No 7-Year Itch for Moses Chan: “I Married an Angel”

The seven-year itch is a term to describe how happiness for couples tend to decline after seven years of marriage, but for Moses Chan (陳豪) and Aimee Chan (陳茵媺), that won’t happen.

The couple made a rare public appearance together earlier this week to promote a Japanese cosmetics brand. Moses said his wife is the perfect model for the brand, as Aimee is not only angelic on the outside, but also in the inside.

Asking Aimee if Moses had always been such a sweet talker, she laughed and said, “Yes! (Do you also do the same to your husband?) I do, but of course, it’s not appropriate to do it here!”

Moses continued, “[Aimee] is the angel of my life. I married an angel, and she gave me three other little angels, so my house is filled with angels.”

“Love” is a very important word for Moses and Aimee. They will express it whenever they can so they will not forget that love is the foundation of their relationship and family. They also instilled the same philosophy on their children, and will never forget to tell their children that they love them every single day.

“You’ll be hearing a lot of I love you’s every day and night in our household!” said Moses. Asking if they would hug each other every single morning, he said, “Not only hug, but also kiss! It only counts if the lips touch.”

Joking if they also like to show love through “action,” Moses laughed and said, “I don’t know how to answer that! Everything is love, whether you’re thinking it, saying it, or doing it. We are very transparent with each other. The seven-year itch will not happen with us.”

Moses and Aimee tied the knot in 2013 and have three children together: 5-year-old Aiden, 4-year-old Nathan, and 2-year-old Camilla.

Very happy for Aimee and Moses that they are such a happily married couple with 3 lovely children. Agreed that it’s not easy for Aimee to give up her acting career when she was being highly promoted by TVB. If she did not get married and had children right away, she should be a popular 1st lead actress now, maybe even a TV Queen.

Then there are a lot of actresses in there mid 40s who have sacrificed starting a family to enjoy the feeling of fame which is addictive and the quick accumulation of money. However, many regret when they realise their youth had gone and can’t turn back time to start a family. The younger generation actresses have gotten smarter by marrying earlier recently which in my mind is the correct choice.

@orchid123 well, maybe being pregnant before marriage left her with no choice . She’s another shotgun example. Mmmmmm …..she was highly promoted by TVB at that time but it’s really doubtful she may be TV Queen by now, her acting sucks. Glad to see her devoting time to her family.

Aimee’s career was going well.Although Aimee did not get any diverse roles, she was very comfortable to watch onscreen unlike Linda Chung whose acting was annoying to watch, Eliza Sum who spoke like she was reading the lines off paper and Grace Chan who does not even understand the definition of acting. Aimee would have fallen into the Selina Li bracket. Comfortable to watch but not spectacular…

@jimmyszeto Aimee speaks too fast and her diction is poor, maybe becos she speaks little Canto. She was ok in supporting roles but floundered as the lead actress, TVB promoted her too fast. I think Selina is better than her. I totally agree the others you mentioned are terrible. Glad that they’re alli embracing motherhood.

I also agreed that Aimee spoke too fast in her dialogues, but she could have improved if she was given the time. That was one of my comments on her acting at that time. Aimee was born in Toronto and if she was not brought up in a Chinese (Hongkongers) environment, it was hard for her. She talks fast in English as well.

I must admit that Linda, born in Vancouver, was able to speak better Cantonese when she first went to Hong Kong to compete in Chinese International Beauty Pageant Contest. I think she grew up in a more Chinese (Cantonese) environment as I heard that she took voice lessons from a Hong Kong cantopop singer when she was young. Linda could read some Chinese, while Aimee couldn’t.

Aimee could have chosen to return to TVB after giving birth to her 1st child, but she chose to have more children instead. In a way, it was a sacrifice of her for her family.

@orchid123 indeed. If teh bao Sheh with her chicken voice can improve after being given leads after leads, I am pretty sure Aimee would have improved in leaps and bounds too. Ah well everyone have choices in life and she chose love
