Edwin Siu Announces He and Priscilla Wong Are Already Married
The biggest surprise at the 2018 TVB Anniversary Awards may not be who the awards winners were, but instead Edwin Siu‘s (蕭正楠) revelation that he and Priscilla Wong (黃翠如) were already married since April.
Edwin’s variety show, Two Men in a Kitchen <兄弟大茶飯> helped him and Raymond Cho (曹永廉) clinch the Most Popular Partnership award. In his acceptance speech, Edwin said, “I want to thank my wife, Priscilla Wong! All along, I was thinking of all the romantic things to say to thank my wife. I really thought of many things and was nervous all night. I don’t even remember what to thank you for…. But you made me learn how to take care of others better, and for me to be a man. [Making this announcement tonight] is a big commitment because I’m saying it in front of the entire Hong Kong.” Edwin sweetly kissed Priscilla on stage after receiving the award.
Speaking with the press after the awards ceremony, Edwin revealed that he and Priscilla got married while on vacation in New Zealand in April. Sharing a humorous story about his first proposal attempt, Edwin said, “I proposed to her on a roller coaster, and even found Europe’s fastest roller coaster. But Priscilla got very scared when we reached the top. I took out the ring and told her to look, but she was too scared to look. I was afraid the ring would drop, so I stopped the proposal and my first attempt failed.” Edwin declined to reveal the details of his second proposal, saying his wife is too shy.
After registering their marriage, Edwin has been trying to find the perfect opportunity to announce the news. “But too many happy occasions happened afterward. Kevin Cheng (鄭嘉穎) got married, then Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) got married. Grace Chan (陳凱琳) became pregnant after, so I never had a chance to talk. Finally, I felt today is the perfect time to say it out!”
As to why he chose to announce his marriage at the TVB Anniversary, Edwin said, “I did the right thing tonight. We’ll have a good memory. Priscilla didn’t know about it in advance, but I had a hard time keeping it from her.”
Asked if he will hold a wedding banquet, Edwin said, “We’ll think about it! We decided to get married while on vacation, so we prefer to keep it low profile!” Priscilla chose to go to New Zealand, and the couple found a marriage witness spontaneously since their parents didn’t accompany them on the trip.

@funnlim Edwin Siu and Priscilla Wong are always such a loving couple. I thought Priscilla has been glowing at recent events; now we know it’s because of the joy of marriage.
Edwin seems to know ahead of time he would win Favorite Partnership Award, thus prepared his acceptance speech in advance to reveal his marital status. 🙂

@ivan The press always dubbed Edwin’s “love rival” as Tony Hung, because Priscilla had partnered with him so many times before and they’re close friends. Maybe Tony is just being playful and refused to shake Edwin’s hand.

Congrats to them, but Edwin should have been better prepared since he wanted to give this announcement at the show. The whole thing was awkward, poorly executed and almost cringe-worthy. Priscilla’s comment “enough enough, give the award” was a bit rude and spoiled what should have been a sweet moment. Luckily for them, people still reacted enthusiastically and saved their (embarrassing) moment.
The fact that with all the infamous tenacity of its doggy press and NO ONE knew they were married, shows 2 things;
1. doggy press has failed
2. probably doggy press didn’t care since they aren’t the famous golden couple.
Either way, maybe for them as in Edwin and Priscilla is a happy thing since very private and all but as artistes, frankly, it shows their level of fame.
Saw the video; he fumbled., Clearly the smarter one in the relationship is the woman in this case but they are compatible in their own ways.
@funnlim Actually the press did speculate/insider reveal that they are getting married somewhere early this year but they denied it.
You didn’t know not because of their fame level, but rather you didn’t care (same as I do) but yeah, the rumors of their marriage was in the doggy news.
In anyway, congrats to the couple, they looked sweet and lowkey. Wishing them a happy marriage.
@sehseh I agree… I noticed that toward the end of last year, beginning of this year, it was rumored that Edwin was planning to propose already. Then towards the middle of this year, during some interview it leaked that the couple secretly got married. Of course, they denied it at the time. So, the announcement during the awards ceremony was more of a confirmation than a surprise.
@funnlim We all know most of the artist know ahead of time who will win. Not a big secret, and TVB especially planned it this was as they asked Priscilla and Tony to announce the winners.

This is a great opportunity for TVB to make a bit of noise and for Edwin/Priscilla to call out for endorsements and advertisers live on Tv to hire them for huge money….
@jimmyszeto nah, don’t think this couple is that desperate for publicity or sponsorship for their wedding. They can well afford to pay for their own wedding.
