Yoyo Mung on Filming “Flying Tiger 2”

Slowing down her workload in recent years, Yoyo Mung (蒙嘉慧) expressed that the filming process has changed a lot from her experience with TVB seven years ago. Starring in Shaw Brothers’ web drama, Flying Tiger 2 <飛虎之雷霆極戰>, Yoyo said,  “The feeling is very different as I am filming again. The filming method has changed so much. There are more cameras used, and we don’t need to use real settings or background scenes. Getting a role now requires you to take initiative. If you want to try out for a role, you go and audition for it and there’s no longer a need to have someone find jobs for you.”

Reflecting on working with her romantic co-star Michael Miu (苗僑偉), Yoyo shared, “A lot of the scenes are very emotional. I got very tired from filming crying scenes. Michael took care of me very well. I remember when we were filming a running scene on the wooden planks of a beach, my high heels kept getting stuck on the gaps of the floor boards. Michael immediately thought up of a solution by using camera angles, where he would hold my hand as we ran without it looking like so on film. He was extremely professional.”

Known for her love of outdoors and physical activity, Yoyo would often take advantage of breaks in between filming to stretch. Exercise is a very important aspect of her and husband Ekin Cheng’s (鄭伊健) lifestyle. She shared, “Ekin and I are both very active people. After years of filming, we’ve sustained injuries that resulted in lots of aches and pains unknowingly. Since we were staying home more often due to the pandemic, we would often stretch and exercise at home.”

she looks okay on first glance but after a while just boring to look at her face too. it’s like her face and lack of acting sucks the interest of watching any more of her.

  2. She’s another one of those talentless hacks that married another talentless hack.

  3. I wonder is Shaw brother’s and tvb cooperated? If not how come some tvb actor join them too?

  4. I think it’s time for her “breakthrough.” She needs a villainous role. Her resting b**ch face would make her a great antagonist. Guaranteed it’d be more interesting than her usual monotonous characters and maybe it’ll even let her shine as an actress.

  5. Yo-yo mung still looked pretty in flying tiger 2
She is 46, but she Is miscast as Rebecca Chan’s daughter…
    Rebecca Chan is 61…
Dominic Lam who plays her father is 63…

They needed someone much younger, but then it would be hard to play Michael MIu love interest

  6. Can someone tell me where Yoyo came from? Was she a pageant contestant or from the TVB academy? It felt like out of nowhere TVB just all of a sudden started promoting her.

    1. @pinky According to wiki, Yoyo did not have a great childhood as she grew up in an abusive household & her sister committed suicide. She was in an advertisement with Aaron Kwok and was discovered by producer/director Johnnie To, which marked the start of her journey as an actress. In 2 years, she starred in 12 movies.
