Ruco Chan, Phoebe Sin Make Promises to Each Other
Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) and Phoebe Sin‘s (單文柔) excitement is building up as their wedding day, October 13, is approaching. The wedding will be held at Hong Kong’s Four Seasons Hotel. The couple talked about their promises to each other and plans to start a family.
Previously stating that he will try his best to build a beautiful family, Ruco promised to keep Phoebe well fed. Ruco laughed, “Even if I don’t have anything to eat, I have to make sure she does.” Making this promise, Ruco will try his hardest to make sure that Phoebe is well taken care of for the rest of her life.
Revealing that she has never really given a second thought about having children in the past, Phoebe laughed, “I will give him the gift of boy-girl twins.”
Secret Gift From Ruco’s Mom
Although Ruco’s mother has not been well this year, her condition improved after hearing about the couple’s marriage decision. Ruco disclosed, “She has been rushing me to start a family. When I told her the news, I could see her happiness coming from the bottom of her heart. She was thinking, ‘Finally, I’ve waited long enough’. She’s cheerful every single day. Whenever she sees Phoebe, she reminds Phoebe to call her ‘Mom’ instead!”
Ruco’s mother will be passing on a family treasure to Phoebe once she marries into the family. Even though Ruco is curious as to what the gift is, his mother wants it to remain as a surprise. Explaining that his mother really loves Phoebe’s company and special soup, Phoebe made an excellent impression and is thankful to have her around to help whenever he is busy with work.
Sharing the News with Phoebe’s Family
When asked how Phoebe broke the wedding news to her family, she laughed and said it was Ruco who took the lead because she wanted to see how he would handle the situation.
Nervous at first, Ruco admitted, “I got to the point immediately and told them I had an announcement to make – I want to marry your daughter. At first, the entire family went silent for a moment, but someone finally spoke up and said as long as Phoebe likes it, then it is alright. When they asked Phoebe, she bounced the question to her mother, who then bounced the question to her aunt, who then passed on the question to her grandma. Lastly, her other aunt passed the question back to Phoebe; it ended up being a funny situation!”
After Phoebe’s family calmed down, they asked the couple if they have already thought about wedding venues. Initially wanting to have a destination wedding in Turkey, Ruco and Phoebe decided against the idea after considering the inconvenience of travel for the seniors in the family.

@littlefish I think she is joking lol. I always tell my husband I’m gonna have boy-girl twins when I’m pregnant because I want it to be over it in one go. Of course I know it’s up to chance but it’s nice to imagine.

Congrats to them but this couple doesn’t seem as genuine and compatible as Kevin & Grace (in comparison).
@myxx they have been staying together…a matter of time they will get married. strangely her family doesn’t seem to accept when Ruco mentioned they are getting married…on the contrary, Ruco’s mom seems to be excited.

I did find a little strange about her family is not that happy about her getting married soon. Phoebe promised to give twins? Maybe she is pregnant right now never know that’s why they’re rushing into marriage like everyone else think Grace Chan is pregnant too because they’re rushing into marriage too? @littlefish that’s not bad as for her age to be with someone around Ruco age I mean look at Grace and Kevin? Aaron Kwok and his wife Moka that’s a huge age difference I’m sure those ladies parents are not that happy either I heard Grace parents wasn’t happy at first then they get over it not sure if Moka parents is happy about it maybe they knew Aaron has money so I guess they’re happy with it who knows. Moses and Aimee are the same thing too and Roger and his wife not sure if these ladies their parents are happy at the first place about the men’s are way older than them. At least Ruco is not a sugar daddy because phoebe are an adult too.
@cutie777 age wise, ruco and phoebe are compatible. the difference is not huge compared to motor mouth and kevin cheng/aaron and moka.
ruco is successful. phoebe is new and still young…but at 28, it’s a nice age to start a family. when she is 40, her child would be 11. maybe her family is hoping she can find someone richer and popular.

I’m so happy for Ruco! After all the negative news with Nancy finally it has blown over and hopefully his marriage will be happy and easy. Let’s hope the paparazzi will leave him alone after the wedding.
I think most fans were at first cautious about Phoebe when their dating news broke. She wasn’t very well known, and the press was negative in portraying her image during the Miss Hong Kong competition.
But as her exposure grew and Phoebe became a familiar face in press interviews, Ruco’s fans also got to know her better. She’s very cheerful and earnest, and put more liveliness into Ruco.
I found it amusing to read about their promises to each other. It’s cute to see them banter like this. I saw her promise for “boy-girl twins” as just a cute joke. Of course she’s willing to have his kids, but she obviously worded her response to get a bit of laughter from Ruco.
I wish them happiness and can’t wait to see photos of their wedding celebration! Countdown to October 13 begins….

He has now developed verbal diarrhoea spilling all the details compared to his previous constipated self while she is competing with someone to be the greatest motor mouth! Together, they are an overdose = BORING. Oh come on, don’t bore others with details which are best kept between yourselves!!!!

@renac why so negative about Ruco’s upcoming wedding? It’s natural to be happy about one of the biggest days in his life. He can talk all he wants about his wedding.
I like this openness in celebrities, and that they include fans to share and witness their happiness. I like celebrities who flash their wedding photos, talk about their significant others, share baby photos. Definitely more positive topics to read about.
I was actually surprised by the level of initial secrecy in Kevin Cheng and Grace Chan’s wedding. Since it was a destination wedding in Bali, it would have been impossible for reporters to crash the wedding and interview the guests anyway. And eventually the guests would share wedding photos of the actual day too, can’t expect otherwise in this social-media crazy world.
Haha for Ruco fans: there will definitely be lots of coverage on his wedding on JayneStars. This is the celebrity wedding of the year for me personally. Look forward to it!
@jayne It is not about being negative about his big day but I find him rather annoying! What has happened to him wanting to be low profile in his relationship in the name of protecting her indeed!!! Now he is dishing out details contrary to what he said before! He has always said that he is very traditional but living together before marriage is not very traditional is it? Isn’t it alll BS? When it suits him, he will push for it but changes tack when the situation is different! Such inconsistency in his character!!!

Yes. Looks like Ruco is using this marriage to boost his popularity since his career has been lukewarm as of late. Note all the revealing specific details after months of silence, and also the wedding location. A Hong Kong hotel….

@renac with all due respect, what is wrong with Ruco being haopy and chatty about his upcoming wedding.? He is usually such an introvert, but this is his upcoming big day to a woman he loves. Love can make us happy. I can’t see him jumping on any couches, that is not Ruco, no matter how happy he is. As for being traditional, how many men and women say they are traditional and then are still shacking up before marriage and pumping out babies. At least he did not claim to be a born again christian and give Phoebe a nine month peresent before they marry. Even if rhey are in the family way, he is not thumping the bible in others faces. He isn’t jeopardizing Phoebe by dishing out details about his wedding. She also is a public figure and can handle the publicity and the media dogs and other do, and others. When Kevin and Mrs Motor Mouth Cheng spilled details about their wedding, they did not get this backlash. I love weddings and I’m looking forward to Ruco and Phoebe’s.

I have been to wonderful weddings at hotels. For the love of Sanity, can someone tell me what is wrong with weddings at a hotel. Ruco is getting married in his land of birth for all his friends and love ones to be present. I guess Ruco deserves a ticket from the H K police for announcing he is getting married at a hotel. How dare he do something that no other celebrity has done before by getting married at a hotel and making the information public. Shame on him.
