Chilam Cheung Declared as Most Dashing Pilot in “Triumph in Skies 2”
Chilam Cheung (張智霖) has been declared as the most dashing pilot in Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II>! Joining the cast in the sequel to TVB’s popular drama, Chilam will portray a playboy pilot. Netizens touted Chilam as being an even more dashing pilot than Francis Ng (吳鎮宇), a compliment which Chilam awkwardly brushed aside.
Chilam and Francis will both be vying for the love of pilot, Fala Chen (陳法拉). The trio’s “30-40-50” love triangle was appealing on the eyes, despite the large age gap between them. Fala is 30 years old, Chilam is 40 years old, and Francis Ng 50 years old. The men maintained their youthful looks and Chilam even wore clothes from his private wardrobe yesterday for better results.
Last night’s outdoor filming in Lan Kwai Fong attracted a large pedestrian gathering. Fala and Francis were standing on the street, when Chilam drove by in his white Jaguar. Fala immediately rushed to Chilam’s side and the pair displayed their easy affection for each other. Fala and Chilam continued to have a lively exchange inside the car.
With his extensive experience in filming movies, Francis offered valuable input to the cinematographer, including angles in which the scenes can be be filmed. Due to the high summer temperatures, Francis was seen sweating noticeably in his suit jacket.The scene required one hour to film before the cast and crew of Triumph in the Skies 2 wrapped up the work for the evening.
Myolie Wu Reveals Short Haircut
Francis Ng and Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) portrayed memorable lovers in the original Triumph in the Skies. Although Myolie will resume her role as Francis’ wife, “Zoe,” her character will only appear for several episodes before dying. Afterward, Francis will eventually become romantically involved with Fala Chen.
Myolie will portray a second role in Triumph in the Skies 2 as an aircraft technician. At producer Joe Chen’s (陳維冠) request, Myolie has already cut her hair short for her tomboyish role. She will have a romance with Ron Ng (吳卓羲) in the sequel.

Lol, I’m not really against Fala being in the film but what I’m against is her being the main girl! I’m not much a fan of her!
Myolie and Fala co-leading reminded me of Flora and Myolie in the first part. At the time, Myolie paired up with Francis while Flora paired up with Joe. Yeah, there were complaints bc Myolie was just rising up. But, hey, fans got over it.
How I see it is TVB is grooming Fala next. Myolie already won BA. Her position at TVB is safe. While she’s expanding to Mainland, TVB is promoting Fala.
It’s certainly interesting, because in hindsight, people seem to have embraced Myolie as Zoe and not consider her “stealing the limelight” from Flora. Fala is on almost, if not same level as Myolie, yet people can’t accept her being paired up with Chilam and Francis? Even though, Myolie was paired up with Francis when she was a newbie and with Chilam just last year in that Blossom series. I find the hypocrisy ~amusing tbh.
When Myolie acted as Zoe, it was the first installment, and she and Francis, ended up being one of the most well loved couples. During Valentines this year, when there was the voting for the best couples award, I believe this was one of the top 10 couples after 10 years, it’s still extremely popular.
So TVB is telling me that although they can get both leads back for the installment, they are gonna kill off one and make the other a lookalike, and no, they aren’t gonna be together? Usually they kill off a lead if the lead is busy with another series, or unable to come back, but this?
So is it hypocrisy? No.
And in fact, if it isn’t fala, but someone like Mandy (who is actually a newbie like Myolie was in TITS), it may be better received. As there has been quite some recent news about Fala being too big for her boots, like news about her withdrawing from SSSS was actually because she didn’t want to play 2nd fiddle to Tavia, and then her album, where she starts blaming her record company for not promoting her album enough (she IS a newbie afterall, stop acting like she’s top singer), I don’t like how arrogant she is now.
I certainly prefer TVB to groom Mandy than Fala.

I agree that if Myolie is filming the sequel, then she should have played Zoe, not another character. As to why she got booted, I don’t know. But, it’s not Fala’s fault. I understand fans are upset. Myolie had her share of complaints in the first part.
Also, I don’t think Fala is acting like a “big shot” as many claimed.

