Joey Yung’s Net Worth Valued at $400 Million HKD

Joey Yung (容祖兒) is not only the queen of Cantopop, she is also the queen of investments. Owning 12 estates nestled between various districts in the Hong Kong Island, Joey’s net worth is reportedly valued at $400 million HKD.

The past four years have been running smoothly for Joey, who not only maintained success in her music career, but also in love. The 35-year-old has been steadily dating Wilfred Lau (劉浩龍) for nearly three years. While the couple initially tried to keep their relationship low profile, their relationship has been closely followed from the onset. Sources say that Wilfred recently signed a $3 million HKD contract with Gold Typhoon, hoping to advance more in the film industry.

Under the wise direction of her mother, Joey has been investing her earnings in luxury homes and complexes with market prices reaching over $200 million HKD. In the last two years, Joey invested in an industrial building worth approximately $10 million HKD and another ground estate worth around $20 million HKD.

In addition, Joey owns 10 luxury units scattered around Hong Kong Island. All estates now have reached a total market price of over $300 million HKD, making her one of the wealthiest and highest-earning celebrities in town.

  1. Wow, rich lady. I do prefer her singing than Mirium Yeung. At least, she has more stamina and apart from that Mirium Yeung laughs non-stop, funny or not funny. To me she looks like a crazy woman.

    1. ya..i do agree with you..i had initially thought miriam is cuckoo..and i don’t watch any of her movies too..

    2. Absolutely agreed with you bloom, never like Miriam Yeung , her character like a crazy woman , not stylish , big face do not go along with her body !

    3. Yeah I initially only liked joey too, but Miriam eventually caught my admiration with her singing and acting talent. At first I thought she was really fake cus who laughs that much? She was laughing at everything whether humorous or not. But she’s actually one of the more practical and level-headed artists out there. I don’t know if she laughs so much out of reflex, anxiety or just plain habit, but this is just her. And how she laughs like crazy doesn’t mask her talent, which is the only thing I really look for in an artist anyway.

      1. Hi Coralie,

To be honest these days none of the singers are really up to the mark compare to the older ones. Because those days being a singer or actress/actor requires a lot of skills or ability. Maybe it’s too much if I said the late Anita Mui is good because she was performing since young. But you notice those older generation singers most of them sing without gasping with air, I dont know what’s the right word but when you listen to Mirium Yeung as compare to Joey Yung she gasps are soooooo obvious.

But I cant stand she laughs and laughs, really like a mad woman esp on things that no others were laughing.

    4. never a big fan or miriam, it’s not that he laughing bothers me. it’s more w/ her looks i guess. not pretty or super talented. although these days, i am starting to appreciate her singing more but she is still not outstanding. i just never understood how she became such a big star.

      1. above comment is for miriam. i do like joey. she sings well and she’s getting better.

  2. well shes literally been the only consistent female singer in HK in past 10 years, the fortune had to go to some1

  3. I’m not surprised by her wealth since her and Charlene have been investing into real estate very early on in their career. Even if these two retired now, they’ll still be well off.

    1. Agree, especially when the real estate in Hong Kong is doing nothing but skyrocketing nowadays, investing in property was a smart financial decision to begin with. Coming from a western country, it’s soooo insane seeing how expensive Hong Kong apartments are, and they aren’t even large apartments for the high cost they’re worth. Wouldn’t be surprised if their returns from real estate investments are worth higher than their salary income lol.

      1. @clementine – ehh but I don’t see this real estate burst growing permanently. In fact, I feel like just with speculation in the ‘states, prices will burst eventually. Maybe slower bursting, but property prices will fall. Just a matter of when.

Then again, HK real estate is like NY real estate, just one of those places you never want to move, even at the expense of living in a box. So maybe property priced won’t waver.

  4. Good girl put all $$$$ into real estate. Can’t do wrong there. Daddy’s little girl all grown up. Comparing Joey to Miriam is like comparing a Ford and a Mercedes-Benz. LOL 😀

    1. As long as the both of them are trully in love and Joey doesn’t mind the financial gap then who cares. It’s the media that emphasizes it. But it’s their personal relationship, so keep quiet.

  5. Joey has been and still is my fave female singer since I was 6 or so and she just debuted. There are other female singers that are more musically talented than her or sings better than her, but still, no one can compare to her. She is an all rounded singer that continues to try new things and can really bring up the heat in the audience. Really happy to see that she has improved in singing in the past 2 years.
EEG is making their 15th anniversary such a big deal, but how come their not doing anything for Joey’s 15th anniversary =(

  6. Joey used to be my fav when she was a newbie singing avoiding love. I honestly don’t think she’s all that great but since there’s nobody to compete with then this made her to be the best.

  7. Hk singers are sucks now, I have no idea what they sing anymore. People got over popular even when they are sucks especially Kate tse, Alfred hui and gem. I was laughing my butt of when watching the voice of china, all of the contestsnts voice changes but they still have to hand out awards just for the heck of it.

Taiwan and china singers are awesome
