Maggie Shiu’s Boyfriend A Freeloader and Cheater in Love?
In 1999, Ekin Cheng (鄭伊健)left Maggie Shiu (邵美琪)for Gigi Leung (梁詠琪), a break up that rocked Hong Kong. Since ending her relationship with Ekin Cheng, 46-year-old Maggie Shiu had dated intermittently without much success. Ten years after breaking up with Ekin, Maggie’s love life appeared lackluster until Sudden Weekly discovered that “leftover bachelorette” Maggie caught the last train and started a new romance!
Since converting to Nichiren Buddhism last year, Maggie’s normally stubborn personality and perspective in love became more open. Filming Johnnie To’s (杜琪峰) Tactical Unit, Comrades in Arms <機動部隊-同袍> at the end of 2008, Maggie met actor, Vincent Sze (施祖男). Maggie insisted on filming the action scenes herself, which offered Vincent an opportunity to pursue her. An inside source revealed, “Vincent only shared a few scenes with Maggie, but he knew how to flatter her. While filming at a rural location one night, Maggie injured her leg. Vincent applied tonic, wrapped up Maggie’s injury and even massaged her leg. The rest of the male crew members were rougher and not as attentive as a well-educated man such as Vincent. Whenever Maggie had scenes, Vincent would surface on the set, regardless of whether he had any scenes to film. Everyone on the set knew that Vincent was pursuing Maggie!”

Since breaking up with Ekin, Maggie refrained from dating younger men. After Vincent aggressively pursued Maggie, she put aside their 9-year age gap and accepted the younger-man-older-woman relationship. Earlier, Maggie revealed her preference in men, “There have been pursuers all along. However, they were not our type. I prefer muscular men so they can protect me.” No wonder Vincent Sze, who possessed black belts in Taekwondo and karate, succeed in winning Maggie’s heart.
Vincent Given Free Housing and Car Access
At the age of three, Vincent and his family immigrated to France. Several years ago, he returned to Hong Kong and entered the entertainment industry via a friend’s introduction. Over the last few years, Vincent filmed numerous action films. Although his martial arts skills were impressive, his recognition levels were not high and typically portrayed villain characters beaten to death by lead actors.
Since Vincent lived in an older housing structure in the Kwa Wan section, Maggie invited him to move into her North Point mid-levels apartment and allowed him free access to drive her white Toyota bB car. With one person working and two people spending, Maggie abandoned her prior rule of not filming in China and headed north to film two mainland dramas, Palace <宮鎖心玉> and Happy Marshal <歡樂元帥> last year.
Without any current work projects, Vincent often drove Maggie’s car for joy rides. In addition, he was spotted washing the dirty laundry at the laundromat near their home. Vincent often spent the remainder of his time home.
Vincent Cheating Behind Maggie’s Back?
In mid-July, Vincent was spotted leaving Viking Villas and driving to Tsim Sha Tsui’s Sheraton Hotel. Vincent got on the escalator in the hotel lobby and did not emerge until 2 AM in the garage facilities. By Vincent’s side was a hot-looking woman in white shorts. The pair spoke softly but laughed loudly.
Appearing more wary than usual, Vincent looked left and right. After paying the parking fee, Vincent waited until his female companion got inside the car. The pair drove to Harborview Horizon in the Hung Hom district and lingered for ten minutes prior to entering the lobby.
It was believed that after waiting ten years, Maggie had finally found a partner for the back-half of her life. However, Vincent may have secretly cheated behind her back. Perhaps Maggie’s love life was destined to be rough!

In 1992, Maggie and Ekin Cheng started dating. When Maggie fell sick, Ekin vowed to take care of her for life. However, seven years into their relationship, Ekin fell for Gigi Leung and broke up with Maggie.
Cheng Lun Kwong
In 2003, Maggie had romantic rumors with real estate millionaire, Cheng Lun Kwong (鄭倫光). The pair traveled to Beijing together and photos were snapped in which Maggie leaned on Mr. Cheng’s shoulder.
Kenny Wong
In 2006, Maggie and Kenny Wong (黃德斌)had romantic rumors from filming Dance of Passion <火舞黃沙>. The pair flirted openly in front of others; however the rumors eventually died.
Lee Sing Man

I notice that whoever is together with Ekin or now known as Dior Cheng will become a leftover if he dumps them in future. Dior cheng seems like someone who doesn’t like to commit esp in a relationship and still prefer life as bachelor with on and off relationship with random female artist.

