Tavia Yeung Was Hospitalized for Neck Injury; Karena Denied Pregnancy Rumors
Two weeks ago, Tavia Yeung (楊怡) was admitted to the hospital for several days, missing promotions for the upcoming The Hippocratic Crush 2 <On Call 36小時Ⅱ> at the Shanghai TV Festival. It was reported that her hospitalization may have been due to her hectic filming schedule for TVB’s new period drama Property Protector <守業者>, which costars Steven Ma (馬浚偉) and Maggie Shiu (邵美琪). At a horse race event earlier yesterday, the 33-year-old actress confirmed that her hospitalization was not due to fatigue, but due to cervical osteophytes – bone spurs in the neck.
“My neck had been hurting a lot recently, and the pain went all the way down to my shoulders. I went for a hospital check-up. They did an MRI scan and discovered that the cartilage disk between the fifth [and] sixth vertebrae on my spine was sticking out, and I also have bone spurs. I am supposed to attend physical therapy sessions, but I don’t have time for them yet. [The doctors] recommended that I should swim, but I don’t know how to swim! I don’t know what to do!”
At the mention that Tavia’s reported boyfriend Him Law (羅仲謙), who briefly worked as a lifeguard when he was in high school, could teach her how to swim, Tavia joked, “He can only save people! If I don’t get in the water, I wouldn’t need saving!”
Karena Ng Responds to Intimate Photos with Raymond Lam
Several nights ago, paparazzi spotted 19-year-old Karena Ng (吳千語) out on a dinner date with Raymond Lam (林峯) and some mutual friends. The photographers snapped several pictures of Raymond rubbing Karena’s stomach, immediately sparking pregnancy rumors. Although they ate with other friends, the couple snuggled throughout the long dinner date.
At the same event which Tavia attended, Karena was initially hesitant to talk about her relationship with Raymond once again. Asked if she was pregnant, Karena exclaimed, “Of course not!” Why was Raymond rubbing her stomach? Karena stiffly replied, “I’ve been going to the gym recently. I’m now healthier and my muscles are firmer. I have some abs. I was too skinny, so I would really like to gain some weight. Exercise is good for the body and health. I do feel like I’m fatter now.”
Asked if her friends were bothered by the intimacy she shared with Raymond at the dinner, Karena said, “No. We always eat out as a group.” Does Karena mind kissing in public? “That’s normal.” Asked why was Raymond pouting, Karena said, “I won’t respond to private matters.”

Tavia’s condition sounds very serious where it could lead to paralysis from the sound of it. Perhaps she should take time off to take care of a real medical problem rather than work till death. After all money can earned but you know, paralysis is pretty devastating if not death. She has been sick for every series she worked for, at some point she sounded like she had fever/cold/sore throat. And now this .. slipped disc or something? Sounds dangerous.
As for Karena and pregnancy rumour, if HK gossip magazines says it is true, I suppose it is 80% true. I mean they haven’t been wrong about this pair, yet.
Tavia’s condition does sound serious. Hope that she becomes cautious instead of just thinking about making money and end up like that one actress who died from cancer due to delayed treatment. All of the money in the world cannot buy back your health.
I am not sure if Karena is pregnant or not, but just because the gossip magazines say she is does not mean that she is. Time will tell if she is or not. However, IF she is, I wonder if they will have a lightning wedding like Moses and Aimee??
Come to think about it, not only tavia refuses to take time off to get her condition treated, several other artistes also do the same eg Kate Tsui. This is prolly due to professionalism issues– not to delay filming.
Usually when hk celebs are pregnant, they would not deny it outright. Considering that karena has denied being pregnant, I doubt that she is pregnant
I’m sure every TVB artists’ are demanded to continue working even if their health condition is considered severe. A few years ago when Tavia had bacteria enter her nervous system which affected her speech during filming The Other Truth she still had to continue…the company won’t even allow artists to have the choice of having the basic time to sleep daily let alone rest/recover from illness…even if they become hospitalised, they’d be required to head back to work the day after like Tavia did.
Since they have such a tight schedule they wouldnt be able to move through production if leads take a sickie..sad truth.
I think it happens not only in hk, but even in Hollywood. Even if the producers are kind enough to give that particular artiste a break due to injury, that artiste wouldn’t take a long break to treat his/her injury till it’s completely cured. They’ll mostly resort to taking painkillers. Putting myself in their shoes, I wouldn’t like filming to be delayed all because of me. filming is after all, a team effort

I can tell you that I have had experience with them and most of what they said about me was not true. Feng Shui sounds like fortune telling to me since I once went to a fortune teller(years ago to try it out so I have some experience to see if any of the stuff is true)and some of what he said was true. But most of it, I can say was BS. I know some are superstitious because my late father was and now I can see that most of things he said were all false.

One of my uncles studied Feng Shui and made a lot of money for many years doing this as a sideline and would give consultations to family members for free even without being asked. However, he gradually stopped dabbling in feng shui altogether. It was quite a shock to me since I only remember him ever spouting feng shui talk.
One day in my late teens, I asked him why and he said he felt bad. He didn’t explain further, maybe because I was too young.
Personally, I don’t believe in feng shui either.

I know people who spend hundreds, and in some cases, thousands of dollars a month to hear from these frauds. Even the late Princess Diana spent a fortune consulting mediams about her life. Even your everyday Joe and Joanna pay these people….. for what?.

Does this mean if Tavia gets pregnant in the future, it may cause more problems for her? Cuz the baby will press on the base of the spine. If something goes horribly wrong with her spine, she may not be able to have the baby and losing a baby is something really tragic which I don’t want her to go through 🙁

One day, I was gas torching a dessert crust to hear that Serengeti Time has started. I check it out, 3 kids piled on top of one another,yelling and tackling and a tiny one screaming in tears nearby.
At no better time, daddy comes home. He hears us from outside but we didn’t hear him, sees Mum holding a gas torch (turned off) but with a lot of screaming kids in sight.
Instantly, he thinks this is “Operation: Mum trying to make the kids behave by torching them alive”.
Mum and dad goes into the bedroom for a Streetfighter Showdown. A lot of angry words later…
We come out to find 3 kids playing together happily with Lego and one kid toddling happily with the empty Lego bucket.

As for the reference to fights, it meant about the kid picking fights on the net, not fists fights. hat is what she is doing, picking stupid, unnecessary, senseless angry fights with people who have not said buff to or about her.
