Park Shin Hye’s “Doctor Slump” to Air on January 27

JTBC will be releasing Doctor Slump, starring Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik, on January 27. This is the second time the pair are working together after a 10-year gap since The Heirs. Doctor Slump is also Park Shin Hye’s first drama since giving birth.

The story centers on the growth and love of the two main characters who quit their jobs as doctors and end up as neighbors in a rooftop house. In the character posters, Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik are seen wearing school uniforms. Since the pair were former rivals, the caption stated, “The world cannot have two suns just like how the school cannot have two first place winners.”

Park Shin Hye’s character works as an anesthesiologist. Dubbed as a genius due to her extreme intelligence, she studied hard and became a doctor. Dissatisfied that her life consists of only work and studying, she decides to make a change.

Park Hyung Sik’s character has always placed first in academics. After studying at the top medical school in the country, he becomes a popular plastic surgeon. His life goes smoothly until a mysterious medical accident. When he meets Park Shin Hye’s character again, they comfort each other and a romantic relationship blossoms.

Doctor Slump is directed by Oh Hyun Jong, who also directed Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo and Find Me in Your Memory. The script is written by Baek Sun Woo, who also wrote My Roommate is a Gumiho.
