Squid Game star Lee Jung Jae triumphs again! After his first SAG award last week, Jung Jae won Best Male Performer at the 37th Independent Spirit Awards held on March 6. Acknowledged for his remarkable acting skills and global influence, the star is on a massive roll as he continuously makes ground-breaking achievements in the international space.
Due to schedule conflicts, Jung Jae was unable to physically attend the Independent Spirit Awards, but accepted his award through a recorded video where he thanked everyone who showed their love for Squid Game. He also shared his gratitude to Netflix and the production team, and concluded his speech by hoping everyone will patiently wait for the second season.
One of the most prestigious awards ceremonies, Independent Spirit Awards had a star-studded lineup this year as popular actors in attendance included Kristen Stewart, Andrew Garfield, and Michelle Yeoh.
As a nominee, Jung Jae faced tough competition, but he proved his star power after beating out Olly Alexander in It’s a Sin, Michael Greyeyes in Rutherford Falls, Murray Bartlett in The White Lotus, and Ashley Thomas in THEM: Covenant.
