Miss Hong Kong Contestant Kristi Chan Resembles Girl in Indecent Video Clip?

The press has been busy digging up the backgrounds of the 16 chosen finalists for the 2015 Miss Hong Kong Pageant. Earlier, an indecent video clip of a girl who closely resembles Miss Hong Kong contestant Kristi Chan (陳靜儀) circulated rapidly online. The 30-second clip features a revealing girl with moles on her left forearm, collarbone, and neck. Coincidentally, Kristi also has moles in these areas and the shape of her lips is also similar to the girl in the video.

Kristi and five other contestants earlier arrived at a salon in Kowloon Tong for a hair makeover. Initially in a good mood, Kristi’s face darkened after reporters brought up the video clip rumors. She reportedly grew unhappy and later turned her back to the press. The other contestants also made no response to the speculations. Upon close and detailed examination, it was later found that Kristi’s moles are located in a slightly different area.

TVB management executive Sandy Yue (余詠珊), who is in charge of running the pageant, expressed firmly, “The person in the video is definitely not Kristi. Don’t play jokes on the girls. They are all decent girls in my heart. They’re angels.” Sandy added that they have already reminded the contestants to delete videos off their social media accounts whether it was from before or after making it into the finals. The company will be investigating matters that harm Miss Hong Kong’s reputation.

Kristi Denies Being Unhappy Over False Rumors

The next day, Kristi and fellow contestants visited a salon in Causeway Bay to learn hair-styling techniques. Upon leaving, the lift was too crowded and Kristi had no choice but to wait for the next one alone. Taking this chance, reporters quickly crowded around her to snap photos and ask questions. Kristi appeared awkward and emphasized she is not the girl in the video clip. She added, “I did read a little [of the reports], but I was not unhappy.”

Last year, the same video clip circulated in Taiwan, in which the girl in the clip was rumored to be Taiwan’s internet model, Jiang Xiaola (江小辣). However, she also denied the rumors and regarded herself as a victim of the gossip.

  1. Probably a made-up story by the press so the staff have a good excuse to sift through indecent clips online during work hours.
