Anita Yuen is Not Worried About Chilam Cheung’s Youthful Looks

At a recent event to promote a family-oriented health supplement, Anita Yuen (袁詠儀) was naturally asked about her family. She mentioned that she and her husband, Chilam Cheung (張智霖) took their son Morton to the United States for a long vacation over the summer.

“Morton’s term ended really early, in about mid-June, so we decided to go on vacation to the United States. When he was going to school, I was so free and had so much time for myself. But the moment school ended, we went to the United States for about two weeks, and I basically became his servant for two weeks!”

Anita added that she tried to teach 8-year-old Morton to be more independent during the trip and said happily, “I think it was really successful. He has now learned to fold his own clothes and put them away. He has become so tidy!”

Anita then revealed that even though the media often praises Chilam for looking young and dashing, she did not feel any pressure. She laughed and said, “I have my own appeal. He’s the one who’s more nervous and always asking me where I am! Since we’re both in the entertainment circle, it’s rare for us to be free at the same time, so I really appreciate it when we can both take a break and go away together. We work hard so we can then go on fun vacations!”

On how she feels about turning 40 on September 4, Anita mused, “The older I am, the less I feel like having a big celebration. I guess the most important thing about entering my forties is to be healthy. I will probably have a dinner with some friends and all our children.”

  1. i always thought she looked older than her actual age. i thought she was already in her 40s. she was so beautiful in her early 20s then in late 90s, she started to look old.

In case you guys did not know,I heard that Anita has thyroid disease which can certainly make you age a lot. I know that for sure since some people in my family have that disease too and boy they look way older than their actual age. That disease can make you look sick, gaunt and haggard. I saw that with my oldest brother. His face looked really thin, gaunt, caved in and his eyes sort of popped out. After getting medication, you look and feel better but you never truly get back to your original looks which I think is the case with Anita.

      1. @hetieshou Christine Kuo became fat and they blame it on hypothyroidism. Everyone should get their thyroid checked. It seems becoming fat, skinny, old, wrinkly are all associated with thyroid?

It is not always the thyroid but other things can make you look thin, gaunt, fatter, etc… When my brother first started looking thinner, gaunt and old,we thought it was due to diabetes. However, after a blood test,we found out that he had hyperthyroidism which is what I think Anita has too.

  2. I think Anita looks fine. This is how a normal 40-year old supposed to look. Besides you can’t expect everyone to look ageless like Joey Meng or Gigi Lai. Anita still look beautiful IMO, it’s unfortunate that Chilam doesn’t age which makes her looks older.

Good point Mike which is why my mom opposes the older women and younger men relationship since women age a lot faster than men do.
