Rebecca Zhu and Matthew Ho Prepare for “Nude” Scene
Rebecca Zhu (朱晨麗) and Matthew Ho (何廣沛) will be doing a pretty intense scene for The Great Soy Factory <大醬園>, and they’re not sure on how to prepare for it.
The TVB drama is set in the 1930’s and talks about how family traditions clash with the hopeful dreams of youths, a social topic that still resonates today. Matthew plays Man Cheuk-fung, the youngest son of a wealthy merchant family that has been running a large soy factory for generations. Rebecca plays a factory worker who does not get along with Matthew.
Comparing herself to an old-school mail courier, Rebecca recalled a few moments when she almost injured herself. “You really have to be careful. Katy Kung (龔嘉欣) and I have to move large jars of soy sauce, and she actually injured her pinky. The director has been looking after us. No injuries bad enough to compromising the filming schedule so far.”
Because she plays a factory worker and deliverer, Rebecca has many scenes on a big tricycle. Though Rebecca has been careful, she also takes many safety precautions. Asking if Matthew is worried for Rebecca, he said, “She was in The Stunt <特技人>. She’s practically half a stuntman. When she rides the tricycle, I’m the one sitting behind her.”
Playing a bickering pair, Rebecca said she got so into her role that the director had to tell her to calm down. Matthew said, “She was definitely bringing personal problems to work. Every time I work with her she is always so mean to me. (What is she actually like in real life?) Very gentle. She is a Miss Hong Kong winner after all.”
They shared that they will soon film a bath scene together. Rebecca shared that the scene will be humorous, but she is not sure on how she’s going to do it. “The scene is basically about me taking a bath outside, and Matthew was swimming, and he accidentally sees me naked. It’s kind of embarrassing. I don’t know how we’re going to film it.”
Matthew said he’s shy about having to go shirtless, but Rebecca said, “I’m not shy about it. You do have a great body. I saw it in Fun Abroad <3日2夜>.”
