Francis Ng and His Wife Like Singapore’s Education System

Francis Ng (吳鎮宇) and Fiona Wong‘s (王麗萍) son Feynman Ng was thrown into the spotlight after appearing in season two of Where Are We Going, Dad? <爸爸去哪兒> in 2014. Now, at the age of 11, he is all grown up and graduating from primary school.

On June 24, Feynman posted a short video online to announce that he has finally graduated. In the short film, he shared photos of Francis and Fiona beaming at his elementary school graduation, which Francis’ good friend, Cheung Tat Ming (張達明), also attended. Feynman also showed photos of the school environment, his first late slip from the sixth grade, a souvenir from his school trip to Taiwan, and essays. He happily said, “Look at my primary school life!”

In a few months, Feynman will create new memories as he continues his education at the Singapore International School (SIS) in Hong Kong – a school that his parents chose for him due to Fiona’s Singaporean roots. Eventually, Francis and Fiona hope to send Feynman to study abroad in Singapore or overseas.

SIS (Hong Kong) is a Favorite Among Celebrities

Aside from Feynman, a lot of other celebrities’ kids also attend or attended the SIS in Hong Kong. Zhao Wei‘s (趙薇) daughter, Eileen Yeow‘s (姚瑩瑩) son, Moses Chan (陳豪) and Aimee Chan‘s (陳茵媺) eldest son, Richie Jen‘s (任賢齊) son and daughter, Simon Yam (任達華) and Qi Qi‘s (琦琦) daughter, Benz Hui‘s (許紹雄) daughter, and Bonnie Lai‘s (黎淑賢) son are all current or former students of the institution.

Celebrity parents who plan on sending their children overseas for school prefer the lax environment of the SIS (Hong Kong), established in 1991. Compared to local schools, SIS has an easier curriculum and less workload for students. The school, which has an average tuition roughly ranging from $120,000 Hong Kong dollars to HK$180,000, offers an International Baccalaureate program from kindergarten to secondary school.

  1. Omg Feynman!! He grew up so much I remember him being so little in “Where are we going dad?” such a good show. I wonder if he still has that scar in his face such a shame.
Just realised 11 years old wow he’s the same height as his mother in this pic?! He’s gonna be so tall as he gets older.

  2. Wow, the school tuition fees! I get why nowadays couples only want 1 or even no kids, especially if you’re in the middle class range. My friends who live in HK and both husband and wife are working actually forgo having kids even when they both really want to. They said they just can’t afford to provide good education and they don’t want their kids to suffer in the future.

    1. @pompidur Private school fees are exorbitant. My colleague sends his kid to a private Canadian International School and he “invests” north of USD40K on the tuition, school stuffs, extra curricular activities etc every year.

  3. 180,000 hkd is a very descent price. average price of private schools near me from 1st to 3rd grade is 40k per year, + more if you take the school bus. 3rd grade to 12th is 50k+. the higher grade the more $$. these schools i heard are elite college feeding schools. i know an indian women whose children both went to harvard, yale, and oxford graduating from one of such private school.

isn’t faye wong’s daughter’s tuition in 10k+ per year in switzerland. i think that’s just tuition not including room and board.
