Elaine Yiu’s Upcoming Drama Was Tailor-Made for Her
Recently, news broke that Elaine Yiu (姚子羚) was involved in a love quadrangle with her ex-boyfriend Raymond Young, and a photo of the two in bed together was leaked. Although Elaine clarified she was not a home wrecker, the incident did not die down. Despite being ridden with negative press, Elaine’s career is still on the rise. The 38-year-old will star as the lead alongside Joel Chan (陳山聰) in a new drama about running. The characters were especially tailor-made for the Crazy Runner members.
Reportedly, Elaine has not had time to discuss the script, as she’s been busy filming back to back. “After we finish filming Chinatown <唐人街>, I really want to take a break and take care of my body,” she expressed. “Earlier Ruco Chan (陳展鵬) stepped on my foot, and it’s been swollen for more than a week. He feels bad about it so he gives me a call every two days to check up on me, but he still owes me a meal.”
Currently injured all over her body, Elaine still has to see a doctor. On the other hand, Joel, who will be playing a running coach and a dad in the drama, is really looking forward to it. With only two months to prepare for the series, he said, “I need to find my feet first. I was so occupied with work that I haven’t been running as much. I also focused on my abs during Chinatown, so I really need to train first. Running in the summer is hard, so I will need to look for a professional to practice together.”
When Joel was asked about Elaine, he shared, “Elaine is very strong and very professional, so I am absolutely not worried that she’ll be affected when it comes to her work.”
The actress appeared at Tseung Kwan O today to wrap up filming for Chinatown and accepted an interview with reporters. Earlier, there were reports that she was worried about the possibility of a sex tape leaking, but Elaine refuted the claims and said she did not film one. “I believe everyone knows what kind of person I am,” she stated. “To some degree, I am also a victim because my photo got leaked. I will need to discuss with the company [about getting the police involved], but I hope the matter will end soon,” Elaine said.
