Dayo Wong Makes Kate Tsui Cry

Since TVB is trying to boost ratings by having My Prime Lady <My盛Lady> air by the end of the year, lead stars, Dayo Wong (黃子華) and Kate Tsui (徐子珊) are being worked overtime to complete the series quickly. Due to a lack of sleep, both Dayo and Elena Kong (江美儀) were seen napping when they were off the set.

Last Friday, the cast for My Prime Lady was filming at a beach. During this scene, Kate was required to cry because her wedding plans failed and her life was in shambles. However, Kate could not get into character and was unable to draw out her emotions – thus leaving the crew to film overtime.

After three hours of trying to draw emotions for her scene, Kate was still unable to shed tears and had to use eye drops to continue filming. Dayo, on the other hand, was unimpressed by Kate’s inability to shed real tears. Under the influence of the heat and long hours of filming, Dayo allegedly scolded Kate and gave her the cold shoulder, resulting in Kate finally releasing an onslaught of actual tears to finish the scene. Without even drying her tears, Kate went over to the camera to watch the playback and avoided interacting with Dayo.

On the same day, Sharon Chan (陳敏之) filmed a CPR scene with Louis Yuen (阮兆祥) on the beach. Sharon wore a bikini and showed off her long legs, adding interest to the otherwise ordinary scene.

  1. I like Dayo, he is unique and seems like a free spirit but from the article, it seems quite scary! One had better be prepared to be a good actor if one is working with him.

Off topic, I am amazed how actors can squeeze out tears on cue. I thought humans are the only creatures who cry when they feel sad unlike animals who probably shed tears to wash their eyes or something. How do you master the art of turning on the water tap on cue…

    1. Yes Dayo consider Guru to many’, he is good . Seen his talk show before, man with substance . No wonder Kate under pressure working with him.

  2. Well, as for Kate being so long in the industry and still unable to cry, that’s not professional. However, considering of long hour working without any sleep, it’s understandable that she couldn’t throw herself into the character.

I remember Bosco has scolded Kate once and he did try to help her in the crying scene, I hope Dayo did with the same intention.

      1. Yes, cause Kate couldn’t cry and the scene had to be taken so many times that everybody was getting so upset. Bosco then started scolding Kate and it worked. Fortunately Kate understood his intention, I guess that’s why they became so close.

      2. Which drama or movie? , I love HK 2013? That movie Kate cry well

      3. Cloud9
It’s the drama Price of Greed, I think that was the first time Kate played a lead role, because it was reasled oversea in 2006.
That drama contained a lot of crying scenes, It must be hard to Kate considering to be a newbie

  3. 10 years ago they called Dayo a cheap Stephen Chow knock-off, and that was his shtick – he portrayed fast talking sarcastic characters.

Currently, Wong Cho Lam is doing the Stephen Chow thing.