There are still women like Yoyo Mung because she’s much in love and real happy. I can say that for sure. I’m a die-hard fan of Yoyo and I never seen she so happy and in love like she is with Ekin right now. After 5 years, they are going strong and I believe this love will last. Love can’t force. Maggie never complain about EKin, she says he was very good to her, so she will never complain and talk bad about him. Only people and reporters who are not know clearly what happened between them keep complaining. However I feel pity for her for not getting any status from Ekin cuz I really think as a woman who has been together with their bf for such a long time such atleast get a recognition as a matter of respect. I understand what you are saying, but if you really like Yoyo, you will understand her. She is very carefree person, she don’t want to have children and not only EKin who never believe in marriage, Yoyo as well, this is what she said long ago before she met Ekin, so I believe she not saying it because EKin say it too .. as she said if they don’t want to have the next generation, why they need to get married? However,last year, Ekin admit he’s planning for marriage… he admit he is very slow person, he never thought he want to get married, but now, he really want to… but give him sometimes to get used to the ideas. I only point out the pattern in Ekin’s relationships that I have observed.
I feel like ekin has peter pan syndrome. It might’ve been part of his initial charm that made the ladies fall for him. U know how some girls think they can change a guy…
I don’t think ekin is a bad guy, just not a really thoughtful guy. I know he was serious in all his relationships and he may think that is enough. But how many 7 yrs does a woman have? Yes, they willingly spent those 7 yrs on him but I’m pretty sure they thought it would last forever. Did he tell them that he was never going to marry them? He has to know he hurt Maggie and gigi deeply. and I think a man should bear responsibility for his actions.
As for yoyo, I hope her beliefs don’t change. If she decides one day that she does want marriage and children, will ekin finally commit? For both of their sakes, I hope it turns out well and the 7 yr itch doesn’t strike again.

I don’t know if this is the house, but it seems like Maggie stays there for very long time already, right? After they broke up, Ekin gave her the house, and all the money that he shared with her. That’s all I know of.
Yoyo Mung and Ekin relationship is not perfect as it seem. There are numerous news about her gambling habit, and loosing so much money to the point that Ekin did think about break up with her. Eventually Yoyo cries and say sorry to Ekin and he forgave her, I guess her gambling improve now.

However, after she dated Ekin, there are so many things bad they talk about, Like she dump someone for Ekin, She gambles, , she acts like a diva, she bully children, she got frozen-ed by TVB…… You know why?? Anya, this is not about Ekin broke or not, this is about Yoyo gambling before. The news in 2009, read the date OK. She could have quit gambling since Ekin said if she not quit, he will break up with her. You acting like Yoyo is a “fairy” and so “perfect”, guess what, she not. So what if she go vacation with Ekin parents, their vacation in 2011. Her gambling time is in 2009, she could have quit gambling and Ekin parents are happy and accept her.

I’m not mean Yoyo is “fairy” Actually I like Yoyo not because I idolize her. I like her because she’s so real. She someone speak her mind and many times offend others. She doesn’t mind to go out in public with no makeup on, and often people laugh at her for that. She not even great at acting either. I know all that… I just like her because I first hook up with her in movies “Running out of time” with Andy Lau, and “Expect and unexpected” that’s what make me like her and being her fan until this day. So many time I’m so upset at her for not being so lady like like other actress, so not dressup, talk gently like other artists…. many people talking bad about her for being like that…. but later I understand that… her real, simple, care free character that make me like her and being her fan for that long.

Actually, Dior came before Ekin. Way back when he released his first album, I knew him as Dior Cheng. Only later he became Ekin and Noodle. So, I believe Dior is his original english name.

I’m not a fan of Yoyo but I admire her offscreen personality as she is very down to earth and care free. Ekin is definitely not the wrong when it comes to whatever relationship for sure. Why do people always blame the guy? Women are not always innocent. Ekin and Yoyo are happy with each other and they both have the same views in life so why can’t we wish them the best? If you meet Ekin in person you will know that he is one of the kindest people out there. Both Yoyo and Ekin are lucky to have each other.

