“Triumph in the Skies 2” Airs Tonight
With Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II> to on Monday night, casts members Francis Ng (吳鎮宇), Julian Cheung (張智霖), Kenneth Ma (馬國明), Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and Nancy Wu (胡定欣) attended an event yesterday to promote the series. Fala Chen (陈法拉), who is currently studying in New York, was absent at the promotion.
The event venue was decorated like an airplane runway with light bulbs at the side. Artists came out in pairs except for Ron Ng (吳卓羲) and rumored girlfriend Kelly Fu (傅嘉莉). Ron partnered with Myolie instead and Francis in his ‘chok’ look accidentally kicked one of the light bulbs on the floor when he walked out.
Francis has been keeping a busy schedule and was caught talking on his mobile phone twice while taking a group photograph. He also commented that the other artists have been busy and was not sure if they will be meeting together to catch the premiere. Francis said, “Today is the last publicity event and after this, I will be flying to mainland China to promote a movie. If the ratings for the drama are good, then I will have the courage to fly back.”
Francis remarked that his 4-year-old son loves to watch the drama Awfully Lawful <熟男有惑>. Asked if he is worried about his son watching him kiss the actresses on screen, Francis replied that he does not mind, “It’s good to watch and I will take this opportunity to teach him things. Actually I only have two kissing scenes with Myolie and Fala in the show, but eventually, they added two more scenes to it.”
Myolie was teased that her limelight will be stolen by the other sexily dressed female artists at the event. Myolie is not too concerned and would rather be seen as reserved and stylish. In the coming months, Myolie will be filming a mainland Chinese drama and is happy to partner Gao Yuanyuan’s (高圓圓) ex-boyfriend Xiao Wei (小偉) in the show. Is she afraid of rumors and a long distance relationship? Myolie said, “I never think about this; I never think about criteria. Currently, the most important thing is work. If there is, it’s okay too.”
Kenneth and Elena Kong’s (江美儀) relationship in the drama has been criticized by netizens that its resembles a “mother-son relationship” due to Elena’s mature looks. But Kenneth is not worried as he felt that it is good that people are talking about it and further hoped that the ratings of the drama will cross the 30 points mark.

I haven’t heard of the theme song prior to the commencement of the series. Initially, I thought netizens were just making a big fuss out of nothing over the theme song. But when I first heard it just now when the series started airing, I can see why fans were disappointed. It was just… Bad. George lam’s sounded disinterested when singing, and the song doesn’t suit the background at all!
On a more positive note, the first episode of the series was good! Very promising. Hopefully it doesn’t go downhill as the story progresses.
Agree that the theme song doesn’t match the drama. I enjoy the 1st episode too, just didn’t like Fala. Ron and Chilam look good in the uniform.
agree. I feel like Fala was a wrong choice for this role. and I hate the cliche highlights in her hair.
I’m okay with fala acting as the bubbly girl from NASA. After all, you dont necessary need to have that personality in real life to play the role. I’ve heard someone said that it is true acting when you play a part who is an exact opposite of your true self and excel in it. Yeah all of them really look good in their respective uniforms.
…I don’t like the story, I don’t like Mr Cool and I don’t like the female cast…

No matter what,this series definitely will get a very good rating because it has a lot of heavyweight actresses and actors who will attract so many fans to watch. I have not watched any series since May but I will watch this series for sure because of Chi Lam, Ron Ng, Fala Chen and Elena Kong.

The reason why they used a new theme song was due to license conflict issues with the current theme song for the first installment.
Hence, they just decided to develop a new theme song.

Myolie’s acting is the same in every series… Always the same facial express! Don’t understand why she won best actress.
Those awards do not mean what they used to mean many years ago. I remember Tavia winning for BTROC when she clearly did not deserve it for that particular role. The awards are clearly rigged.
shut up jessica evidently you are not watching the series and just want to diss myolie. if you care to watch the previews myolie has a breakthrough role as the quiet, reserved, tomboyish airplane mechanic which is 180 degrees different from girly zoe. that takes a great actresa to pull off the difference!
Sorry sel_fi_wu, but before you tell anyone to shut up, you need to look at yourself first. First of all, you diss EVERYONE besides Myolie and now that Jessica just says what she thinks, you immediately attack her. You need to learn how to respect others’ opinions and views. If you can diss other peoples’ favorites, then why can’t they do the same to yours? You are now getting a taste of your own medicine.

