Tracy Chu to Make Comeback

Tracy Chu (朱千雪) and her husband Justin Ng (吳昆倫) welcomed the arrival of their son in May of last year. With her roles as a lawyer, university lecturer and a mother, Tracy’s appearances in front of the camera have become very rare. However, Tracy revealed that she has renewed her contract with TVB.

Tracy stated, “The company has always given me a lot of space. Whether it was when I was studying or working in the legal industry, they rarely interfered. If there was work, they would just ask if I was available. I have quite a lot of freedom and they respected my time.”

When asked why she did not start her own agency and manage herself, Tracy explained it was because of her long-standing relationship with TVB and her manager, with whom she has worked happily for many years. Asked if she is still interested in onscreen work, she said, “Yes, but now that I have more on my plate. I’ll be more selective with scripts or jobs. It’s not about being picky, but if I’m going to spend that much time on a project, I’d like the role to offer more.”

Tracy also mentioned Justin is very supportive of her work and also helps take care of their one-year-old son despite his busy job as a physician. Tracy has been yearning for more couple time since having a child. When she and her husband go out, they often check the baby camera or rush home after meals to care for their son. “Our son can now say Daddy and Mommy, but I don’t think he understands what he’s saying yet.”

When their son was six months old, the family traveled to Taiwan. The vacation felt like moving house, as they brought 30 outfits for a three-day trip. On the plane, their son cried and had to be fed immediately only to end up throwing up his milk when they landed. When their son was nine months old, they went to South Korea. The family often had to return to the hotel early due to their son’s sleepiness. Tracy said, “I want to take him back to Canada next time because that’s where I grew up and my parents are there too. I’ll plan for that trip.”

  1. Wow why do I feel like she’s getting special treatment from TVB? I thought since she’s been out of the public’s eye the last few years that this means she’s not longer under TVB’s umbrella.

  2. Tracy either beat the system or she has a connection at TVB. Kate Tsui is one fine example of beating the system. Linda and Tracy just have a really strong backing at the station even if they make very little appearances now

  3. If I were TVB, I’d give her special treatment too. Most of their new crop of actresses lack charisma and/or acting talent. Tracy had potential when she was still around. I really hope she comes back for a drama!
