Sonija Kwok on Her Expectations of Daughter
A number of celebrity parents including Lai Lok Yi (黎諾懿), Jade Kwan (關心妍), Fanny Lee (李漫芬), Keith Mok (莫家淦), Sherry Chan (陳爽), Renee Lee (李蘊), Sharon Chan (陳敏之), and Sonija Kwok (郭羡妮) often share the details of childrearing with the public. Of course, as everything in life, there are hardships and happy moments, and such is the case for Sonija and her six-year-old daughter, Kylie.
The 44-year-old mother and her husband, Mainland martial arts choreographer Zhu Shaojie (朱少杰), welcomed their daughter Kylie in 2012, a year after they got married. The child inherited her mother’s beauty, and is not only cute and sweet but well-versed in ballet. However, Sonija is worried about Kylie’s studies. “She loves to play,” Sonija complained. “After entering primary school, she can’t handle her homework. Her personality is very stubborn, she does not listen to people, so we always argue for a long time.”
Despite her stubborn personality, Kylie also has a very affectionate side. “Since she was young, I massage her every night. Now, when I’m sick, she will take the initiative to help me massage and pour me water for me to take my medicine. It instantly makes me feel all better,” Sonija gushed.
When asked what expectations she has for her daughter, the mother spoke for all parents in the world. She said, “I hope she will grow up healthily, quickly find her own path and be able to do what she wants, pay more attention in school, don’t forget the things she learned, and that will satisfy me already.”
