Hilary Chong Says “No” to Dating Roger Kwok

Roger Kwok (郭晉安), 60, met Miss Hong Kong winner Hilary Chong (莊子璇), 23, on the set of TVB drama Golden Forest <金式森林>. They got along very well and Roger was spotted coaching Hilary in tennis and even organized a surprise birthday party for her. Netizens noticed Roger appears more youthful, speculating that he has been working out for Hilary and leading to widespread rumors of a “father-daughter romance.”

Hilary appeared in North Point to film for variety show Good Cheap Eats <食好啲> and addressed the rumors. She clarified, “Actually there were other cast members there on the day we played tennis. Matthew Ho (何廣沛) was there as well. Since we’re inexperienced, Roger taught us how to play.” When asked about rumors that Roger has been working out to look younger because of her, Hilary replied, “Roger actually looks very young. In the previous drama, he had to wear special makeup to age himself. Now that he’s back to his real self, maybe that’s why people think he looks younger. Artistes always need to maintain a good figure, so exercising is just part of the job.”

When asked if there is room for romantic development, Hilary replied, “No, we have a father-daughter relationship. Our group is like one big happy family. I hope Roger doesn’t mind people saying things like that, because we all know it’s a very good, familial relationship.”

Hilary added that she does not see anything wrong in dating an older man, “I don’t really have an age limit. I believe love transcends nationality, age, and gender.” Reporters continued to persist asking again if there was a chance to develop further with Roger and she continued to say they could develop an even stronger family bond before giving up and replying “no” to becoming boyfriend and girlfriend.
