Him Law Shares Joy of Seeing Birth of His Daughter

Although Him Law (羅仲謙) is in the middle of filming new TVB drama Armed Reaction 2020 <陀槍師姐2020>, many reporters showed up at the film set to congratulate Him and Tavia Yeung (楊怡) on the birth of their daughter. Excited to start their new chapter of life as parents, the couple nicknamed their bundle of joy as “little pearl” after seeing how their daughter is so small and precious. In a good mood, Him spoke with the reporters about witnessing the birth of his daughter.

Revealing that his daughter was born earlier than expected, Him shared, “We had to follow the doctor’s advice to perform a Cesarean section. The baby weighs 6 pounds and she reminded my mother-in-law of a pearl.” Him said that his daughter doesn’t have a name yet and will let the elders to decide her name.

With regards to holding a banquet for his daughter, Him said it would depend on the Covid-19 situation, but he believed that Tavia would want a dinner with family.

While Tavia’s sister Griselda Yeung (楊卓娜) commented that the baby resembled Him, he disagreed, “I think she looks like my sister and father more.” Following Chinese traditions, Him declined to say his daughter is beautiful and teased that his daughter is “ugly and is a smelly pig.”

Witnessing Daughter’s Birth

As a new father, Him revealed that he brought a camera to record the birth of his daughter and was able to cut her umbilical cord, “The nurse asked me, ‘Can you really do it?’ I responded that it would be like filming and I wasn’t scared. When my daughter was born, I picked her up and saw she still had blood on her. I was emotional and felt that she was worth everything. I need to thank the anesthesiologist. After he was done, he helped us film and take a picture. Since I wasn’t able to do many things, I took a lot of pictures.”

Him also confessed that he had a hard time leaving his daughter for work, “Right now when I’m at work, I miss my daughter. I was late for work today while watching her have milk. I originally wanted to stay and watch her for a minute, but I ended up staying for five minutes. Right now, my daughter is losing her water weight and she looks different every day.”

When the reporter asked if Him would try to have another child soon, he replied, “I will follow doctor’s advice; maybe in six to nine months. There was a Cesarean section, but the process went smoothly. I will continue to work until the end of the year. I will have a month break in between filming and will be dedicated in taking care of her.”

Him shared that Tavia will be a full-time mother for the next three months and will think about filming after she recovers.
