Ruco Chan Quits Smoking for His Family
As Hong Kong is dealing with Covid-19, Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) reveals that he is slowing down his work schedule. With the opportunity to spend more quality time with his family, Ruco realizes that he needs to make positive changes to be a good role model for his family.
With more time at home, Ruco has been doing self-reflection on how he interacts with his daughter, Quinta. “Right now, I need to get to know myself again. I need to understand that children do not know anything and I have to control my tone of voice. Children may not know anything, but they feel your anxiety based on your tone. Just like going to school again, I need to know how my weaknesses affect children and make some adjustments.”
As Ruco is committed to improving himself, he made some positive changes to his lifestyle, “I used to smoke, but after having [Quinta], I gave it up for almost two years. There is no other way. I know that smoking is bad, but in the past if you don’t smoke while filming, people will scold at you.”
While Ruco would improve himself for his daughter, he makes it clear that he will not spoil Quinta. Ruco wants his daughter to grow up like Japanese children, as he admires the virtues that are instilled in their culture such as being considerate and humble.

slowing down is work schedule? haven’t seen him in any series for awhile now. What happened?
@mike if anything isn’t he increasing it? I believe he finished filming a drama last year of June and one this year in January, and will be filming another in may
My husband used to be an occasional smoker, he smokes when he go out with friends, not at home, but since I was pregnant with our first daughter. He quits & now he hates the smell of the smokes
