Mandy Wong Appears in Bikini

Many people know Mandy Wong (黃智雯) as an actress who recently rose to fame with her roles in L’Escargot <缺宅男女>, and The Hippocratic Crush <On Call 36小時>. Known for her acting abilities, it is easy to forget that she had entered the industry through the Miss Hong Kong pageant in 2007. She was placed in the top five contestants, but eventually lost the crown to Kayi Cheung (張嘉兒). Mandy normally downplays her 34C figure, but she recently appeared in a turquoise bikini at a beauty advertisement for Spa Collection.

Mandy exhibited her sexy side to the public and revealed, “I haven’t worn a two-piece out in public since my pageant days. I was nervous for this shoot, so I had to maintain my weight by eating apples and take on hot yoga, dance lessons and exercise!” When asked if Mandy replaced DaDa Chen (陳靜) as the new spokesperson for Spa Collection, Mandy simply responded that she was only curious about the different treatments and services the company offers and that her and Dada’s styles were completely different.

When the reporters pointed out that it looks as though Mandy has gotten breast implants, she did not take the allegations as an offense and answered laughingly, “This is the body my mom gave me, nothing more, nothing less!”

  1. Zoom in zoom out and frankly I find the bikini rather tame. It is one of the more conservative one actually. She has a healthy body although a bit soft. Breast wise, oh come on there is such thing called push up bra.

    1. Yes, it’s really a bikini in name only 😛 Very tame.

  2. what’s with the HK press calling each and every one of the female celebs BB?

    It’s so annoying and….. lame.

    1. agreed! it’s too much, like having LF’s love life shoved down our throats

    2. hk calls every adorable hk artistes as bb. at first found it weird but now it’s actually cute since it’s a positive nickname! not only female artistes, kenneth also get called ma ming bb because he’s cute and adorable 🙂

      1. however not sure whether they call karena bb in a positive or negative term.

      2. sounds so lame, bb sounds like a description for ungrown, non-independent women, or for those that need to be tame.

      3. I agree with @bear. It’s lame. Whut? Now Kenneth is given the BB label? He’s a grown man approaching his 40’s. ridiculous!

      4. bb for kenneth means good. complies with his good boy and adorable image. nothing to be ashamed of it. dodo cheng also calls kenneth a good boy in her radio program! at least we know kenneth is not called horrible scum nicknames such as ‘sugar daddy’ r or ‘soft rice’ j or ‘pursue girl’ b

      5. Kenneth is good, no doubt. But to label him as a BB is ridiculous. The seun poon label is good enough. There’s absolutely no purpose to give him a puke-inducing nickname.

  3. What the heck??!!
Making such a big fuss for lollll 34C >..<|||

    1. Is it most celebrities and even HAHAHAS HK gals are aeroplane or AA cup?!!
I, myself is 32C too. Nothing to be WOW!
I mean it’s just hilarious to make such a BIG fuss because Mandy is wearing C cup and the most hilarious is to even doubt that her boobs are indeed fake or real!! It’s just a C cup ehhh!!
If its G cup like Jolin then yeah, it’s doubtable or Lolll if it’s E or F cup then it’s a WOW!!
But a C cup and and this big fuss?!!
      HAHAHAHAHAS

      1. Your breasts is C cup? yes, yes, i wan to see, i wan to see, 🙂

      2. “naked wish” is a very dirty-minded fellow. How do we report someone on this site? I want to throw up at his rudeness and lewdness.

Yes, I agree that 34C is not something to fuss about. Got there when I was 19–without being fat, mind you. Lol.

As for cup sizes, I’ve been told by friends from HK/China that their cup sizes are different from the cup sizes in the States. A “B” in China is actually just a “A” in the U.S. That said, I understand even less why there is such a fuss for “34C.” Hehehe…

      3. in western standard, you might not be fat, but in hk standard, christine kuo is FAT. one of her nickname now besides ‘third party’ is ‘fat christine’

      4. @sei_fi_wu

True. I agree that the standards are different for the word “fat.” If you were referring to me in your post, then I can tell you I weighed 100 pounds at that time. It’s up to you to decide if that is “fat” or not, though I didn’t think so =D

      5. this “naked wish” person is always using a different username btw.

On another note, you girls are so lucky to possess a “C”. I’m so flat chested that my chest can be used as an airport runway.

      6. @iris 100 pounds will be thin if you’re around 5’3 and above 😛

      7. @939393
Don’t worry about it, girl! Bust sizes don’t reflect how feminine or attractive you really are. I’ve got a couple of flat-chested friends. And I know their husbands/boyfriends have thought of them and called them “sexy.” You’ll find the right guy one day =)

        @sei_fi_wu
I stood at 5’3″ then. I don’t know why you are so meticulous. I never meant to talk all about myself. I was just using myself as an illustration, just like Yen did. I’m sorry to everyone else for making the comments so long. I merely had to defend myself against accusative assumptions.

