Park Shin Hye to Play Doctor in Drama Comeback

Is actress Park Shin Hye making her comeback? Responding to media reports that the mother of one will be reuniting with actor Park Hyung-Sik for Doctor Slump, and both their agencies have responded in the affirmative that parties are currently in active talks!

Plot Synopsis

Upcoming drama Doctor Slump chronicles the journeys of two doctors with bright futures who hit rock bottom and gave up their medical careers; who later find growth, love and redemption in each other. Helmed by What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim scriptwriter Sun-woo Baek, it is set to air in October 2023 on JTBC.

Slated to play the role of Sky, Park Shin Hye’s onscreen character escapes from her duties after extreme pressures from the hospital professor; while Park Hyung-Sik plays lead character Jung Woo, a popular plastic surgeon who falls from the heights of success after a malpractice case. While they were rivals back at high school competing for the top student ranking, the two ended up as neighbors who share the pains of a career low, and find themselves romantically entangled.

Last Paired in 2013’s “The Heirs”
Last appearing in Sisyphus: The Myth which aired in 2021, Park Shin Hye announced news of her pregnancy and impending marriage to actor Choi Tae-joon, making public their four-year relationship. Giving birth to her son in May this year, Doctor Slump will likely be her comeback drama and her second medical drama to date after 2016’s Doctors – the actress dropped obvious hints in an Instagram post on October 14, “Please grow out, (my) hair, it’ll soon be time for work,”

Returning to screens after appearing in Soundtrack #1 which aired on Disney+ in March, Park Hyung-Sik debuted as part of boyband ZE:A in 2013, and had impressed viewers with a string of noteworthy performances in dramas Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth, Strong Girl Bong-soon and Happiness. His other drama, a Korean adaptation of The Golden Hairpin which he paired with Jeon So-nee, Yoon Jong-suk, Pyo Ye-jin, Lee Tae-sun and others also wrapped in September this year after 11 months of filming, and is poised to air come February 2023.

    1. Really? I never thought she was pretty, and only find her acting okay. But she picks good projects and I thought her claim to fame is that she is all natural and easy to like…

      1. I like her since she was a young girl…and her looks never changed… when many actress turn to lots of surgery. She kept her infamous nose in tact… She has so many suitors and lots of rich suitors but she settled for a nice guy who is not even a popular actor. I always had a soft spot for her. I feel she is pretty inside and outside. But that is only with my rose tainted glasses…
