MHK Contestants Refute Lesbian Rumors and Breast Implant Rumors
It is no secret that the ten finalists set to compete in this year’s Miss Hong Kong Pageant have been shrouded with negative rumors. So reporters gave a few of the contestants the chance to clear their name when they recently attended the recording of TVB’s variety program All Things Girl <姊妹淘>.
Negative Press for #4 Vivian Iu (姚懿芠)
It was speculated that Vivian was a lesbian after intimate photos of her and Judas, a female street singer, were leaked. In regards to the homosexuality rumors, Vivian admitted that Judas was a close friend and her senior, but she denied having dated her and added that they have not been in contact. In fact, Vivian said her sexual orientation is “normal,” and she has many friends of both genders. She counters that the report will make it difficult for her to find a boyfriend.
The finalist has also been bogged down with negative rumors of being a bad student. However, she said she neither bullied her classmates nor smoked at school. Vivian explained that maybe people misunderstood her because she was always surrounded by friends who smoked.
Vivian was also accused of lying about living in a Kowloon Tong mansion when she is actually living in a public housing estate in Tin Shui Wai. She smiled and said she does not live in a Kowloon Tong mansion but wishes to live in one with three helpers. The truth is Vivian lives in Tuen Mun, but #6 Blossom Chan (陳熙蕊) felt that Vivian lived too far so she invited Vivian to live with her since she is afraid of living alone. After Vivian moved in, they always take the taxi together, so it’s cheaper. Vivian laughed and asked if they would be misunderstood.
#1 Carmaney Wong (黃嘉雯) Did Not Get a Boob Job
Not too long ago, Carmaney ‘s high school classmate exposed that the finalist received breast augmentation in high school. Carmaney thought the claim was funny as she wasn’t 18 in high school, so it would be impossible for her to get breast implants. She is also very satisfied with what her mom gave her and emphasized that her breasts are all-natural. While she’s not sure which classmate backstabbed her, Carmaney said the school uniform was very conservative so it’s hard to make out one’s figure.
The classmate also accused Carmaney of being flirty and hanging out with male students, but Carmaney insisted that she did not date in high school, which she feels is a little regretful. She shared that she was very shy and often hung out with her female classmates. Carmaney believes the negative rumors would not impact the results of the pageant because they are false.
Winners of the Day
On All Things Girl, #2 Kayan Choi (蔡嘉欣) won the “Most Appealing Full Lips Award.” Also, hosts Jacqueline Chong (莊思敏), Bowie Cheung (張寶兒) and Ada Wong (王子涵) selected Blossom as their top picks.
