Phoebe Sin Gives Ruco Chan 200 Points as a Great Husband

Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) and Phoebe Sin (單文柔) welcomed the birth of their daughter Quinta in early April. Experiencing the joy of being parents, the couple shared their experience in delivering their baby.

Delivery Room Experience

Thinking back of his experience in the delivery room, Ruco had very fond memories, “I witnessed the whole process of my wife giving birth. I actually wasn’t moved to tears, but I was really happy to have my own child. The whole experience was very joyous and heartwarming. While cutting the umbilical cord, I was scared of accidentally cutting the nurse’s hand.  I joked that my daughter was spitting bubbles like a crab. It was the amniotic fluid. I then asked why she had curly hair. It turned out that after showering, babies’ hair changes. I thought it was really cute.”

In comparison to Ruco, Phoebe was under anesthesia and didn’t have more memories of the process. Phoebe shared, “I was under anesthesia and although I was conscious, my memory is fragmented. Prior to the C-section, the doctor asked what songs I wanted to listen to relax. I wanted to listen to Ruco’s songs, so now I only remember hearing Ruco’s songs and the baby crying.”

Taking Care of Quinta

As new parents, Phoebe is full of praises for Ruco, “My family gives Ruco 100 points, but I give him 200 points for being a good husband. During my pregnancy, Ruco tried his best every step of the way. I used to think he was manly, but I noticed him changing since I became pregnant. In the delivery room, he participated in the process. Even though we hired helpers after I gave birth, he still wanted to learn how to change diapers and feed the baby.  Even on the days he has work, he came back to check on me. It makes me feel loved.”

As Ruco saw the pain Phoebe went through to give birth to Quinta, he is starting to think that having one child is enough, “Giving birth, whether through C-section or through natural birth, is very hard on the mother. Even when I heard my wife getting a needle shot, my heart would ache for her. I don’t want to see her in pain again and that’s why I probably won’t want to have another child. In the end, I will let my wife to decide. I will respect her decision.”

Ruco should calm down this ‘I’m a man’ protectiveness once again. We are not living centuries back where mothers had to give birth with nothing but a bucket of water.

@jimmyszeto another nauseating OTT display of praising each other in public. What are they trying to prove? They should just tone down this over-heaping of praises on each other cos it just looks like they’re trying too hard to show everyone what a perfect hubby Ruco is and oh how much poor Phoebe suffered just to give him a baby. And Phoebe mentions hired helpers everytime, showing off much?

@passingby2 yup, just certain things she said that while not meant to be offending to anyone gives off an arrogant vibe

@littlefish yeah she had a hired chef to boil soups for her during her pregnancy, a lactation consultant to massage her breasts, hired helpers to care for her postpartum and her baby, nutritious food which caused her to have oversupply of milk bla bla bla…..such a showoff.

@passingby2 @littlefish @renac Sick and tired of hearing about this money grubbing, pathetic fame seeker on the news all the time. This guy is way overexposed and overrated, he should just look elsewhere to earn a living but not in entertainment industry.

I don’t know what Ruco is thinking of course women going through pain when giving birth otherwise how is she going to have the baby? So Ruco doesn’t want another child because he’s afraid his wife is going through the pain again? Not even Wong Cho Lam says that to his wife and they’re thinking to have more children? Seriously Ruco needs to relax and enjoy being a father instead whining too much.

This is just recycled stuff repeated over and over again just to keep them in the news! Come on! Three previous posts saying the same things. Enough please! Just tired of these two trying to be in the news about the same things over and over again.

Well, I suppose there’s nothing much to talk about them – Ruco not making much headlines and the wife is literally a nobody except being Ruco’s wife.

@renac agree… every so often I would see ruco related articles on Jaynestars.. even though it’s just him talking about his baby and wife. Don’t quite understand why people keep on posting repeated stuff

@jcc10 Parenthood is an important milestone in life. Ruco is a reflective person and I’m sure becoming a dad gave him great joy and a big sense of responsibility. While there has been quite a few articles posted about Ruco becoming a dad, each one adds a different dimension to his new dad experience.

There have also been many articles posted about Linda Chung’s journey as a mom. Some celebrities are more vocal about their kids and their new roles as parents, and I think it’s a positive sharing experience that readers can learn from.

JayneStars has profiled the weddings and baby news of many artistes, and it’s been a joy each time. These are the news that are especially precious as we witness the life-changing events that will have a major impact on these artistes’ lives in the coming years.

I don’t know why people are so offended by this. I personally think it’s a sweet experience that they are sharing. New parents are always excited about being first time parents and this gushing of love and appreciation is normal for most parents. I think it’s wonderful they Ruco is so involved and have such empathy for his wife going through labor. If you don’t want to read about them, then don’t click on their articles. Simple as that. No need for all the negativity.

@kokomo sometimes people do things without realising they are being insensitive or being arrogant. If no one mentions it, that person will never see it.

Also, this is a public forum, everyone has the right to read anything they like, or comment on anything they like, so long as it not so much hate or bullying. On the same sentiment that you said people don’t need to read their news, you can also don’t need to read the comments 🙂

@littlefish I understand that this is a public forum and people can voice their opinions and make comments. I guess I don’t understand how Ruco or Phoebe’s comments are been I sensitive or arrogant or offensive. Isn’t childbirth supposed to be a happy and positive?

@littlefish agree @kokomo save the lecture. This is a gossip forum where we’re free to read and comment anything we like. If you dont like our comments don’t read them. No need to get all protective and preachy. Her subtle flaunting of wealth and their OTT praises of each other may not grate on your nerves but they do to us. Too much becomes annoying. Also it doesn’t help that Jaynestars has been giving them so much coverage on the same topic. So when you’re reading the same thing umpteenth times you kinda need to let off some steam.

Unfortunately, Asian culture has trained women to expect little of their partners. He does not need to be complimented for wanting to change diapers or feed the baby. That’s his responsibility. Phoebe seems Westernized, but she is actually more traditional in how she approaches their relationship and this pregnancy.

On the contrary, Ruco is more progressive. He defers to her mostly – the baby shower, whether if she wants to keep working, Quinta’s name, and whether to have more kids. I appreciate that he treats her as an equal partner and does not dictate the decisions or minimizes her feelings. He shows his love for her which may seem OTT, but I think that’s because Asian men are generally reserved in their feelings.

Also, it’s very cute how he describes his naivete about the whole experience. Quinta is going to have him wrapped around her little fingers.

It does not bother me that they praise each other or talk about hired helpers. Other celebrities do that. It’s not how non-celebrities talk, but they are in a different world.
