God and repent your sins. God loves us so much he sacrificed his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for us. I asked “if God love us so much, will he forgive us and still let us go to heaven if we only believe in his existence when we see him instead of now denouncing all other God/religion? After all, i have not committed any sin (except not being a Christian)”. Wrong thing to say and was subjected to cold shoulder thereafter 🙁

      1. I am a Buddhist & AM proud of this fact. All beliefs can go to Heaven. Regardless of which one; one follows. So long one is kind, compassionate & being a sincere, helpful person. Do no evil, do good & (try the best) to purify the mind. Claiming one has to be this religion or that religion in order to go to Heaven is hogwash! Your God is real & others are not? Liken to kids saying “my Dad can beat up your Dad.” Does Heaven or the Sky have demarcations/ boundaries drawn ? Come on… .! Get real.

      2. I feel that Christianity has more fanatics or they may be wished to be called devout (around my area, just from what I observed). I’ve met at least 4 different groups of people inviting me to go to their churches. There was once when we were having meals in the school canteen, and 2 students just came up to us to persuade us to go to their church for a really long time.
I went to a church before and the pastor kept saying something like “If you wish to be free/cleanse your sins, Jesus will accept you/forgive you for what you’ve done and you can achieve ___.” Some implications to me.
I’ve also watched a BBC clip, where they invited a representative from Jewish and one from Christianity over some issue and the Jewish rep was quite calm and neutral while the Christianity rep was agitated and sounded offended and the comments made by them were neutral.

Anyway, I believe these are the minority, since I won’t take much notice of those quiet ones. Most of my Christian friends won’t preach their beliefs to us or persuade us to follow them, they just keep their beliefs to themselves and are quite chill.
I prefer the neutral ones much more! I mean, religion is a personal thing, is what you believe in, why do you want to change others’ beliefs to yours. There shouldn’t be any elitism. I’m saying this in general, not specific to any religion.

      3. Hmm. I’ve experienced a similar thing where two random people came up to me in a library and struck up a (long) conversation on Christianity. They seemed rather nice, but I couldn’t help feeling awkward… Towards the end, they were inviting me to their church and gatherings, like watching Christian films together. There are also Jehova’s Witnesses that turn up on my doorstep.

I respect people’s choices, but I wish they’d stop dragging me into such topics.

      4. Ok, I think the reason why people may find protestants on the whole (lumping them in a group), more cuckoo than Catholics, is due to the importance some protestant subgroups place on evangelism. Think about it, how many Christians that have invited you to church are Catholics?

      5. Nellymolly, I share the same thoughts as you and pray to the Goddess of Mercy, Guan Yin. Being open minded towards other religion, I don’t mind listening if they want to share/discuss their beliefs as there’s no harm in understanding more.
I personally believe in the existence of one God (who cannot be defined as a He/She) with many angels/helpers, and in order to reach out to each and everyone, they chose to appear in the form of what each of us perceive God to be like. Hence the different religion or version everyone has (and the sick mind of some doing evil deeds claiming they’re doing God’s errands).
No matter what, believing in the existence of God (and I mean this for all religion) is important because if a person has no fear of an Almighty Being who knows what we do/say, then that person is bound to commit sins/crime without fear of repercussion and no sense of right/wrong. Having faith in our God is also important when we face any crisis which at that moment we may think there’s no way out. Our faith will make us strong and believe we can make it through and Someone cares enough that we do.
As an adult, some cynics may say it’s all bullshit and up to a strong individual to make it through instead of believing in God. But for a child, it is important for them to have faith in God in order to guide them to a proper path through adulthood. Just my 2 cents worth.

  17. Reminds me of my friends when we were younger. All talked about being virgins and saving sex for marriage. Then it turns out all were engaging in oral sex with their bfs. I was so naive and didn’t know what oral sex was but I was told oral sex is not considered sex and only intercourse can devirginize you. What do you guys day on that? I don’t see how giving a blow job is virginly.

    1. Oral sex is sex. If someone has already performed oral sex, that person should technically no longer be a virgin.

      1. hahaha, technically you are still a VIRGIN if you never have an intercourse with a man. But not sure if a woman is using vibrator though, still a virgin then?

      2. @Ray

In this case our perception of virginity differs. I believe that once you have performed any type of sex, you’re no longer a virgin — intercourse or not.

      3. Cloud, disagree. Virginity is defined by breaking of hymen which in the past people think only can be done by penetration. Nowadays with so many active activities, that is just too easy. Basically virgin mean you have never had sexual intercource. Oral sex is foreplay, prelude to sex. Not sex. So do everything else but the main thing and you’re still technically physically a virgin but mentally.. ooh la la!

    2. Agree with Funn’s definition of virgin as the breaking of hymen. Do you know hymenoplasty i.e. plastic surgery is available for those who want to construct/repair their hymen? I read about women marrying middle eastern guys who undergo the surgery so that their husband wouldn’t know they’re no longer a virgin.

      1. Oh my gosh! Are you serious?!! What the heck…Going through a surgery so their husband wouldn’t know, she should not married him on a lie then.

      2. Okay that is pretty extreme to go to such lengths to conceal a lie.

      3. I’ve watched a series with a case about a woman undergoing the surgery to make her seemed like a virgin. In the end her husband found out he contracted STD from her.

