Was Kim Seon Ho’s Scandal Masterminded by His Agency?

Kim Seon Ho’s abortion scandal, which is making a huge dent on his career, may not be as simple as a lovers’ misunderstanding. The Internet is abuzz with speculations that his agency may have played a role in spreading the scandal, as a bargaining chip in the star’s soon-to-expire contract.

When former weather forecaster Choi Young Ah accused the star of forcing her to get an abortion, it took Seon Ho’s agency, S.A.L.T. two days to respond with the vague statement,  “We are still clarifying the authenticity of the content.” Many were surprised by the agency’s nonchalant attitude while Seon Ho was facing the biggest scandal of his career.

Seon Ho’s three-year contract with S.A.L.T. had expired in September, but he temporarily extended his contract with them for another month due to the filming of Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. The actor is said to have been aggressively pursued by other agencies hoping to sign him since his breakout performance in last-year’s Start-Up.

According to Korea’s Money Today, an insider close to Seon Ho and his ex-girlfriend claims that the abortion scandal was masterminded by the actor’s own agency.

The agency was said to purposely leak negative news about their own artistes in hopes of keeping them from leaving during contract negotiation. Given that the artistes lose credibility in a scandal, the agency will use this weakness to lock them in.

When Seon Ho’s negative news began spreading, the insider posted on Instagram, “Although I do not know if what I reveal would affect either party, I am speaking truthfully from an outsider perspective to the public.” The insider claimed Seon Ho’s agency is actually responsible for spreading this scandal, and that he would be making a public announcement in a few days with more information.
