Aimee Chan Still Aspires to Be TV Queen
Motherhood will not slow down Aimee Chan’s (陳茵媺) career ambitions. Giving birth to her son, Aiden Joshua, in December, Aimee stated that her career goals have not changed; she is focused on improving her acting skills and reaching for Best Actress in television or film.
“An artist needs to have a target. The further the target is, the better the results will be. My passion [for acting] has not lessened,” Aimee said.
Although she got married and became a mother last year, Aimee does not believe that her personal changes will impact her acting. She will put the same level of enthusiasm into each and every role. Aimee hopes to try different roles, including portraying an antagonist.
Learning To Take Care of Aiden
Since Aimee is a first-time mother, she found that taking care of a baby is very difficult. She is learning to understand Aiden more each day, trying to decipher what his various cries mean. “A baby is a person, a form of life. He has his own personality, feelings, thoughts and capabilities. To grow to understand this person, what he likes and doesn’t like, it’s necessary to interact with him and have confidence in him and myself.”
Aimee praised him for being a fast learner. He is a very active baby, and constantly moves his mouth and eyes when she talks to him. Husband, Moses Chan (陳豪), has been very helpful in caring for Aiden and in making decisions together to lessen the load on her shoulders. Aimee said, “It’s necessary to have unity in a family, for the parents to have the same stance. So far, so good!”
Since baby Aiden is only one month old, it is too early to think about his education. While many parents are fretting about getting their child into preschool in Hong Kong’s competitive environment, Aimee’s first priority is to ensure Aiden develops and grows healthily.

I saw the video of the interview . She didnt say she wanted to become a tvb queen . She just say she wanted to act like she could get a tv queen !! Some news can be deceiving !!
Oh please don’t make me laugh….she can barely get her Cantonese script done properly and her acting is below mediocre……I don’t even consider her much of an actress and the general audience would barely know who she is if she wasn’t married to Moses………Now I’m starting to think she only married Moses to piggyback on his fame and hope to elevate her own.
Speaking good cantonese is definitely a large factor in becoming tv queen. but this is TVB afterall so she still has a chance IMO

Agreed, whatever it takes to keep Moses happy. As we all know, those awards don’t mean anything anymore. It is just given as an incentive for them to renew their contract. If your husband renew his contract, you will get an award and plenty of leading roles too – lol

I think this year is Linda’s turn. Thought she was gonna win at the last awards but went to Crystal instead, so they may give it to her next year.

But it’s way too early to know who is most likely to win it, depends on what dramas TVB decides to show.
As of now, both 守業者 (Tavia’s drama; Steven’s comeback drama) and 食為奴 (Nancy’s first leading drama with Joey Meng) are scheduled to air after Queen Divas and Outbound Love. I personally anticipate watching these dramas.

aimee’s acting in outbound love is quite good she has improved a lot i think,but the year is long to predict something.
please don’t give her TV queen this year….she is not ready at all. i’m actually quite enjoying Outbound Love and all…but her acting still needs a lot of improvement, she can’t do any emotional scene correctly, whether it’s having to cry or having to be all happy and laughing…it’s honestly quite awkward watching her….
Tv queen give me a break. She is far from tv queen plus she just doesn’t have the charisma to bring her characters to life.
I agree that her acting still needs a lot of work but anything is possible if you put your efforts and heart into it. Plus, knowing how meaningless the TVB awards have become, do not be come too shocked if she does win.

Um, no, that’s actually not true — from 1997 (when the awards started) through 2013, there have only been 4 beauty queens who ended up also winning TV Queen. It’s not impossible, but from a pure “numbers” perspective, the ratio isn’t high at all (especially if you consider 4 out of 17 total winners).
As for Aimee’s actual chances — well, it depends on the way you look at it. From an acting perspective, definitely no chance in the near future, since she still has a long ways to go to even get to a ‘decent’ level. However, if you look at it from the ‘TVB favoritism/politics’ perspective, then of course she has a chance. It definitely depends on the direction that TVB decides to go in the coming years…
If Aimee Chan wants to improve her acting skills, her No. 1 requirement is to slow down when she speaks her dialogues. It will make it a lot easier for her audience to understand her.

Aimee by far is not the best actress, but isn’t a horrible one either. Likewise for her hubby. Somehow since these 2 got married, i am bored with seeing their faces, so any drama with Moses or Aimee, i seem to lost interest … i wonder why

Aimee Chan is really a “true TVB artiste”. She may not be good enough to be a TV Queen, but she is truly a TVB artiste.
I think Aimee Chan knows that she is not ready to be a TV Queen yet. She said that just to let people know that even she is married, she still aims for a TV Queen award eventually. In other words, she still wants to act and improve her acting skills in order to get a TV Queen award eventually.
As someone said, there is a long queue for Best Actress award. Linda Chung and Kate Tsui may be the first few ones at the beginning of the queue. There will be some actresses, like Kristal Tin, who will beat everyone else to win Best Actress award in the next few years. Aimee Chan is just one of the 20 or 30 actresses who may have potentials to win TV Queen in future. As a matter of fact, Aimee can only be considered as an experienced newbie among other newbies, such as Eliza Sam, Priscilla Wong, Christine Kuo, Rebecca Zhu, Tracy Chu, etc.

After reading all the comments here, now I really want Aimee to improve and win TV Queen. I love rooting for the underdog. I think she’s pretty good in outbound love. Give her a villain role or something….she might have a chance! Even Tavia could do it in beyond the realm of conscience.

aimee is a horrible actress but you telling her to look up to tavia in beyond the realm of conscience is horrible too, tavia basically overacted and bulging out her eyes throughout the series!
If Tavia and Myolie can both win for 2 horrible performances than Aimee definitely has a chance.

I notice that sons “usually” look like the mother and daughters “usually” look like the father. So, my “guess” is her son may look more like Aimee.
