Yesterday, TVB drama Midas Touch <點金勝手> and Johnnie To’s (杜琪峯) Don’t Go Breaking My Heart 2 <單身男女2> were both filming at a Sai Kung pier. The filming of Midas Touch was filled with near accidents in the sea, startling the cast.
In one of the scene for Midas Touch, Ben Wong’s (黃智賢) speedboat bumped into another boat nearby. While driving the speedboat, Ben almost ran over the body double for Sharon Chan (陳敏之). Startled, Sharon let out a scream, “What a fright! Murder!” Ben explained later that he had thought it normal for a boat to have back water flow when it is berthing, thereby causing the otherwise stationary boat to move a little. So while he was originally not startled, Sharon’ screams had caused him to panic. In reality, the body double had not been run over by him.
In another scene, Ben had to pull Sharon out from the sea. While being pulled onto the boat, Sharon’s head bumped onto the side railing of the boat. Sharon joked and said that she became smarter after bumping her head, “I always bumped myself. That’s a small matter.”
At the same pier, Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅) and Vic Chou (周渝民) were filming a water-soaking scene for Don’t Go Breaking My Heart 2 . The actors were in the sea for more than an hour, with Miriam strapped onto a lifesaver.