Her character is completely different but she always have that same facial expression and she is playing the same role.

Are you sure?? BTROC means Beyond the Realm of Conscious and I don’t remember Sheren(you mean Sheren Tang right??)being in there. If I remember correctly, Tavia did win best actress in there. I am guessing that Jessica was just talking about her acting in general which may not apply to this show only. But yea, if she has not appeared yet in this series then it is not fair to judge her yet.
We should all be able to express our opinions and not get attacked for it.
Sorry to have made you misunderstood what I was trying to convey. What i meant was Sheren won best actress that year as “sei Lai Lai” in rosy business, while tavia only bagged the my favourite actress award as “yiu kam ling” in BTROC

I agree as long as we express our opinions fairly and constructively, we should have the right to do so. However, there are some that are so bias towards others and only love their own favorites that they would attack anyone that says anything negative about their favorites. Those overly obsessed fans really scare me.

yes jessica because fala was the one with lots of screentime in episode 1 and myolie not appear! as some people said here it’s UNFAIR for myolie for you to diss her acting based on only one preview! bet you don’t even know what her role description is and don’t even watch all the overseas long previews and the making of!

The themesong does not match but I don’t feel that is a big deal as long as the series itself is good.
Theoretically, I agree with that. However, whenever I hear the song being played, it starts grating on the nerves 🙁
If the themesong bothers you that much, just turn the volume down or fast forward it. My mom for example just goes to the restroom or does other things if she hates the themesong. Basically, treat it like a commercial/breaktime.
I will just play the old themesong in the opening part.

Welcome and sadly, if you are new to these forums, you have to know that people on here or anywhere is just like in real life. Some people are nice and some are mean just like what you see in real life. I agree with you and have ran across many different types of people. You just have to learn to not take some people’s comments too seriously, especially those that come from some really overly bias, close minded and obsessive people… Just learn to careless and try to have fun and not take anything to heart since this is just an entertainment site, that’s all..

jessica dissed myolie’s acting when she’s not in episode 1 and after only watch her for barely few seconds to a minute in one preview. that’s unfair for the actress!

Nonono, a Mary sue is not always nice, she’s just always extra super speciall. Like extremely spunky/brave, even saving the heroes from danger,, and Edward and Jacob will fall for her. And usually be extremely tAlented or skillful. and she will be unique looking/ most beautiful and has a “special” name.
So essentially, she’s a punk YET bubbly (srsly) girl, named Holiday, who works as a meteorologist in NASA and spent a year backpacking, while running her own eBay businessm and later becomes a pilot, and speaks at least 4 languages. Someone kill the producer please.

BUt Fala does know how to speak at least 3 languages competently.
I was far more impressed with Francis Ng though. I swear I heard an accent in the way he spoke his English. As in Not HK accent.

Ok ok maybe she turns out to be like how Zoe was in TITS 1 but from my memory I never thought Zoe so… annoying at first description. At least she wasn’t working for Nasa as a meteorologist (I swear I had to pause everytime I spell that word) ebay store owner backpacker free spirited happy chirpy girl.
She started speaking Korean when she was tussling with Francis.
It’s not about knowing how to speak so many languages, I mean Myolie can speak Cantonese, mandarin, English, and Japanese irl. But the myriad of skills holiday has. I thought she was gonna start demonstrating karate or kungful right there to round up her repetoire of skills. maybe they will show her painting ala turner next episode, storms and all.
I was rather impressed with Ron’s English too.
Zoe wasn’t as much as a Mary sue , just naseautingly optimistic. If she was one, her first scene, won’t be her getting a stomach infection (or some illness) on the plane, and wheeled off the plane in a wheelchair. she would probably be speaking 4 languages to the hyperventatilating passenger next to her, and being a licensed medical prrsonel who has to perform CPR on that poor passenger, while juggling knives and managing her own eBay business and later decides to start anew in the airport. Cough.
so evident that tvb creates this super talented role to promote fala.

wow, I can’t wait to watch this series. People complaining about theme song and etc.. but you have to admit that it is the most interesting series to watch in years.
How old is Francis ? he look good and quite competitive to the other actors and actresses.
I get the licensing issue about the previous song. But didn’t TVB have about 20 months during production to get someone else to write/sing another song. Not like TVB’s library consists of only 2 songs and have to dig up George Lam who has not sung for years.
