Koni Lui Moved Back to Her Parents’ Place with Her Son

Koni Lui (呂慧儀) and Dickson Wong’s (黃文迪) separation after seven years of marriage came as a surprise, but even more unexpected was former friend Kelly Fu (傅嘉莉) adding fuel to the fire. Kelly, who was a bridesmaid for Koni in 2011, wrote a long post accusing the two for using her for publicity in 2013. Bogged down with such accusations, a troubled Koni tiredly went to work to shoot for TVB sitcom Come Home Love: Lo And Behold <愛·回家之開心速遞> . Despite the reporters bombarding her with questions regarding the situation, she stayed strong and smiled for pictures.

When the media asked her how she was holding up, Koni replied, “I will go to work as usual. I will not respond to other things, so thank you for your concern. I will live as usual. I have no comment regarding my personal life, so you don’t need to ask me again. I will concentrate on doing my job well and taking care of my child.”

She continued to be tight-lipped even on questions about Kelly, and rushed inside the studio following a question on whether or not Dickson had a new girlfriend. Upon completion of shooting, she drove straight to her parents’ neighborhood and headed to a nearby supermarket to buy dinner. Greeting the reporter, she told the reporter she needed to rush home to “tend to the ‘boss’” and buy him strawberries as he’s craving it. Then she went to the nearby dried seafood shop to buy herbal ingredients. “My son has a few coughs, so I bought some things to brew soup for him,” she revealed.

During her outing, many locals recognized her and asked her for photographs. She seemed in good spirits, obliging to the pictures and acknowledging passersby who greeted her. Once she was done with her errands, she returned to her parents’ residence, where she used to live with them. Then, she uploaded a photo of her and her son on social media. It was captioned, “my only love.”

  1. i guess in a way good move so that she gets help but maybe not so great if she wants to find love….

  2. Always like her role in Come Home Love. Off camera, her strong and resilient attitude have my respect. Good that she places all her attention on her child instead. Way to go, Koni!

Firstly, Koni puts up a brave front in public; she still goes to work as usual, and takes care of her son. Her action of putting up a brave front and placing her attention on work and her son instead of dwelling on her divorce make me feel that she is a strong and resilient person. And it is not easy to be a single mum. Koni decided to go through divorce and to become a single mum do imply to me that she is a strong person.
Secondly, I really like her character in CHL that I have a good impression on her. Maybe this is why I side her. I don’t mind if you say I am biased towards her.
Hence my view is pretty subjective. It based on my own judgement. I don’t mind if you disagree with me. After all, there isn’t really a specific standard in judging things, is it?
