TVB’s upcoming martial arts drama A Fist Within Four Walls <城寨英雄> held its first round of promotions in Hong Kong yesterday. The period drama, which tells the story of kung fu masters living in 1950’s triad-ridden Kowloon Walled City, stars Ruco Chan (陳展鵬), Nancy Wu (胡定欣), Benjamin Yuen (袁偉豪), Philip Ng (伍允龍), Yuen Qiu (元秋), Grace Wong (王君馨), and Moon Lau (劉佩玥). It is Philip’s TVB drama debut.
Philip plays Lung Shing-fu, an underground Muay Thai boxer. The 38-year-old martial artist, who debuted in the industry as an action choreographer, shared, “I have several scenes where I am fighting in a boxing ring, so you’ll always see me in a Muay Thai outfit. That’s why I have to constantly work out to keep fit.”
Late 2015 was a busy time for Philip, who had to do another movie in between the filming of A Fist Within Four Walls. He said, “Around that time, I accepted a film offer to portray Bruce Lee (李小龍).” Asking if portraying the legendary martial artist was stressful, Philip admitted, “There was when I first received the role, but the film is about Bruce Lee’s life before he entered Hollywood. It’s about him founding Jeet Kune Do. This opportunity is a gift from God. I’m very blessed that I’ve received such an opportunity.”
Reporters then asked Philip if he is still in contact with his former rumored girlfriend Linda Chung (鍾嘉欣), who is currently resting in Vancouver. Philip said, “We did message each other when I was in Canada a while back.” (How is she now? How’s her pregnancy?) “We didn’t talk about that. If you want to know, you have to ask her.”
