Jordan Chan Confirms “Young and Dangerous” Reunion Film

Young and Dangerous <古惑仔>, the popular film series that pushed actors like Ekin Cheng (鄭伊健), Jordan Chan (陳小春), and Michael Tse (謝天華) to fame, will be reuniting this year for a film sequel.

Jordan Chan confirmed the news himself when he attended an event in Macau with his wife Cherrie Ying (應彩兒). He told the press that the original cast and crew of Young and Dangerous will be reuniting in late February to start principal photography for a new film. The movie, about a band of thieves, will shoot in locations such as Japan and Montenegro. Eric Tsang (曾志偉) will make a special starring appearance.

With the film’s overseas photography, Jordan expects to have a fun travel experience as well.

Asking if Jordan is worried about leaving his son behind in Hong Kong, he said, “We can always video chat, but of course I will miss him. I went back to work a few days ago after a long break. My wife took our son to set to visit me. When he saw me, he ran to me and hugged my leg.” Jordan’s son, Jasper, is three years old. “For him, everything is worth it.”

Jordan then said that he would like to try for another baby. Louis Cheung (張繼聰) once told reporters that having a daughter immediately turns the father into a soft-hearted and infatuated man. Jordan said, “I don’t have a daughter yet so I don’t know about that, but I don’t think I’ll become that. I’ll become a ferocious man, to protect my wife and children!”

  1. So is this like Ocean 11 but with 4 dudes? Maybe more like The Heist, more comedic and silly (?)

Anyways, weren’t there 5 of them??? That one guy (to me, the cutest one) had never really got any reference. Ha, poor dude. I never liked Y&D in the first place but remembered it was a cult-like following back in the days. Their acting was all meh. The story was meh. And never understood Jordan Chan’s appeal either. He was never handsome, great at acting, good singer, or anything really…

    1. @jjwong for me, I started liking him after seeing him in Duke of Mt. Deer. And then after that, I really liked him when I heard him sing this song: https://youtu.be/R6BbZ0GF2yM. He doesn’t have any mind-blowing singing skills but he emotes very well and there’s still some techniques in there. His songs are also what got me into Cantopop in the first place – for some reason his lyrics are much more comprehensible in Canto for me than other Canto singers.
