Stephen Huynh Busily Saves Money for Marriage

Stephen Huynh Wong Cheung Hing has been quite stressed since the July opening his French restaurant, A La Maison. Fortunately, his girlfriend, Peggy, has provided her assistance at the restaurant. Stephen said thankfully, “We are a perfect match!” (Will Stephen provide financially for Peggy’s living expenses?) “No problem!”

Earlier, Stephen was rumored to be dating sixty-three year-old, Margaret Tsui Mei Kei, a wealthy divorcee. Stephen once again clarified that his girlfriend, Peggy, was not middle aged as some tabloids suggested.

Although his family pressured him to get married, Stephen insisted to establish his business further before proposing to Peggy. “I was going to treat my mother to dinner one time. But she refused and told me to save money for marriage.”

Jayne: The restaurant industry is very competitive and many businesses fold within one year of opening due to the high ongoing costs. Stephen Huynh’s restaurant, A La Maison, seems to offer budget French fare. Do people really want to each budget French food?

  1. I think it’s a good idea to offer budget French food. Not so well off people can get a taste of eating French food without need to to fork out a lot of money. If he maintain the quality of his food, I think it should be ok. Also, should make food that’s suitable for local taste. That’s what Daniel Wu’s character in ‘Drink Drank Drunk’ did after his high class pure taste French restaurant failed.

  2. Noticed he looks like he’s aged…could it be from the stress of running a restaurant?
