Linda Chung Sees Myolie Wu As Her Strongest Opponent
TVB artist, Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣) shot a tissue paper commercial for ZENSES yesterday. It was Linda’s second year of being a spokesperson for them. While taking photos, she accidentally revealed her bra strap.
Linda smiled and said that she was extremely satisfied of the engagement fees received, “Nowadays I wouldn’t ask my manager about the engagement fees and will only know at year end when we declare our tax to the government.”

Asked about her performance in Yes Sir Sorry Sir <點解阿Sir係阿Sir> as Miss Koo receiving rave reviews and being viewed as a hot contender for the TV Queen award, Linda professed that receiving praises was like magic hence she felt surprised. Linda continued to say, “I want to thank everyone. I feel confident too but to me, getting an award is not the most important. This drama (Yes Sir Sorry Sir) was broadcasted during April, when there were many public holidays. Receiving good feedback made me feel like I have already won.”
Asked amongst the contenders for Best Actress who Linda felt was her strongest opponent, she replied, “I have been filming Happy House, Hidden Dragon with Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) and I feel that she’s really professional. In fact, Myolie is already preparing to receive the award. Besides having confident on myself, I also place my bets on her.” Linda professed that because Charmaine Sheh (佘詩曼) had left her TVB nest, it made the outside world feel that she and the other TVB fadans have a bigger chance this year.
Asked whether she had heard the news about her fellow TVB colleague, Joel Chan (陳山聰) dating casino king’s daughter, Florinda Ho (何超雲), Linda expressed her well wishes to the couple, “Congratulations to Joel, I have filmed with Joel before in Virtues of Harmony <皆大歡喜>. It was a happy experience collaborating with him. I knew that he is a good guy, being able to find someone who appreciates and loves him, I feel happy for him too!”

I know that TVB will probably put her Yes Sir, No Sir performance up for TV Queen to create some more competition, but I hope they end up putting this as a supporting actress role so that she can win for that instead. She wasn’t even shown in the series that much for a lead role. I’m looking forward to her getting the My Favorite Character award though since she’s pretty much a lock for the females so far.
As for Best Actress, I’m rooting for Myolie! Her series have had good ratings, her characters have had good feedback, and if it goes the same for Queen of All Queens, I definitely think she will win this year.

I didn’t watch YSSS, but did watch Miss Koo’s scenes. I always thought TVB was more interested in promoting Linda than Tavia, so why is Tavia the lead while Linda is supporting? Of course, lead or supporting doesn’t matter as long as the character wins the viewer’s favor.
Linda is usually a Best Actress nominee so it’s not likely that she’ll be given Best Supporting. She might get in top five, but not win. My vote is still for Myolie. 😀

I also think that Myolie will win because Ghetto Justice has garnered good ratings and feedback. I think it’s between Tavia and Myolie this year. No veterans (as of right now) has shown that they are a strong competitor so TVB might finally give it to a biological daughter. 🙂 Also, Myolie’s series hasn’t had a chance to win for many years. I think the last time it was War of In-Laws. But if TVB does if this award to one of their young stars, it should be interesting to see who wins!

I agree that there’s always TVB politics to consider, but none of Tavia’s roles shined this year. She got overshadowed by Linda in Yes Sir, and she was sick during The Other Truth which did affect her performance. I actually think that they were prepping Tavia for the Best Actress award last year for her evil role in Beyond The Realm, but she wasn’t able to make enough impact with the audience.
Also, I don’t think it’s fair to say that Myolie got her fadan position by siding with 620. She gained her status by getting some good roles (Golden Faith, Triumph) and was acknowledged for her acting, unlike other fadans who were simply given lead roles even when they weren’t ready for it.

Unless Tavia makes a miracle in MWNS, which I doubt because the series is more about Raymond to shine, then Tavia isn’t a hot favourite to win this year. She has many series, but none of her roles gives much impact and she doesnt have screen presence.

Not an antifan of Tavia but I think even if Tavia was given with interesting role in the series, her onscreen acting still look pretty dead to me.
Just take her role in the Beyond of Realm.. for example, even she had to display the evil concubine, she still can convince or show any evil vibe in the series.
I heard Tavia will starred in “Men with No Shadow” series, let’s see if she could give us a refreshing role for being a housewife.