      8. All this talk of breasts and yet no single picture.

      9. Thank you so much for your kind remarks, Iris. I’m quite confident with the way i look. There are of course times where I’ve felt insecure about my body because my best friends are a beautiful bunch of girls and are gifted with huge bosoms.

I’m thankful and grateful that i’ve a boyfriend of 5 years who find me hot despite being flat chested. 🙂

  4. Most Asians are genetically programmed to not have the heavy weight up there. I mean, some girls got the decent cup sizes i.e. B, C, D, but lack the band width. We’re all basically stuck at the 32-35 inch band widths, therefore we’re pretty limited. Some barely make it pass 34. It’s just how it is.

Off topic but anyone know how busty Nancy Wu is? I mean even with a push up bra, her boobs can no way look that ginormous in Seasons of Love…

    1. i GUESS the most exeggerated faked boobs would be of Jolin’s. She claimed she has yet to grown her boobs during the time she first joined the industry.. LOL.

  5. She’s not pretty but she can act, not bad to be promoted as future female lead by TVB 😉

    1. it’s best not to be all looks and take the sexy route like those actresses who are only playing minor roles. that way ppl will focus on her skills and hardwork.

    2. Very true as her leg not slim , but she indeed act very well

      1. I’ve never been attracted to stick-thin girls and idk why guys adore them. I think Mandy is beautiful just the way she is 🙂

      2. Shouldn’t we accept girls of all shapes and sizes? It seems like we’re going too far the other way and heaping praise on the larger sizes (heck, sometimes even the overweight) whilst having a dig at those who have less on their bones. What about those who are naturally thin?

      3. We should, skinnymocha. However, the media has placed an impression where skinny > overweight/fat.

just look at abercombie and fitch and his attitude towards fat people.

      4. “It seems like we’re going too far the other way and heaping praise on the larger sizes (heck, sometimes even the overweight) whilst having a dig at those who have less on their bones.”

Do we? Its a little funny as i just scrolled through a torrid of insults on how someone is “fat”, and the continuous statement of pride while describing oneself as “slim” to even come across this.
I dont think skinny people never faced the same negative association as fat people, just look at A&f or karl lagerfeld. And with how warped the asian communities are, re: christine kuo thinking of herself as fat, there are many girls who self-identify as fat, despite being nowhere near overweight or obese. That may be where the constant reassurance that its ok not being as skinny as runway models comes in.

      5. But I think there should be a distinction between being skinny and being unhealthy. The problem is we don’t know these people and we’ve no idea what their lifestyle and habits are. I’ve a friend who’s classed as underweight and people make digs at her for being “anorexic” and “stupidly vain”. She skateboards, she dances and she used to be a ballerina, but boy, does she eat like a horse – sometimes she’d even eat my portion of lunch. I’ve known her ever since we were kids in school and I’ve never suspected her of having an eating disorder. None of us have. (I don’t tag her 24/7, but I really hope not.)

I think it’s one thing to point out the unhealthy obsession in the modelling/entertainment industry, as well as the Asian community, but it’s another to throw all thin people under a blanket and make them feel ashamed of their own bodies. When I browse through (English) entertainment sites and places like Youtube, I see a lot of praises for the “larger” sized – notably for not succumbing to the pressure. A few years ago, it was Beth Ditto and in recent years the attention has turned onto Adele. Personally, I don’t feel like it’s something that needs to be discussed in public and I hate the torrent of abuse they’re getting for being “fat”. But at the same time, there are A LOT of fans who are ready to jump in and defend them, saying they’re at a perfectly normal weight and/or “at least they’re not sticks and bones”. As if being overweight or obese is any better?! I think some people have confused being beautiful with being healthy… I’m not sure the pair of them are/were walking adverts for healthy living.

      6. Well, I say there should be a distinction between being skinny and being unhealthy, but it’s not always that clear-cut. I’m thin myself, but I eat a whole lot of junk and I don’t exercise as much as I should. I really need to get my head into gear or else my body won’t thank me later on in life…

      7. Ok, the stupid ipad just refreshed the page and my comment along with it, when i flipped to another tab, so grrr…

I think theres some confusion between weight and health there. Well, adele is definitely fat, but she may be fat like your friend is skinny? I dont know if shes a walking advert for healthy living, but then, im not sure if i would use paris or kate moss, who are skinny, as symbols for healthy living either? Health =/ weight. If someone is not morbidly obese or a walking skeleton (skin and bones), is there a chance for them to completely healthy individuals?

