Popular in the Military, Ethan Ruan Does Not Mind Collecting Other Men’s Underwear

Fulfilling his mandatory military obligations, Golden Horse Best Actor and Taiwan’s biggest heart throb, Ethan Ruan (阮經天) proved that his star wattage did not decrease while serving in the army! It was reported that Ethan was highly popular in the military and while regarded as a superstar, Ethan certainly did not possess any airs or receive preferential treatment!

Given the living arrangements in the barracks, where Ethan would need to eat, sleep, and shower without personal privacy, it was natural that Ethan would quickly make new friends. Ethan got along extremely well with his military friends due to his willingness to share humorous anecdotes regarding the entertainment industry from an insider perspective. According to his military friends, the 29-year-0ld was frequently asked to sign autographs, which he never refused. While on a short holiday break earlier, Ethan was spotted leaving the military grounds with a large group of friends, who acted as a protective “human wall” in shielding the paparazzi from the superstar.

It was speculated that due to Ethan’s celebrity status, he may receive preferential treatment in the Taiwanese army. However, this was proven to be false, as Ethan participated in the regular physical drills, as well as housekeeping chores at the barracks. Ethan accordingly volunteered to be responsible for the laundry duties of a dozen of his friends, fetching his friends’ underwear after washings. He also disposed the garbage on a regular basis. When a friend fractured his foot earlier, Ethan physically supported him each day to help him move about easier.

As a public figure in the military, Ethan believed that it was important to treat others on equal grounds. Allegedly, he always remained alert in class and never dozed off. Ethan’s behavior has generated respect and gained new friends!
