Moses Chan Dodges Bernice Liu’s Marriage Deadline

At a function earlier, Bernice Liu Bik Yee mentioned that she would like to get married before turning thirty-five years-old. Bernice’s rumored boyfriend, Moses Chan Ho, awkwardly responded to the marriage deadline, “I don’t know what to say. Marriage is a happy matter and each person will eventually get married. I will leave it in fate’s hands. However, some things are beyond our control. We do not know what will happen tomorrow, maybe I will get married and have a child.”

What was Moses’ target? “I am afraid to say., so I do not want to set a deadline.” (Does Bernice have a deadline?) “Right now, I will focus on my career first. I will treasure many things.” (Was Moses afraid of being scolded by female fans if he revealed his dating relationship?) “No, I am more subtle and like to keep some things to myself. I will not deny that during the appropriate time, I will acknowledge the relationship.”

Jayne: Moses Chan’s response is quite subtle, but he pretty much admitted that he was in a relationship, but just now ready to acknowledge it publicly yet. It sounds like the couple has discussed marriage and decided to wait a few more years.

  1. I wonder what anyone means by leave it to fate? Fate does not make the marriage proposal, buy the ring, book the church, prepare the dinner banquet, etc. You leave it to fate to meet someone and after you do meet them, fate is not the one which decides when is marriage. If you love her and she loves you and you want to spend the rest of your lives together, then get married! For all I know they may have already done the deed in a quickie marriage.

  2. Totally agree with you Funn! Fate just allows you to meet the person, but after that it is up to you to do the rest of it. But then again, they could have already gotten married in secrecy and we will not find out until years later. OR a baby pops out in the middle of nowhere so they have to have an emergency wedding… I have seen that too…

  3. HeTieShou, I think Moses and Bernice are too career-minded to just let the baby pop up in the middle of nowhere. They have been going out forever and seem to have a well-grounded relationship. The 5 year time-frame sounds like a good time for them….

  4. Jayne,
You have a point, but accidents happen a lot you know.I have seen it in many cases. If that did happen, I wonder how they would handle it??

  5. Honestly, it would be sort of sad if they were like Carina and Tony.. It would also be harder for them to have kids if they wait too long…