Yoyo was busy filming for TVB so she couldn’t have time to come here to attend hís concert.
However, fans of them all say that these two both look better in person, they are not photogenic. I đin’t believe so, but after I met Ekin in person, I have to say fans are right. Love is very strange, it’s difficult to say. You may find those women fall for Ekin is silly. But, who knows maybe Yoyo will be last woman for Ekin and he’ll eventually marry her? I’m not a fan of Yoyo but I can tell that she’s very happy with Ekin.

Yeah I know love is strange and very unpredicted. I actually didn’t hold any hatre to Ekin or Yoyo, both are my favourite artists/singer. Well, I did not mean to say that Maggie would have been better off with Leon and Andy for sure since WHO really knows what would have happened?? We can only guess and speculate… Also about Leon and Shu Qi, I heard that his dad did not approve of Shu Qi because she used to be a porn actress. His dad did not like that so Leon had no choice but to end the relationship with her. It is hard when your parents don’t approve of your girlfriend/boyfriend. With both of their cases, who really knows what would have happened for sure? How can you be sure that Leon would have dumped Maggie? I also heard that Leon had a crush on Maggie Shiu in the late 1980s, before they filmed “The Breaking Point” together.
As for Andy Lau, he only praised Maggie as being one of the most beautiful actresses to convincingly portray an ethnic minority princess, based on their collaboration in TVB series, “Take Care Your Highness.” Btw, Andy’s compliment towards Maggie was after her break up with Ekin. It was Andy’s way of praising Maggie and saying a nice thing about her after the break up. I don’t think Andy had a crush on Maggie.

But since we are not them, we don’t know for sure… I guess it just doesn’t matter anymore since it is the long past now and Andy is now married.

No worries, no offence from me too ya. I understand how you felt. It takes 2 to tango and I truly believe in that. I mean if they choose to cohabit I’m sure it’s willingly by both parties. Of course, we women are always at the losing end when a relationship fails. There’s nothing guarantee in any relationship, marriage doesn’t guarantee happiness, forever also. I don’t know what to say maybe it’s all fated. I also believe Ekin is a nice person and I also believe he puts his heart into all his previous relationships that he had with Maggie & Gigi. I liked Ekin during my childhood but when I grow up I realize that his acting was overrated and not as a good as I thought!

Poor Maggie – I have been a great fan of hers for many years and really like her, as a person as well as an actress. Howevers, she certainly doesnt seem very lucky in love. I only hope that she finds true love one day, someone who is worthy of her as she seems so very nice.

Since Maggie’s break up with Ekin, I felt that she lost a spark in her acting. In the early 1990s, she had a very distinctive style and portrayed strong, principled heroines.
Loved Maggie Shiu and Deric Wan in their collaborations together.
My personal favorite Maggie role was in The Survivor 藍色風暴 , as she played a hit woman with a tragic past. The role was custom tailored for her and the character had a certain loneliness, exterior strength, yet inner fragility that reminds me very much of Maggie.
Aside from Deric Wan, I think Maggie had the best chemistry with Gallen Lo, followed by Sean Lau.
I wonder how will be Maggie’s career now if she has not faded to the background those years ago.

I watched the DVD of “Tactical Unit – Comrades in Arm” mentioned in this gossip article. It is an interesting movie. That group picture of Maggie, Simon Yam, and others are actors of that movie, so the picture of Maggie and Vincent must be from the same event couple of years ago. I wonder if Vincent is really her new boyfriend, why there is no latest picture of them together? Wait, there is not even any recent picture of Maggie alone. hm…

Don’t know how much of her past love life as reported above is true, but I do know the whole Ekin thingy. That alone qualifies as too much heartbreak caused by some men. I hope that whatever she action, or inaction she chooses to take will not be one that she will regret.

Maggie will be happy whether she is in love or not because she is such a positive person. She is actually a child at heart, cares alot for people. Met her for the first time last year at an event and I can never forget her kind gesture. She is so beautiful and genuine in real life. in my opinion, she is too good for any man.
