Bobby Au-yeung Saved His Neighbors From a Fire on Chinese New Year

Bobby Au-yeung (歐陽震華) did not have much time to rest for the Chinese New Year holidays. After taking a day off to celebrate the new year, Bobby immediately went back to the studios to continue the filming of the TVB comedy drama, House of Spirits <一屋老友記>.

On Thursday, Bobby shot a fire scene, which was about his kitchen catching on fire. Bobby completed the shoot in one skillful take. He joked that he had practice with fire beforehand, revealing that he had to put down a real fire on the day of Chinese New Year. The garden in his housing complex had caught on fire, with flames reaching as tall as ten feet. As the security guard did not know how to use a pressured fire extinguisher, Bobby had to put out the fire himself.

Bobby shared, “Just as I was about to go out to pay a new year call to my relatives, I saw a domestic worker frantically pointing at something outside. I went to check it out and saw that the garden had caught on fire, and the flames were at least ten feet tall! I told someone to grab the fire extinguisher, but the [security guard] didn’t know how to use it. I helped him open it, but got myself sprayed in the process, so I went out there to put out the fire. I’m surprised that there are people in this world who do not know how to use a fire extinguisher.”