Based on experience and tvb politics:
Myolie – won 2002 most improved
Tavia – won 2003 Most improved, 2008 best supporting, 2009 my favourite female character, 2009 best performance of the year
Fala – won 2007 and 2010 Best Supporting
Linda – won 2006 Most improved
Kate – won 2007 Most Improved
The last 3 backgrounds are too weak. Tavia has the strongest in terms of experience and recognition. Exception is Myolie but she makes up for it coz she’s been there longer and she’s got good relations with the executives. And her portfolio outside of television is impressive – she’s made a few movies, Johnnie To movie, sang a few songs etc….
I think people are overestimating her ability just from a small role in YSSS. She really hasn’t been recognised or much talked about before Miss Koo. My rankings would be as above: Myolie > Tavia > Fala > Kate > Kate
oh and i forgot to mention, I agree that Myolie’s roles this year (including The Queen on the Queens role) and the success of her series make her seem like a more worthy winner than Linda. Linda just got nothing that she can compete with.

And Myolie dun sang a few songs but had 2 EPs and 2 mini concert :P.

At least Best Performance is related to work ethics, achievements, experience and exposure/hype that the recipient has. You can say its a consolation award for those who can’t get Best Actor or My Favourite Character awards. You will be surprised who would get that award this year.

could get the Best Performance award. These were very popular talked about characters/performances this year but obviously not all of them are gonna get a major award coz there is just so many. So the ones who ‘just’ missed out ie. deserve an award but don’t really deserve a major award due to popularity, timing or simply tvb politics, then they will get the Best Performance award.
Raymond Lam could be a major contender – since his had many achievements including album, concert, stint in film …. Especially if MWNS does well but his role isn’t hyped up like Laughing or Law Ba, then Raymond will miss out on Best Actor. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets the Best Performance award actually…. haha… and I’m sure you wouldn’t call it a useless award if Raymond Lam won. =P

Best Performance is probably another pork divide but it has a bit more meaning than a Fashion Award. It’s a sense of encouragement.
Myolie was the first and only recipient. An award designed just so she can get on stage. I remember that year, she wore a hideous tux with a bowtie to get a Fashion Award – how ironic.

If you ask me who deserve to win, I’ll say Stephen Chan deserve to win from last year. His coming back is like miracle. To see him sit, clap hand on the anni nite make me feel wow for his acting.
On the other hand, 620 deserve the Best actress for her performance in the same nite, smile gently at how Eric teased her :P.
This year, Stephen Chan is still good at acting for the court incident. Not as much as last year but still good. Look at his smirk in the court, we can sense the victory to him!
Another contender is Moses Chan for the awesome breakup with Bernice and the fanastic love with Aimee. Gosh, he is able to make the whole city bash Bernice, that’s what we called “good job!”
Third should be LF with the amazing crying scene that can take back girls to him, and even gain more fans. If it isn’t good acting, how can?
The fourth one must be Gregory Lee. He and his soft heart touched a lot of girl. From “who is he?” to “you deserve a better girl!”, Gregory did a very good job. But since it’s kinda from his true emotion, his mark will be deduced because it isn’t acting! However, Gregory will be the list because he can overshadowed Nic Tse for a while.
The fifth one should be Vincent Wong and Bosco – share the same position. They are all “hey I saw all!” but still can laugh. Good job guys! But their scandals, if can be called as a scandal, isn’t big :(. So they only be in the 5th position. Bosco is slightly higher because he also has the “refuse – not refuse – refuse – not refuse” circle of him and Myolie also need a little acting.
Last one must be Ron. He first “half refused”, and now “half-admitted” and cold action to unfollow all the girls have touched a number of girls.
Worst acting belongs to Joel. He failed. Failed so badly.
If Nic Tse is with TVB, he will have a seat.

Nope Shirley entered in 2001 after winning MHK and Myolie entered in 1999 after winning 2nd runner up in MHK. As for Sharon, Wiki said years active as an actress started in 2001.
I really hope either Mandy Wong or even Sharon (if she’s nominated) get it rather than Cilla or Katy.
