Pakho Chau’s Deformed Face in Category III Film “Guilty”

Pakho Chau (周柏豪) underwent a dramatic image change after he accepted the role as Kit in the upcoming revenge-thriller film Guilty <四非>, directed by Jil Wong (黃柏基). Portraying a cold-blooded killer, Kit not only has to carry the weight of numerous pain and sorrow in his life, he also suffers from a facial deformity. The singer, who is known for his clean, pretty boy image, looks like a completely different person.

In the film, Pakho’s character Kit suffers from a large tumor growing on his face, disfiguring him. Pakho said Guilty was by far the most difficult movie he had to film – in addition to spending four hours every day in the makeup chair, he also suffered from skin allergies and itching due to the makeup.

Nonetheless, Pakho said he is very proud of the result. He said, “I remember on my first day at work in Bangkok, we filmed at an amusement park. The tourists whispered around me and some were so shocked they yelled. Although I felt embarrassed, their reaction proved that my horrific image worked. The effects and the makeup is very realistic, so all the hard work was worth it.”

Guilty earned a Category III rating for its violence, suggestive dialogue, and masturbation scenes. Pakho is not surprised at the rating and said he said many scenes in the film were extreme. “The most unforgettable scene was when I got shot. I was naked, bloody, and was lying on top of a garbage dump. The filming environment was extremely vile, stinky, and dirty. They told me to take off all my clothes and sleep on it. It’s even harder to film than love scenes!” Fortunately for Pakho, he completed the scene in just one take.

Guilty, which also stars Liddy Li (李悅彤), will be released on March 12.
