Charmaine Sheh Spent $20,000 on a Pair of Shoes
Charmaine Sheh Si Man appeared as a guest at a shoe fashion show. Asked if appearing the show’s finale segment meant a more significant fee, Charmaine said, “I’m older and can’t walk as nicely as the young models!” Charmaine did admit that the fee was satisfactory. For October year-to-date, Charmaine indicated that her income already surpassed last year’s income. Despite this, she did not have time to spend the money and could only smile while watching her savings account grow.
Charmaine was a big fan of shoes. For her wardrobe, she spent the most money on her shoes and owned over two hundred pairs of shoes at home. When she went shoes shopping, she would act possessed. One time, she even spent $20,000 (HKD) on one pair of shoes.
Having just completed TVB series, The Colorful World of Sister Fa <花花世界花家姐>, Charmaine will have ten free days to accept jobs on the side to make money. Afterwards, she will head to film in Wuxi. Due to filming requirements, Charmaine may be unable to attend this year’s TVB Anniversary celebration. When asked about the Best Actress Award, Charmaine said the awards results were not important as long as the audience enjoyed watching the series.

Jayne: This early buzz of Charmaine Sheh being unable to attend the award seems to hint that she will not be receiving this year’s Best Actress Award. Even if not, it would be nice to see her there as she is still one of TVB’s biggest stars.
$20,000 for a pair of shoes! I can almost get a new car with that money! If Charmaine does not attend the award ceremony, Sheren’s chances of winning will be greater. But I hope she attends, because that would make it more interesting. If neither of then attend, then what happens I wonder?
I loathe to think that Charmaine would win for “Can’t Buy Me Love”. That would be like Katherine Heigl winning an Oscar for Killers.

Well she earned her money, she gets to spend it anyway she wants. Better shoes than toy boys.
Well I didn’t really mean Katherine Heigl was a bad actress, in fact she does a decent job on Grey’s Anatomy. I merely meant the role and the quality of the movie was of the same caliber.
I also think awards should be given to commend breakthrough roles or breakthrough acting, and unfortunately I don’t think Charmaine’s role fits that category and because her role was so frivolous I don’t think she can achieve breakthrough acting.
That’s 20,000HKD, not 20,000USD. so that’s about $3,000USD.
Best Actress for a nonsense comedy? That would definitely a first!
However I don’t really think Sheren has any competitors… I struggle to find any other series this year with a substantially outstanding female role. And I don’t even think Sheren’s role this time is particularly good.
I disagree, I just watched only 4 episodes of “No Regret” and I found the role fits her so well. I loved when she was in the Rosy Business, the only thing I don’t like in any HK series is the Japanese theme in it. Of all the series throughout the year I think Sheren’s chance of getting the award is great.
Sheren’s role this time around is spectacular!!! An intelligent, strong, independent, calculating and seemingly immoral villainousness who to the surprise of the audience has a deeper layer of conscientiousness and empathy that keeps the viewer wondering what kind of person she really is. How could you not love that? Any likable, A-list actress can make a pure hearted protagonist role likeable, but to make a flawed and immoral character likable it takes a completely different standard of actor, and that’s where Sheren shines. I am definitely cheering for Sheren to win this year.

yeah! how is sheren not doing any justice to her role? i think she did a perfectly great job, and i dun think other people can play kau mui with the same conviction and imposing presence as sheren! sheren just has a very strong screen presence, i feel. omg, there’s just so many layers and facades to sheren’s character that i dun even know whether she’s just faking it, putting on a show, or feeling true.
just as i was thinking that tvb might give it to somebody with subpar acting (not entirely the artiste’s fault, considering that this year’s tvb scripts are mostly crap), out comes sheren! i’m fully behind sheren for this year’s best actress award!

I’ve only watched four episodes of No Regrets and she is phenomenal so far. I read that someone thought she was over-acting but I beg to differ. I can’t wait to watch more ! (Free of mid-terms now :D)

I think that CBML was a very meaningful and funny seris.the script was written very good teaches lots of thing.I really like the part when Charmaine and Moses got in jail together.That part was very good very meaningful.I’m only 12 CBML had teach me lots of meaningful thing in life like love ur family.Other people may betray u but ur family will always support u .Treasure ur love.I have learn lot and lots from this seris.i don’t know the reason why u guys think is is stupid but it is not.
