Vicki Zhao and Huang Xiaoming Leave Handprints in Hollywood

Although the film Hollywood Adventures <橫衝直撞荷里活> has yet to be released, Vicki Zhao (趙薇), Huang Xiao Ming (黃曉明), and the film’s director Justin Lin (林詣彬) are already recognized by Hollywood. The trio left their handprints at the TCL Chinese Theatre today. The iconic handprinting ceremony exemplified their hard work and achievements.

As the first Chinese female celebrity to leave her handprints, Vicki thanked her family during her speech.  “I hope that I will be able to come back and see my own handprint every year. I thank my family for giving me strength. Especially my husband, who has allowed me to progress constantly.” Vicki’s husband, Mainland businessman Huang Youlong (黃有龍), was also present at the ceremony to support his wife.

Huang Xiaoming, who recently announced his marriage to Angelababy (楊穎), is also enjoying success in both his career and personal life. In the industry for 15 years, he had overcome many obstacles in order to reach this point of success. Expressing his gratitude for the support from his family and new wife, Xiaoming hoped for more future opportunities to work in Hollywood.

the only reason why they can make handprints in hollywood is the big movie market in china. hollywood movie companies surely know how to kiss ass the mainland market.

When will he be featured in Madame Tussaud? I bet I will have a hard time figuring out which is the real him.

@tess You mean Huang Xiao Ming? Haha…no opinion on the second part of your comment. As for when he will be featured in Madame Tussaud’s — his wax figure is already in the HK one…saw it there when I visited the wax museum during my HK trip last month. Not a fan of HXM and rarely watch any of his series so didn’t bother paying much attention to his wax figure. If you get a chance to visit HK’s wax museum, check it out and see. 🙂

Actually they left it at China theatre where you can pay to leave ur print. The prints are so many now that they are removing some of the prints to make way for new one.

It wasn’t a big deal in Hollywood. No mention whatsoever in the western entertainment media about this at all; it was only covered by the Chinese media to impress the people back in China.

Their PR must be working overtime. Of all the chinese actors, I am surprised at their selection in light of their non existing career in hollywood. I am very surprised.

      LOL!

Truth is, as famous as they are, no one knows or cares to know them in Hollywood.

Zhao was mentioned in a long Forbes magazine article about her career as singer/actress/director as well as business acumen.

Just because you’re featured in an article, it doesn’t mean people who know you in Hollywood.

Though Hollywood is beginning to open up for diversity, it’s still a very racist industry, where they are very stereotypical and bias towards minority groups.

Just look at movies like Dragonball. They play a white kid as a male lead, as oppose to an Asian.
