Dilireba Rumored to Be Terminating Contract with Jay Walk Studio

Rumors are saying that Dilireba (迪丽热巴) will be terminating her management contract with Jay Walk Studio, and fans are unanimously rejoicing.

The 27-year-old actress signed with Jay Walk Studio, which was co-founded by actress Yang Mi (嘉行传媒), in 2014. Dilireba shot to fame following her appearance in 2017’s Eternal Love <三生三世十里桃花>, and soon became one of China’s highest-paid and most popular actresses. She remains a very popular face for fashion magazines and beauty products.

However, despite her popularity and social media prominence, Dilireba admitted once on a program that she had not filmed a series in eight months. She also confessed that she had differences with her management team, and that was the reason why she had to turn down many role offers.

Eternal Love and Dream <三生三世枕上书>, which is currently airing, is Dilireba’s first television drama since 2018’s Sweet Dreams <一千零一夜>.

Fans had been very vocal about Jay Walk’s mistreatment towards Dilireba. Not only is Dilireba unable to choose her own projects, she is also tied to working with the same male costars, which are her Jay Walk label mates Vin Zhang (张彬彬), Vengo Gao (高伟光), and Wayne Liu (刘芮麟). Her most recent project with Vengo Gao—Eternal Love and Dream—is also critically panned.

    1. @tiffany Honestly i find her overrated. But she seems popular soooo of course she is going to demand high fees. I am always for money can’t hate on someone wanting to get paid. Always take what the market is willing to give you.

  1. If she does leave, I guess I won’t be able to see her acting with Vengo anymore in the future. I love this pairing. Sigh….

  2. Maybe she’s an average actress because she doesn’t like the roles her management gives her?

I thought she was good in the drama with Rain, Tang Yan, and Luo Jin as supporting then of course, I adore her as Feng Jiu in both dramas.

I really like Dilraba. She’s so grounded, sweet, hardworking, and genuine. Although, there are younger and better actresses, but they have an air of arrogance, not quite like Dilraba.

    1. @lynn90 I agree, she’s very hardworking and a great person in real life. Most of the criticism is from haters, I feel she is quite good for her age, but Jaywalk picks many scripts for her that have a similar kind of character. She needs more variety to shut the haters up

    2. @lynn90 I agree, she seems very sweet and actually down to earth. And I also agree the roles she’s getting is pretty bad. But what can you do, when most of the good roles would go to Yang Mi because she has better fans base and her rating performance has always been more solid (it’s a management/business call). So DD will always be second to Yang Mi, and when you are in that boat, you are better off elsewhere. Tbqh, jaywalk don’t seem to able to manage its artist well? Apart from Yang Mi and DD, I don’t see other explosive stars

  3. Such is life. You start with a company and as time goes by you part ways in order to grow in most cases.
If she’s not doing the work she wants to do or given the opportunity to do so then, by all means, let her go find that elsewhere. Maybe then one can see if it was really the company or just her acting. Who knows.
Personally, I like her as a person but some of her acting skills are just lacking. But, as I said that’s my personal opinion. With that said if she leaves I want to see what she has to offer, which can change my view of her acting.

    1. @jayla she needs more chances, and atm, all the roles she gets are pretty samey. Meanwhile Yang Mi has most versatile roles. Without getting different roles, she won’t be able to improve her acting skills.

  4. Good for her…. zhang bin bin and Leon zhang should follow if they want to salvage their career….