It’s plain out hypocrisy because people can’t take that Fala gets paired up with two popular actors. Completely disregarding the fact that Myolie has been paired up with both Francis and Chilam in the past, before she was even TVB’s no. 1 fadan. Are Chilam and Francis being used to prop Fala? Probably. Likely because TVB wants her to get a good chance at TV Queen next year. But seeing as they did exactly the same for Myolie last year… I am not seeing the problem. Or, if people have a problem with it when it’s Fala, but not with Myolie then I certainly will claim hypocrisy!

It’s clearly Fala who’s writing the script now.

I don’t mind Fala in it, but would much prefer Myo to be female lead. I was hoping for Sam and Zoe to reunite for TITS2. Even if Myo doesn’t play Zoe anymore, I’d still like her to pair with Francis.
I actually like Fala, She did it pretty well in LOO. But when it comes to Zoe It don’t feel right that a zoe look a like in the film should end up with another person, I am already against that Zoe dies out, and now when the look a like Zoe don’t even ends up with Sam, then it is dissapointing.

Nope, you’re not alone! Fala can’t handle the weight of this series. With such a big production, they shouldn’t be taking risks like that. In another article, Fala even dared to say that she’s going to fight for a chance to sing the themesong too!

It’s not that creepy. 99.9% of mainland dramas and Korean dramas do the same thing. But in those the second role is like a sister or daughter of the first role. Often appearing at the same time.

Don’t like the pairing!! Terrible storyline. Fall shouldn’t get the 2 main male leads- Francis and Chilam going after her. But the most stupid pairing is Myolie with Ron. She died as Francis’s wife only to return later as Ron’s gf, who is also Francis younger brother!! That’s really lousy storyline!! Myolie should play the love interest of Chilam and because she looks so much like Francis’s dead wife, Francis chase after her as well. At the same time, Fala can comes in as the 4th party in this triangle love and make it into 4some!! I can accept this plot better than Fala getting all the limelight!! She can’t hold down the fort!
Not looking forward to TITS 2 because I really don’t like Fala at all!, her acting is only bearable at times!!

your plot makes a lot more sense… I think TVB is trying too hard in the past few years to be different, so different to the point that it makes no sense. I understand if they are trying to be original and bring fresh ideas but some classics are meant to be untouched- or at least make it work to continue the legacy.
The whole pairing thing spoils it for me. I wanna watch Myolie with Francis and Chilam. 🙁 now I am not so sure I will look forward to series. 😥

I think audiences doesn’t care of Ron anymore, maybe minority mostly his fans will be anticipating to view his performances and most are eager to watch Francis and ChiLam, teh 2 power handsome men rather than a womanizer with kinky fetish

Myolie is always suitable for short hair, she’s one of those who can carry short hair well. and Chilam, he’s a never old legend.
Fala is obviously leading over myolie in TITS2. Look at the male leads they’re paired up with: Fala with the highest paid actors on the series – Chilam and Francis…. and look at Myolie – having cut an ugly tomboy haircut and paired up with pitiful Ron who’s always in supporting roles …….. poor myolie. Big sacrifice (for her hair) – im not even sure its worth it.
I think tvb is using Francis and Chilam to promote Fala, and using Myolie to promote the other newbies. Summer (Myolie’s new character) is well liked by the technicians under her and also the landlord of some of the air stewardesses.

Yes, yes. Francis and Chilam are propping Fala while Myolie is propping Ron. Just like Francis propped Myolie in the first TITS. What’s the big deal? This only cements Myolie’s status as leading lady when she is the one propping other people.
I’m not excited about Fala either. They should have replaced Flora with a more mature woman… like Maggie Cheung, Jessica Hsuan, or even Charmaine..
Maggie went to CTI, Jessica already terminated contract with tvb so is Charmaine. Doubt any of these will want to film for TVB for such a long series lol.

I love Myolie and I love Zoe too. Myolie is very lovely, beautiful and professional. She is a perfect actress. Zoe is No.1 in TITS 1, in Sam’s heart. I really hope Zoe won’t die in TITS 2. TVB should listen to the audiences’ ideas. Myolie must be the lead female in TITS 2. Myolie is the angel of TITS 1, no reason for the second role in TITS 2. She no.1 forever.
