Gigi Lai Prepares for Third Pregnancy with Pilates Class

Despite husband Patrick Ma’s (馬廷強) happiness with his three daughters, Gigi Lai (黎姿) appears determined to give birth to a son this year. Following rumors last year that she is expecting her fourth child, the 42-year-old ex-actress was recently seen attending a high-end Pilates class in the Wan Chai district.

After her marriage to Patrick in 2009, Gigi has been occupied with looking after her three daughters – a set of four-year-old twins and a 16-month-old – and checking up on her younger brother’s cosmetic clinic. In order to foster harmonious relationships with her children, Gigi makes sure to eat breakfast with them every morning and read them bedtime stories at night. She also arranges playdates for them so the girls will learn how to interact with other children and not become spoiled.

Although Patrick has said that it does not matter whether his wife gives birth to a boy or a girl, especially now that she has passed the 40-year-old benchmark, Gigi clearly still hopes to have a son. After her previous two pregnancies, she paid close attention to her postnatal recuperation and followed her nutritionist’s health diets. She also pays regular visits to well-known Hong Kong doctor Clement Ho (何永超) to ensure that her body is still in top shape.

Recently, Gigi began attending classes at Nonie Yung Gyrotonic and Pilates Studio, located in the Wan Chai district. The classes focus on gyrokinesis, a form of exercise used as pain therapy and which can also help strengthen one’s ligaments and tendons. The cost for an hour-long class can reach up to $1,250 HKD – or even higher if the student requests the instructor to make a home visit.

On January 28, Gigi was spotted heading to the Nonie Studio. Sporting a white wool sweater and a face mask, she appeared to have a slight baby bump. She remained at the studio for 45 minutes.

  3. This chick has the worst luck in all of HK, worked in HK industry to support her entire family. Paid for tuition for her brother to be a medical doctor. Her brother gets into a taxi and gets into a car accident, becomes disabled and borderline retard. Forced with medical bills, she gets “bought off” pretty much by an old rich guy with a messed up leg. She justs another girl with a “V” for sale. At least there is money in it for her for squeezing out all these kids.

    1. I know right. I feel sad for her. Im not a big fan of gold diggers but…I actually don’t mind Gigi being a gold digger.

  4. It’s the male sperm that determine the sex of the baby. If she gets another girl then it’s her husband’s problem. I am so thankful that I got what I wanted…a boy then a girl, another girl is expecting which is perfect my daughter wants a sister and my son doesn’t mind. He just wish the baby is healthy.