Adele may be healthy, but someone at her weight to eats ice cream all day, may not be. Your friend may be healthy, but someone who starves herself to get that way may not be. I think everyone knows themselves best, and lying to themselves wont help irregardless of weight.

Furthermore, i think on this site(asian), we have less fat-promoting culture here, but more of a genuine “shes not fat” thing going on.

      8. Precisely why I said “there should be a distinction between being skinny and being unhealthy. The problem is we don’t know these people and we’ve no idea what their lifestyle and habits are.” (Or as you more aptly put it, a distinction between health and weight.)

Perhaps using Adele isn’t the best example since I haven’t seen much of her in the last 2 years – although she does seem to have slimmed down quite a bit? I agree that being large/overweight doesn’t necessarily signify being unhealthy. However, I watched Adele when she first debuted in 2008 and she was much larger back then. I’m not sure how healthy she was at the time and whilst she wasn’t morbidly obese, it did seem a bit extreme for someone her height – unless she’s some professional athlete or has problems with her thyroid.

      9. Yes, you did say that, but then continued to say that adele isnt a walking advert for health, so i just had to bring it up as it goes both ways, but i do get what our confusion was. I was thinking more of adele in the recent years. Shes def still fat, but not to the extent of keeling over from being fat. Likewise for beth ditto, she went from:
        http://media.paperblog.fr/i/335/3352719/beth-ditto-L-1.jpeg
        To ->>>
        http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2312633/Beth-Ditto-debuts-trimmer-figure-GLAAD-Awards-alongside-fiancee-Kristen-Ogata.html

Her change shown next to her slim fiancee is rather astounding, she went from being 3x her size, to 1.5x?

So I did find it unfair that they were used as examples of being unhealthy, when we do see them taking control over their weight, vs someone else who may look thin, yet live in excessiveness.
Its kinda like if we talk about joyce cheng as though shes still that fat kid, despite her weight loss.

Can you imagine those girls who are around adele/beth ditto’s current weight getting unsettled about their weight, or in hong kong, some girl around christine’s weight going on a diet because she thinks shes fat? That was my point (about the need for reassurance on girls being avg weight vs those skinny) because you rarely see the media making fun of someone because they are skinny, but calling christine fat, isnt beneficial for slim/avg-sized girls who may lack confidence about body image.

      10. Ooh, I didn’t know Beth Ditto has slimmed down as well. I wasn’t sure what they both currently look like, hence the use of “are/were”. Anyway, whatever size they may be, I hope they’re both happy now.

        ————-

There was a time when I put on weight one summer (going from a UK size 8 to size 10). My mum actually had the audacity to call me fat – even though I was still on the small/average end of the scale. And I’m not particularly short either. Needless to say, I took no notice of her. It’s a shame some girls take such criticisms to heart – it’s vicious…

      11. its much harder not to take it to heart when girls are subjected to such criticism over their entire life.

My mum is a perpetual uk size 8, and shes 166cm, so we are expected to match that, and she would make up all kinds of “encouragement” starting from : “you can’t get the school lunch because you are getting fat” ( i was around 10-11 years old at puberty) to “fat people find it harder to find jobs” (new grad at 170 cm uk size 10/12).

I think hk/tw mums are especially strict about body image and weight . My friend had to pack carrot sticks for lunch since she was 12, she even does that in the office today.

      12. Btw, i do get what you are saying about people being overly defensive though, my comments are mainly about those avg built, or those who may be naturally stocky, but many people use that excuse to feast their way to a 35inch waist line.

      13. ** not due to post-pregnancy, or underlying health issues such as thyroid, hormones etc.

  6. Is “BB” the next over used word “Chok”?

      1. Lol! Thanks for the link. I went on to watch the other “I am a Hong Kong Girl with 公主病 (Gung Jyuh Behng) “. I thought it was hilarious. Lol. 😀

    1. i Guess BB came from the name of Angelabb where she proclaimed she’s a bb goddess.. oh yeah thx to her plastic surgery, without it, she’s nothing but some ordinary looking gal. Also, I think BB is used on younger gals, older women like Sheren etc etc wouldn’t called themselves BB i guess LOL

      1. No, the BB is so overused when they give the newborn baby nickname, Ah B or BB

  7. what’s all this fuss about mandy’s breast size people. at least she looks healthy body wise unlike other bony thin hk artistes 🙂

love mandy. she’s a great and humble actress and looks young for her age

  8. I love Mandy…add oil…looking forward for her new drama!

  9. She is a very good actress, she will be lead actress in TVB soon