      4. For some culture it is a matter of life and death so the procedure is for some a good thing.

      5. Funn is right. We may consider ourselves lucky if the majority of those in our country are not into extremism. In certain country/culture, they even stitch the girls up in order to ensure they’re still virgins when delivered to the husbands (look up female genital mutilation and you can read all the horrors). Think of having to put your own daughter through it either due to pressure or religious beliefs, it’s truly heartbreaking.
And then there are those who may want to marry into prominent families who places importance on purity, maybe the surgery is a blessing.

    1. True better market value. Virgins are hard to find these days. But yes there are still ways to go about it and still remain basically a virgin.

      1. I would think that nowadays, especially for those in the entertainment industry, as long as you’re not involved in any sex scandal, acted in any porn movies (self made or otherwise), don’t have your naked pics all over the internet, etc.. would be sufficient.
Expecting a daughter-in-law to be a virgin is a bit unrealistic.

  18. So she is Christian and still a virgin who cares. Does she have to reveal it to the public?

Seems like a strategy to get PR since she is basically a KLF.

    1. It is kind of sad to have to use the fact that you are a virgin or not in order to promote yourself if that is what they are truly doing.

      1. Maybe their purpose of doing it is to set themselves as good role model for the young teens nowadays? Though I doubt it’s effective.

  19. “Linda Chung: Although the Best Actress-hopeful once revealed that she was still a virgin during the beginning of her acting career.”

    How about now?

      1. Do you know? Philip came back to the title “Linda’s rumoured bf”. He admits, she denies, lolz, the Boscolie game is on.

      2. If she is still a V, then either Philip is getting it elsewhere or he has mastered self-discipline to the highest degree. Like some self-control kung fu.

      3. It is something names Porn lol Maybe he gets help from there 😛

    1. How can they know she’s still virgin, she said so or being checked?

      1. The sentence said that she revealed it herself, nobody checked for her 😛 (and how to check?)

Remind me of a troll story: A guy wants to get married with a girl, so he comes to ask for the opinion of a doctor. The doctor tells him to bring the girl to see him and he has sex with her. After that he tells the guy: “I don’t know your girl is a virgin before me or not, but now I can confirm to you she is not.”

      2. I don’t know, just find it’s funny that people reveal themselves as being virgin, isn’t it private thing and why do they have to speak up?

    2. hahaha yes, i do agree in the very beginning Linda Chung does seem like a green, innocent and trusting newcomer but after all these years???? i really doubt she is still true in this list of females haha…lol…

  20. Seriously, this is news? No one cares if she’s a virgin or not. Before reading this article, i thought she was okay. Now i just think she’s weird, with the whole praying before wearing revealing clothes thing. Giving too much private details in an interview ain’t a good thing. UNLESS you’re trying to be funny like Kenneth 🙂

  21. I know a few of these crazies, they’re all talk. Their definition of a “virgin” is no intercourse but everything else is game. Truly pathetic & lame!

  22. oh well at least these girls don’t have to worry about him law asking them if they’re virgin lol.

  23. Have they been performing medical check ups on Helena Law and Yu Mo Lin all these years to confirm such claims?

Articles like this has become a warning sign for us that we should all get a life.

  24. I thought when I click on this post, it was going to be about Grace Wong interview. Then virgin and actress/singer in the Hong Kong Industry pop up.

Why did the media try to find out about actress who are from Canada with a Christian’s background about their sexual life?? Some we do not know behind close door…

    1. Hong Kong sure is changing their ways of news now a day. I wish they would have a compare who is a good actor/actress on the dramas. Would like some debate on what the reviewer/reader/fan think.

  25. I’d trust Leanne Li is still a virgin, IF cho lam is her only boyfriend. She’s probably turned off by his tiny size, so rather not do it.

  26. I find it disconcerting that in this day and age a woman is judged and defined by virginhood before marriage. Is there additional judgement if they choose not to have children after marriage?

Heavens forbid if divorce happens several years after marriage. Are they now “ruined”? Thought we left the dark ages.

  27. I don’t know if she is honest or not..But I am sure what she says now is correct. I do not agree Pre-marriage sex. This is what i teach my pre-teen girls too. Yes. It is what the bible teach us. And what the bible says is good and protect us. It is like a manual for everyone on how to live this life.

  28. When I was brought up I was always told that there were three taboo topics in “polite” company.

    1) Sex
    2) Religion
    3) Politics

Grace is only one strike away from striking out completely… lol.

  29. Hong Kong entertainment reporters have nothing better to write?!?

  30. If this group of artists declare they are still virgin, for my opinion is a free world there is no right or wrong. Put it this way keeping own “V” of coz is much holy than losing them.., but ..some times no one can guarantee you can keep that long..

  31. They should converted to Tom Cruise’s religion Scientology for heaven sake 🙂

  32. Honestly, this doesn’t need to be news and this info is personal anyway.

  33. My question is, why is it anyone’s business whether they are virgins or not? Just because they are a public figure does not mean there very intimate, private activities need to be shared with every person who has access to the web.

    1. It is no one’s business but the thing is they chose to reveal to us, not us hounding them for information.
